Tournai Studying French in Tournai
Posted: Thu December 9, 2004 01:07 PM UTC
I'm interested in living and studying French in Tournai. It seems that the "heart of the french kingdom" seems like an appropriate place..... I do have already an intermediate knowledge of French (studied in Canada) but I'm looking at something more officiele.... Any suggestions...?

Tournai VT meeting - Discovering Tournai ?
Posted: Fri April 2, 2004 05:36 AM UTC
Nowadays Tournai is just a small provincial town and that's probably why too many people are overlooking it. However, this is the oldest town in Belgium and its past is extremely glorious (root of the French kingdom) !! The Cathedral and the Belfry are both on the World Heritage list.
Not that I want to advertise it (just a little bit ;-), but have a look to my VT page to make your idea by yourself...

Norali wish to vist it, Myriam suggested to organise a meeting and Mique agreed... well, who else is interested ?
Waw, that would be my first VT meeting and I'd organise it ;-)

Next question is when? May-June timeframe sounds ok to me: more chance to have some nice weather but well, we are in Belgium so we can never tell...
Anyway even if it is raining like hell, with 8 museums, we could still easily find sth to do...
"Les 4 corteges" takes place the second WE of june, this is a folkloric parade but, shame on me, I don't know much more, since this always falled during my exams time, I've never seen it... This year could be a nice opportunity ;-)

Let me know your ideas, suggestions...
