We are staying near the train station for a couple of nights in December. I prefer inexpensive, local restaurants where the locals go for working lunch or dinner. Could you recommend some restaurants around the train station? Also I would like to have cous cous with lamb or seafood which I tried in Mazara del Vallo in Sicily if there is a nearby restaurant.
Also where is the drop off at the train station from the airport shuttle? I am trying to plan my walk from the train station to the hotel using Google Maps.
Our cruise will stop in Marsailles on Sunday, November 29, and we'd like to take a bus to Aix and back for the day. I'm having trouble finding a bus schedule in English, since my French is very basic. It seems that a bus is the best idea, but maybe the train is better on Sunday. Can anyone help?

Hi has anyone driven from Nice to Bilbao or San Sebastian in Spain?
How long will this take?
Is it worth doing? We will be spending the majority of the time in Spain.
Dear Traveller,
I and my family we want to go from the 24th-27th Dec. for a short Christmas break in Provence.
I m wondering if anyone here has an experience of Christmas in Provence.
Our destination is not fixed yet. It could be Nice, or St Tropez or Avignon or a small village, independs from the real reviews we are going to read from real traveller.
Just a small notice, we are not the snow types ...
thanks in advance

All Saints Day Posted: Sun October 11, 2009 10:57 PM UTC
Hello,
We will visiting Cannes On November 1, 2009 via cruiseline.
Are most of the sights closed due to All Saints Day?
Can you recommend sights to visit and transportation options (bus) for that day?
Would Grasse and Gourdon be a reasonable trip from Port of Cannes?
Thank you
I will be staying in Nice and will have 12 full days to explore and enjoy the city and the surrounding area. If my itinerary of towns to visit seems a bit ambitious, keep in mind that I am a professional photographer (with a focus on travel images) and am there as much to work as to play.
My question to you all is this: Can each of the following towns be reached by bus or train (from Nice)? I will not be renting a car.
I have consulted the Ligne d'Azur PDF of bus routes, but found it difficult to navigate and couldn't quite figure out if certain buses stopped at some of my towns of interest along the route to their final destination. If I could see more than one town in the same day, that would be good to know (and likely to do).

Train to Paris Posted: Thu September 24, 2009 04:55 PM UTC
Back in 2006, I wanted to go from Marseille back to Paris. However, the TGV was fully booked through the rest of the weekend, and so I took the classic train back. It was about a 10 hour trip and at some point, the train passed through some mountains. I never knew what route we took and what cities we passed through. Would anyone have any idea about what route that was? Unfortunately, I do not remember any of the cities, but we went west through the mountains. Thanks!
Need to know how to ride on a train or bus if train is not available from port of Cannes to Monte Carlo. Pls advise the train schedule and fare or a website I can find the info.
If I take a train from Nice to rapallo, there is no direct train and I must go to Vingtimille and then Genoa....On raileurope site it showed NA, which means not available and I do not understand.
Any possibility to go by bus from Nice to Genoa, how many buses a day from la gare routiere ? After Genoa, I may take a train or bus to Rapallo.
Train to Aix Posted: Sun August 30, 2009 02:58 AM UTC
I will be in Lyon for a few days and after that to Aix. Is it better to take a train to Marseille and change to bus to arrive in Aix town as my hotel is near the bus station. Or TGV direct to Aix, but have to go to TGV station and then transfer probably by bus to Aix town. Which is the most convenient having a big luggage.
What would be the best way to get from the airport at Marseille to the docking location Quai Lamartine in Arles? Would point to point tickets be best?
Thanks, Rubbertoe
Does anyone know whether there is an early morning bus starting at 6.30am or will we need to get a taxi? If it's the taxi can you recommend a reasonably priced one (if there is such a thing?)
We've booked flights in and out of Nice in September and would love some suggestions on how to see as much as possible of the area in a week. Neither of us have been there before and enjoy seeing the real country, people and food, rather than tourists!
My Mum has spent her life wanting to horseride in the Camargue so please could someone recommend where we can book half/full-day rides. We also want to visit Monte Carlo, Aix-en-Provence, Gorges du Verdon and possibly the Luberon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, if we're not too pushed for time!
We'd really appreciate and advice, suggested routes etc. Also, is hiring a car the best way to travel? I've heard the coastal roads can be one long traffic jam!
We are planing to visit Marineland in September and to get there by car from Spain.
Please tell any information about timetable of the Killer Whale show in order we could organize our trip.
I have been quoted a price of £10 per person for breakfast at the hotel I'm staying at.
I wanted to know the average price for breakfast in cafe's in Nice. I imagine it varies greatly but for cafes in the areas of Rue Marechal Joffre I wondered if there were any budget traveller priced cafes to eat breakfast.
Does anyone know or has anyone taken a bus from Aix-en-Provence to Nice on a sunday in September? Any suggestions on english websites available for a bus schedule or is there a train schedule available. Thank you for any information.
We are travelling through France in August, by caravan. I heard that there are few camp sites and parking possibilities for camp mobiles along the côte d'azur. We do not have any reservations made and we are only travelling through (stays in monaco, nice and cannes for one night each). Does anyone have a good suggestion where we can spend our nights? Thanks in advance for any hints!
