Help Plan After-work hours on a 4-day visit Posted: Tue March 17, 2009 01:22 PM UTC
I would be in Nuremberg from 24.05.09 to the evening of 27.05.09 for an official visit. Would I be able to see castles during evening hours? Where can I find local guides? and what would be their charges? What are the options of having vegetarian food in Nuremberg?
Kindly help.
Thanks in advance.

Nuremberg after work? Posted: Sun March 1, 2009 10:25 AM UTC
Hi,
I'll have to spend a week (Mar 7)in Nuremberg for work.
I will arrive on Sunday early afternoon. I plan to rush to quickly visit the castle: it already closes at 4pm! After that, I'll probably stroll around the old city, I've found a walking tour to print..
Now that should already give me a pretty good taste of the surroundings. Is there anything specific to do in the evenings?
Since I suspect not that much, beer and food will be what is left ;-)
I have already spotted a few place in the VT tips, a must seems to taste the Nurnberger in a a Bratwurst Hause(Barfüßer,Zur Goldenes Posthorn,...). Anything else I should absolutely taste?
I have also spotted two alternatives if I become fed up of German food ;-) : Mexican (Enchilada) and Indian (Sur Mandir)
Last question, is there anything specific running that week (starting March 7), most of the hotels were already full...
Thanks in advance for your help and any comment about my plans...

Nurnberg dilemma...please help! Posted: Fri January 30, 2009 05:01 PM UTC
During an upcoming river cruise we'll be taking we will be stopping in Nurnberg.
While there we have two choices in terms of sightseeing and was wondering which would be most recommended as the better option.
First, a "choice of touring the city's sites associated with World War II and its aftermath-including the famous Court House", or
"its walled medieval Old Town, including a visit to the home of 16th Century painter Albrecht Durer".
I must confess that I do enjoy history associated with WWII, however, I am open to option #2 as well.
What do I do? What do I do?

Nurnberg v Furth 23/11/08 Posted: Thu November 6, 2008 08:45 PM UTC
Dear all,
I will be in Frankfurt that weekend, however I would like to travel to Nurnberg for this game?
Will buying a ticket be easy on the day? also, what would be the cheapest way for 2 people to travel on the train from Frankfurt to Nurnberg? I take it a state train pass (Hessen) would not cover Northern Bavaria?
Kind Regards
Paul

Guest accomodation (or reduced payment)- for an Egyptian Professor Posted: Tue July 29, 2008 08:18 AM UTC
Dear Ladies and gentlemen
Greetings !
I will be visiting your gorgeous city for October 3-5, 2008 to attend the Ehrlich-II conference. As an invited speaker, they had planned originally to accommodate me for free. In virtue of the limited resources however they can not fulfill that need now. I hope to find a reasonable guest accommodation by a German family to better know about the community and the places of interests. I am willing to pay a reasonable fee for that purpose, if necessary. I visited Munchen, Frankfurt and Heidelberg before and hope to find a good company in your charming city.
with my kindest regards and best wishes to you all

Nurnberg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber Posted: Wed November 14, 2007 06:57 PM UTC
Four of us are traveling from Nurnberg to Rothenburg. We plan to use a Bayern ticket on the trains. Can I use the Bayern ticket to travel from Nurnberg to Rothenburg?
I believe we need to only take regional trains. Are these trains all regional?
RB & RE
The German train internet site (www.bahn.de) says that some of these trains are unavailable. Does this mean that the fares are unavailable? There will still be seats on the train, correct?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Danke!

good 3 or 4 stars hotels in Norimberg Posted: Thu July 26, 2007 02:49 PM UTC
Hello vts, i'll be in Norimberg, with my gf, for some days during august: from 16 to 20 of august. Can someone, please, indicate me some good 3 or 4 stars hotels (possibly not too much expensive)? I don't care if they are in the city center(maybe it's too noisy in the city center?), but it's important that they are in a quiet and safe area., and they have good connections by bus, with the city center.
If you have some other tips, or suggestions or anything else (also the chance to make a vt members meeting), please let me know here or to my vtmail or page.
Tnx to all of you

Bringing a school party of 35 people to Furth in June and wondering if anyone can recommend a restaurant in Furth preferably, or Nurnberg, that might be suitable for an evening meal. Cost will obviously be a consideration as well.
