I will be visiting Djibouti some time in Dec 08/ Jan 2009 for 2 weeks could you pleass tell me a cheap but nice hotel. Price range 30- 40 US a Night. As I am British person I was told by the British Foreign Office, I can get a visa at Djibouti Airport.

Could you tell me is 50us a day Enough in Djibouti or you need more, I will be visiting Djibouti (city) eating and drinking and enjoying the night life.

I'm on the possibly foolish quest of planning an overland trip from capetown to europe. Sudan is causing a few problems, so does anybody know of any ferries going from djibouti to eygpt or anywher. Need to find a way to get a car and myself to either eygpt or middle east?

WE are going to Djibouti end of March 2008 (in 2 weeks) and I like to buy local art (oil paintings, sculptures what is available) Any recommendations ? Addresses of local galleries or type of art to buy ?

I'll be diving in Djibouti in late October. Can anyone tell me what is the average water temp then? Would a 3ml suit be enough? I'm guessing it will be it'd be nice to know for sure.

My flight will be there around 9 o'clock in the evening. Can I find a taxi at the airport ? And Is it easy to find some budget hotel ?
And also is it easy to find a car to far places ? (or tour bus to Abbe, etc...)

Hi again, well I'm definitely going! Travel is now booked.
1) Now regarding visas, I'm French (so French Passport) living in UK.
Do I need a visa? I'm getting conflicting infos but it looks like I may need one. Also I can't find any embassy or consulate of Djibouti in London, does any one know where I can get visa and whether it's cheaper in advance or on arrival.

2) I now that it will be hot but what's teh situation re mosquitos? do I need a net? I'll be on a diving boat all week except 1 night in Djibouti town. Will spray be sufficient or do I need a net?

Djibouti. What kind of animals does djibouti have?

i haven't seen any question under this topic before but i'm sure some have visited this country. i'd love to know if anyone took any domestic flight there before? if so, was it on time?
