Is it true I can get on train in Koln and get off this train in Minsk ??
My girlfriend in Minsk has doubts about this train, this is the reason why I ask !!
With what money can I pay on this train?? euro's or us-dollars ??
I hope someone can give me some answers, I'm going on this train on 11 april
and dont know anything !!

We are a couple who is considering to go to Minsk for a few days. How safe is it for tourists there? Is there anything we should be extra careful about? Or anything that is good for us to know about?

Also, if somebody knows about cheap accommodation there, please tell me about it.

I am from the Uk..Whats the word on the Visa situation? I heard that i can get one at Minsk airport. So can i just get a flight there and buy my Visa and then go travelling around. Do i have to book accomadation in advance?

I got the info that bus from airport to city costs 1 euro still.
After getting down to the bus terminal in the city, how shall I reach Hotel Orbita from there? by bus or? Pls advise.

1) How much time does the trip take from the Minsk airport to the train station (Minsk Pass.) by bus ? Is price still 1 euro ?

2) Can I find the exchange office on the airport ? Where is it located ?

Does anybody know of any recommadable hostel or bed & breakfast-like stay in Minsk, or which hotel might be a good deal for at budget traveller? Planning to stay there just for a few days in late July.

Does anyone know if there is a weight limit to the amount of baggage you can bring into Minsk thru customs? I am traveling from USA to Minsk.
I was told that even though the airlines allow 2 checked bags at 72 lbs each if you go thru customs any weight over 55 each bag or a combined weight of 110 pounds will be imposed fees of some sort. Is that True??

If so how much would that fee be? Also, are carry-ons added to the weight limit.

I am a Canadian national who is interested in visiting Belarus August 1-15. I do not know much about this region and hence would like to know more that is why I plan to go and check it out.

What my concerns are visa formalities, inexpensive accomodation ( even willing to do a homestay to learn about the culture), and sights to see. If anyone has anything to offer, I am willing to listen and begin corresponding with you. If you can email me my other address that is much easier as I do not frequent the Virtual Tourist website often.

i need help with translation,from english to belarussian,it seems i have found my fathers family,they are the sobolewski family from Rubezhevichi 60km from minsk i believe.that is the place my father came from.an american lady visited rubezhevichi last year and met the sobolewski family,she sent me an email,and she seems sure they are my family.i have two email adresses to contact the sobolewski family,but obviously language is a big problem.also if they are my family i would like to visit belarus soon,can anyone help.kind regards stephen sobolewski.

Minsk in March for the weekend. My friends are not really intrepid
travellers and they think i'm mad to go there so I'm looking for

A friend of mine has been hosting an 8-year-old boy from Minsk while he undergoes medical treatment here in Rome. Now she and her husband have decided that they would like to adopt him (he is an orphan)... and so they may need some advice and/or assistance with the formalities on the Belorussian side.

Where can find an Internetcafe in Minsk ? I was there two years ago, and then I only found internet in the central postoffice. But everything was busy, and it was nearly impossible to book a time.

Has anybody stayed at this Hotel? What's it like?

I am from Poland and I am writing on behalf of French friends. They want to go to Minsk but they do not have any invitation letter and do not have any voucher from travel agency. Is it possible to them for example to buy on the border tourist visa to cross the border. I was passing through Belarus when I went to Moskow and I remember that one guy did not have visa but he bought on the border. I will be glad for all information about prices and anything connected with tourist visa in Belarus. I must add that they are now in Vilnius. Thank you
