Questions about Nürnberg Posted: Tue December 12, 2006 09:45 AM UTC
I would be in Nürnberg for about a day. Would like to know what are the more important sights to cover.
1) I intend to visit the castle in the morning. Are there specific times for English tours? Is photography allowed in the castle and on the grounds?
2) To get some feel of the distances, how long is the castle from the train station?
3) Are there any museums relating to WWII with explanations in English?
4) Is there a few roads that should be taken in order not to miss out on the more important sights?
Vielen dank im voraus.

Historical Interest -- What is...? Posted: Mon August 14, 2006 09:16 AM UTC
Hi all,
Was wondering if Nurnberg is a good place to stop enroute from Munich to Berlin?
Again, it's a trip with a historical focus, so let me know if it's worth my while to stop by here.
By the way, does it take about 3 hours on coach from Munich to Nurnberg and another 3 hours to Leipzig and then about 1.5 hours from Leipzig to Berlin?
Thanks for your input and have a great day! :)
smiles,
francesca

Museum of modern design Posted: Fri April 21, 2006 02:02 AM UTC
I think I have read about a museum in Nurnberg for modern design but I cannot remember its name. I think it is near the main gate by the station. Is anyone familiar with this? It is supposed to contain items from post WWII era. My daughter is interested in visiting this museum.

Transportation from Frankfurt to Nürnberg Posted: Wed April 12, 2006 07:17 PM UTC
Hi guys,
We arrive at the Frankfurt airport at 17:20 on Saturday in May. We were going to use railway to get to Nurnberg. I found on http://www.bahn.de that there is a Bavarian ticket that costs only 25 Euro for up to 5 people, but I'm not sure we can use it for the journey from Frankfurt. I found that we can use Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket, but all the information about this ticket is in German and unfortunately I can't understand it. What is the best and cheapest way to get to Nurnberg in the evening. Should I buy ticket online or from the automat. Does the automat accept change only or also credit cards etc.? Sorry, I have a lot of questions, just want my trip to be perfect :)).
Thanks a lot.

We're coming to Nuremberg this summer and my wife remembers a weinstube or restaurant which has a big wood carving chandelier. The chandelier has people and animals and carriages and is a beautiful carving in an Altstadt place to eat or drink. Would anyone else know of a place like this???

Car and Hotel Posted: Tue February 1, 2005 06:33 PM UTC
Thank you to all who responded to me so quickly and with so much zeal. I am sorry to post another question, but it is my first time travelling to Europe, and I am quite confused :)
Do car rental companies allow one-way rentals. I will be landing at Frankfurt airport with quite a lot of luggage and would like to travel to Nuremberg from there by car. Could anyone suggest which car companies I could contact so organize a car for myself.
Any recommendations for inexpensive, yet nice hotels located in the center of the city, still close to a train station. I am accompanying my father for an exhibition in March and we are looking to stay in an inexpensive place, where we can still get a flavour of the city when we return back to the hotel late in the evening.
Thanks a million!!!

Visit in March Posted: Mon January 24, 2005 05:21 PM UTC
Hi, I will be visiting Nuremberg in March this year from India and had a couple of questions.. - What is the weather like at that time? I will be coming from India which is really warm at that time, and want to be prepared for rain or cold - What is the best way for me to go to Geneva and how long would the journey be? - Its my first time in the city and I will be helping my dad with an exhibition but would like to spend a couple of days seeing the city... what areas/neighbourhoods would you recommend?
See you all soon!!!

Hauptbahnhof facilities Posted: Sat January 22, 2005 01:48 AM UTC
Dear friends,
I'm going to Nürnberg on April, by train, leaving from Prague. One of the options is to get the night train, but it reaches Nürnberg at 3 a.m., many hours before the hotel check-in.
I'd like to know if anyone has informations about luggage locker in Nurnberg Hbf. I've already used this service in Munich, and I found it very useful... unfortunatelly, with all this terrorist histery, some lockers in airports and train stations are closed (for example, Paris CDG and Heathrow...), and it would be important for me to get some updated information about the existence of a left-luggage service in Nurnberg Hauptbahnhof right now.
Thanks in advance.
