Honeymoon in Njamena Posted: Fri January 9, 2009 08:13 AM UTC
Could you tell me some nice place to stay in Njamena? I'm gonna be there with my fiancee so i'm looking for pretty romantic location. She wants to start a trip from Njamena (i have no idea why:))How much it could be cost? And do you know what is the cheapest way to get to Njamena from Europe? Are there any alternatives to Air France?
Thank you in advance
Andrei from Moscow

Going to Saigon Posted: Sat February 16, 2008 05:13 PM UTC
I'm taking about a 10 day trip and want to visit Bangkok and Saigon. I was stationed at Tan Son Nhut (1966-68) and would like to go onto the base to take pictures and see what its like since the 40 years since I left. Is there any problems getting onto the base? Is it a "controlled area"?? Are the barracks and buildings still standing? And I would like to stay in a safe hotel but not expensive. Any suggestions? I would also like to join a tour leaving from LAX to save money. Travel dates are still open but I want to go within the next 3 months or so.

Anyone familiar with the Phu Tho area of Saigon? Posted: Fri April 20, 2007 08:13 PM UTC
I will be in Saigon the month of May and would like to find the location I was stationed at in 1970. The name of the unit was RCG and it was located a couple blocks off of a street called Plantation Road. It consisted of about a half dozen buildings. There was a Catholic church nearby, the steeple of which could be seen from the rooftops of the taller buildings at RCG. It was about 1 mile from the Phu Tho Race Track, going toward Tan Son Nhut off the right hand side. There was also a BEQ on Plantation Road called the Montana and also a Navy relocation building, both within a few blocks of RCG. I believe the name of Plantation Road may now be Nguyen Van Thoai. If anyone is familiar with the area and thinks they may be of help, I would appreciate it.
Regards,
Bob

Travel and Tourism Market in Chad Posted: Tue May 30, 2006 01:30 PM UTC
Hello.
I have been commissioned for a report on the travel and tourism market in Chad which will be diffused internationally.
I am looking for experienced operators (or experienced amateurs) in the sector to interview them about their views on the country and its touristic potentials.
Any tips or advice is welcome!
Thanks

Beer cans in Chad Posted: Sat June 12, 2004 12:41 AM UTC
Dear Travellers,
I have never seen a beer can produced in Chad. Do you know if there is any production of beer in cans there? If so, which brands? I heard that a GALA beer used to be imported to Chad, but I am not sure. Please tell me... Thanks, Andre, from Brazil.

I need a general consensus Posted: Wed March 19, 2003 05:53 AM UTC
I have been mulling over the creation of a N’Djamena travel page for some time now, and I thought I had reached a decision. However, as I was reviewing my materials (photos), I noticed that I am holding a weapon in every picture. Most of the pictures I have of N’Djamena are of me standing in front of some building or are of a group of locals and I together, and I fear the presence of an M-16 A2 Rifle in these pictures may lead some of you to conjure images of a hostile city. I don’t want to offend anyone with the graphic nature of these pictures, and I feel they may do Chad a great disservice if they are posted. Does anyone else feel my pictures maybe unsuitable for the VT community? Should I create this page or not? Please, I need some advice.

Hi out there!
Was anybody recently in Tchad? I'm interested in the current situation for travellers in the capital N'Djamena and also in the north-eastern regions of Abeché and Fada.
Greetings from Zurich Bernhard
