I will be staying in the Ibis Hotel at Heathrow and am hoping to travel from there to Windsor on a Sunday afternoon at about 3 and come back at around 8.Are there any buses that would be able to do this?
Thanks
Hi, anyone had got online ticket to Windsor Castle. I plan to do day trip to Windsor from London on 1st Oct. Should we purchase it online or it's still okay to buy from there itself? Reliable? Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thinking of going to Royal Ascot this year (on the Saturday).
Any ideas for somewhere to stay? We'd be driving, and coming from Heathrow, so somewhere west/south west of the airport but not in Ascot itself...
Don't like "country house" type places. Happy with budget chains.
One other question - if my 14 year old comes along does he have to stick to the general admission rules too (collar & tie - no jeans etc)? He'd look a bit of a pratt in his school uniform! Thats all he has apart from leisure clothes. Maybe I could rent a kilt for him!
As my fiance and I will be traveling to London and we are still finalizing the plans, we are thinking of going to Windsor and Eton, through the Green Line coaches.
I am just wondering, do I have to purchase the coach ticket beforehand? Perhaps online? Or can I just find a counter or kiosk and buy my tickets there?
And realistically, if we see everything quick... a same-day return is still doable, right?
has anyone eaten here recently? We have been many times in the past but not for several years. I wanted to take my husband there for his 50th birthday in april but the only review I could find on the net was from last november and it was dire! I don't wnat to book a special night out if it has gone downhill, but the setting is lovely ,we will be mooring outside for the night if we go, and we have fond memories of the place. Any restuarant can have a bad night but I would apppreciate some recent review of the place. Many thanks Linda
Hi!
I'm writing to ask if You can help me.
I live in London and I would like to come and visit my friend in Reading. But the problem is, that I can not find any Transport to get there.
I will be pleased if You can give me some direction to Reading from London.
Can anyone recommend a fun restaurant for a Saturday night in Reading. We usually end up in a Chinese (upstairs in Furama) which has been brilliant and very reasonbale but would like to try something different..................
The monk was placed in the Abbey Ruins back in 1988 on the London road side of the ruins. In the picture on your website, the Monk is in a different place.
Can you please tell me when the Monk was moved, and why?
(I have pictures of when it was placed there and know the wife of one of the original workers who placed him there).
I am flying into Gatwick 21:00 hours on 29th of March. I need to get to Reading that night. Could someone please advice what would be the best cheapest and the shortest way to get there?
is look out centre suitable for enthusiastic 3 1/2 year old? is it buggy friendly outside (a 3-wheeler so hopefully ok)? any other suggestions suitable for entertaining 3year old and 7month old brother in the area?

Windsor motto Posted: Mon October 23, 2006 04:03 PM UTC
Greetings all. This probably sounds a daft question, but does anyone know the official motto of the town of Windsor. I've tried every search-engine in the known universe and have so far drawn a complete blank. And if anyone happens to know the official motto for nearby Eton, that would be a big bonus. Grateful for any help
My new favorite team is Reading thanks to the Bald Yank, Marcus Hahnemann, and Bobby Convey. I would love to know any information on websites or whatnot on the team....
Do you know if there is any way to save some money buying a weekly ticket or a railcard? I'll need to travel everyday from London Paddington to Reading, and the fare, 12.40£ for a single ticket, isn't cheap...
Quick visit? Posted: Tue May 23, 2006 05:40 AM UTC
In July, my family will arrive at Heathrow late morning. The next day we have a flight on to Budapest. So, I'd like to see if we can dash over to Windsor to see the castle for a couple of hours. We'll be staying at the Novotel at Heathrow. Is this at all realistic? What would be the best way to get from Heathrow to Windsor (ie. taxi, public transport)? If this isn't realistic, what should we occupy ourselves with whilst stuck at Heathrow for the afternoon/evening? Thanks for any advice.
