Hello,

My friends and I will be visiting Minsk for 5 nights over New Year. 29 Dec 08 - 02 Jan 09.

We will be after accomodation with 5 beds. A centrally located apartment would be ideal. Can you recomend any apartments or hotels please?

All the apartments I've seen on the web so far have only had 1,2 or 3 beds.

Any help is much appreciated.

I will be in Minsk in August for a few days but paln on travelling on to Vilinus.
Could anybody advise me the best way to get there-by bus or train.Ideally I would like a websit giving me times etc., and even better to book on-line!

We are two gentlemen Swiss nationality, both university level, and are looking for an English, German or French speaking person that will show us around 2-3 hours in Minsk at a precise date: Monday 14th April morning or afternoon. We stay two nights at Hotel Yubileneya.

My name is Johan and I live in Denmark. We are 4 guys which have booked a trip to Minsk, for a long weekend.

However we seem to have trouble getting an invitation for the visa.

We do not want to stay in a hotel, but prefer to rent an apartment.
Do you have any advice?

Hiya, I wonder if somebody can help, I'm planning a trip to Minsk in the near future, although I’ve been repeatedly warned about the dangers with going to such a place because of my ethnic origin. I admit most, well all my information comes from people who have never been there, so it’s really all hearsay, I much welcome a real lowdown on the city.

So roughly what is the difference in the US and Belarus currency. I would also like to know if credit cards are accepted in Belarus. The Ukraine is almost a cash only country. I am going to Minsk to visit a friend that lives in Gomel. Don't really want to travel with a lot of cash. Any suggestions??

Ant suggestion on what I defintiely need to do while i am in Minsk. I am staying with a guy I met on a Cruise. I am looking to see as much as possible. A little nervous and a little scared. But I am going twith the attitude of I can't wait to get the and see all I should shee. Anything specific I should bring home as a souvenir AND did you go to the Minsk zoo. been looking at waytorussia.net a good site but all the trains to minsk depart late afternoon are buses more frequent and loking at the distance and journey times the trains seem v slow
ideally an early morning bus to minsk and the same again for a return does anyone have any bus times..

the other option was to then leave minsk go to moldovo through ukraine there seems to be no info on waytorussia

Just curious how much a western-style 2 bedroom apartment in the center of Minsk with reliable high-speed internet access would cost per month?

Additionally, is Minsk an interesting/fun city to stay in for a few months? I am from the US and don't know anyone there but thought it could be an interesting experience.

Does any-one know if it's possible to hire a driver (plus car) to take me and three friends from Minsk to Vilnius Airport? Unfoutuantly, the Bus and Train times don't suite our travel arrangements.

We are a couple who is considering to go to Minsk for a few days. How safe is it for tourists there? Is there anything we should be extra careful about? Or anything that is good for us to know about?

Also, if somebody knows about cheap accommodation there, please tell me about it.
