Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid the traffic congestion on the Autobahn route that connects Munich and Innsbruck. I will be departing Munich on Saturday at noon and am expecting Stau along major stretches of the road.
Thanks,

Innsbruck Early Arrival - what to do at 5am?
Posted: Sun December 10, 2006 03:31 PM UTC
Anything to do in Innsbruck at 5am on a Saturday? Our train arrives from Florence at 4:30 and we are going to catch a train to Mayrhoven at noon. Wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on places to go or things to do and see at this hour in the City Center or near the train station. Also - is there a place in the train station that will hold luggage for a few hours (ie. large lockers etc)

Any info will be helpful. thanks.

Innsbruck Some questions...
Posted: Thu December 7, 2006 07:24 AM UTC
Is the Innsbruck card really a good deal in your opinion?

Could you recommend some healthy restaurant in town? I mean places where they cook simple and light meal.

Thanks a lot for your replies!

Innsbruck Innsbruck - Nice
Posted: Fri September 15, 2006 12:06 PM UTC
I'm trying to get from Innsbruck to Nice via train. What is the most straightforward route and is there any way of doing it so that it doesn't take three days and cost £300!! Is it easier to go to Germany and down or Italy and down?? Any other methods or travel/suggestions would be most appreciated, I will however, be with my Mum so the bus has already been canned!

Innsbruck Christmas
Posted: Wed July 19, 2006 03:42 PM UTC
I am planning Christmas in the snow and think Innsbruck looks fantastic. We might try skiing but its not the main reason for going...I know the Christmas markets will be running but will other shops/restaurants and attractions tend to be open between xmas and New year? I know the ski season has not really started at this time. Any hotel recommendations would be appreciated...somewhere that will serve a great Christmas dinner would be ideal!

Thanks

Innsbruck Trains to Venice then Rome
Posted: Mon July 17, 2006 12:00 AM UTC
Hi wonder if anyone can help.

I'm flying to Austria from London. From Graz/Salzburg i need to go to Innsbruck, on the 17/8 and would like to travel by train to Venice 18/8- stay 2 nights.
Then travel by train to Rome on the 20/8 (overnight) - stay 3 nights.

Finally return to London on 23/8.

I'm trying to find the prices and book a ticket from Innsbruck > Venice for the 18.08.2006. I've tried the website

http://fahrplan.oebb.at/bin/oebb.w02/query.exe/en

however when i put Venice as my To: destination i get an error:
'Your input is ambiguous. Please select from the selection list.'

Is there any way of knowing how much to budget for this journey by train ?
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction.

Thanking you all in advance.

Innsbruck Route Innsbruck to Zermatt

I am driving with my family Innsbruck to Zermatt on June 25th. I would like to take the scenic route and make a long day of it. Can you recommend a route that might dip into Italy for lunch? Or is that too ambitious?

Innsbruck Romantic Innsbruck?
Posted: Thu May 11, 2006 10:27 AM UTC
Hi all,
I am looking to take my girlfriend away for a weekend in mid December, somewhere romantic. I thought snow, mountains, stunning scenery would be ideal. Can anyone tell me if Innsbruck would tick all the boxes? We do both ski but with very different abilities (she is much better than me!) so is there enough to keep us busy for a couple of days without having to ski? I would love to do a night toboggan/sledge run but according to my research it only happens on a thursday night, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks for your help

Innsbruck I want to improve my German language
Posted: Sun April 2, 2006 11:34 AM UTC
I have been an Italian teacher of English in an Italian secondary school for a long time and would like to spend the period 21. July - 30. August in Innsbruck in order to improve my German. I can teach Italian and English, in return I do not want any money but only the opportunity to speak German for the purpose of communicating and improving it. Last summer the Frankfurt Goethe Institute rated my German at C.1.1. -C.1.2. level. I can also use the computer to make tables, charts, and qualitative and quantitative analysis.
I am a patient teacher.

Innsbruck Should I stay in Innsbruck or Bavaria?
Posted: Fri March 24, 2006 08:02 PM UTC
My wife and I and my two adult children (20's) are traveling from Venice Italy on April 10th to be in Munich airport Thursday, April 13th. We love art, castles, skiing, mountains, streams, waterfalls, archetecture, old towns, resturants with good food and views. We want to see the castles on the way through the Romantic Road, but since time is limited, where is it best to stay? Innsbruck or Bavaria or go staight to Munich from Venice? We are flexible with our schedule. We could stay and extra day in Venice or one less day (we don't know if we will enjoy Venice as much...heard it was a dirty city.) Any help you can give us, will be welcome.
thank you, Markalon.

Innsbruck Innsbruck is more beautiful in Winter?

Innsbruck is the Alps city....does it mean that it's more beautiful during Winter (with snow capped) than in Spring? I'm trying to decide between Innsbruck & Graz, and travelling in May.

Innsbruck Skip Innsburk?
Posted: Wed March 22, 2006 02:35 AM UTC
Im visiting Austria (Vienna & Salzburg) in early May. I dont ski, and was wondering if I should visit Innsburk? I read that you see beautify alps in Innsburk? Can I see similiar sights in Salzburg?

Will a day trip or 2D1N suffice for Innsburk? I believe the travelling time from Salzburg to Innsburk is approx 2 hrs?

From Austria, I'm planning to move up to Budapest. Anyone knows if there's transportation from Innsburk to Budapest. Do I have to return to Salzburg to move on to Budapest?

Thanks for the help!

Innsbruck what to expect for weather
Posted: Mon March 20, 2006 06:59 PM UTC
Hello,

We will be traveling from Bavaria to Austria then onto Switzerland in June. We plan to camp in a rented campervan.

What kind of weather can we expect during June? Are the nights really cold? Does it snow?

Sorry to be so native. We are from the central coast of California and have mild and warm weather all year long. Should we pack heavy coats and extra blankets?

Thank you in advance, Kylia

Innsbruck Cheap sleep suggestions Innsbruck
Posted: Tue January 3, 2006 04:31 AM UTC
We will be on a very tight budget at this point of our trip and are just trying to squeeze in just a few more days. We are considering booking a room at Pension Technikerhaus in July. Is anyone familiar or heard of anything about that place? The other consideration is Hotel Tauterman. We would appreciate your thoughts on this subject. Thank you.
