Innsbruck Snowboard Trip in Innsbruck for 5D in Jan 10!!
Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 03:12 PM UTC
Will be flying into Munich, Germany on 30 Dec and would like to drive around for a week, before going to Innsbruck for snowboarding on 6 Jan.

- Suggested Itinerary in Germany or Austria for 5-6 days enroute from Munich to Innsbruck. It is unfortunate that I will miss the X'mas markets (esp the one in Garmisch, which I hear is beautiful!) :( Any other suggestions, esp to celebraate NY Eve?
- Suggested place to stay in Innsbruck, for purpose of snowboarding. Looking for quaint chalet with live-in chef or something.
- Any other tips and/or suggetions!

Posted: Thu July 2, 2009 08:31 PM UTC
Has anyone been to the Swarvoski Crystal store in Innsbruck? Is everything in the store at full retail price? Do they have sale? If not, I thought I would just buy my gifts here in So California at the mall.

Innsbruck Worth renting a car for our 12 day trip to Austria?
Posted: Tue May 19, 2009 04:43 AM UTC
My family of 4 is planning a trip to Austria in August. We plan on flying into Munich, renting a car and driving to Innsbruck. Has anyone rented a car and driven this route? Was is an easy drive? Worth renting a car? Any problems or suggestions? We also thought we could take small trips with the car to sight see off the beaten path.

Innsbruck easy mountain walks near Innsbruck?
Posted: Sun March 29, 2009 01:31 AM UTC
My wife and I are planning a week in Innsbruck in July and would like some recommendations for easy mountain walks nearby for day trips. I wonder if we would be better off to spend a few days in a nearby mountain location instead of the whole week in Innsbruck for that purpose. We are active "seniors" so we walk for 3 or 4 hours on most of our mountain hikes and we like to find lift to take us up to scenic trails.

Innsbruck Not to be missed???
Posted: Tue February 24, 2009 06:57 AM UTC
Hi, VT members!
I am planning to stay in Bad Hofgeistan for 4 days in June first week. And I find that Salzberg and Innsberk are interesting places to see.
Now I seek ur advice are both of them really not to be missed out to see? Or I can just take a trip to Salzberg as it is nearer. I have a fancy for Crystal museum. I have just seen it in the itenarys of the tours. Is this museum also something worth seeing and not to be missed???
Thanks in advance for the guidance!!!

Innsbruck Innsbruck in May
Posted: Wed February 18, 2009 06:23 AM UTC
My friends and I will be stopping over in Innsbruck for 1 day on our way to Zurich in early May. How's the weather then? We're from a really tropical country so what might be warm to the locals might be a tad cold for us. Also, what can we do for 1 day there? what are the best sights to see?
Thanks for the help!

Innsbruck Innsbruck to Munich airport
Posted: Tue August 12, 2008 09:09 PM UTC
Hi Innsbruck,
My wife and I are staying in Innsbruck at the Austria-Trend Congress Innsbruck in a few weeks. After being in town for a few days we will be going from the hotel to Munich airport on a Sunday am to catch a plane - we need to be there quite early - by 9am. Can anyone suggest the easiest (and quickest)way to get there and how long it would take? I'm guessing a shuttle or something similar would be best as we'll have bags and be hustling.
Also suggestions for any MUST sees in and around Innsbruck this time of ther year??
Thanx in advance for your input...

Innsbruck skiing in stubaier-Gletscher
Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 02:35 PM UTC
Hi everyone,

I'm planning to have a day skiing trip in Stubaier-Gletscher in Sept and I saw that there is a ski package on http://www.stubaier-gletscher.com/

Super-Skipackage(EUR 54,00):
One day skiing incl.return bus transfer from Innsbruck, day pass on the Stubai Glacier, on-site rental of winter sports equipment. EUR 54,00

Did anyone try this before? Is it worth to join or is cheaper if I do it myself.

by the way, did anyone have the bus schedule between Innsbruck and Mutterberg? so that I can better arrange my time in Innsbruck.

Thanks in advance!

Innsbruck Buying DB-ticket( Bayern) in Innsbruck

HI, I have posted this question earlier on Austria forum, Taking the advise of another VT member,It is perhaps better to post it here instead.

My family and I are taking train from Innsbruck to Bavaria region passing Mittenwald to Garmisch-P. I would like to find out if I can buy Bayern ticket in Innsbruck instead of getting down at Mittenwald. Does anyone know whether there is a DB-ticket automat/DB-ticket counter at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof?

Innsbruck Hiking in October
Posted: Mon July 21, 2008 07:25 AM UTC
Hi there,

I may go to Innsbruck in October and would like to hike but I'm not sure if I can do it during the time. Could anyone give me some advice?

If the hiking service isn't avialable, what activity I should do? I'd like to appreciate the nature, not only the city.

And from Cesky Krumlov, how can I go to the city?

Thank you in advance.

Innsbruck Innsbruck Card
Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 03:30 PM UTC
Hi all,

We will be traveling to Innsbruck and will spend 2 nights there.. we are planning to visit the major city attractions and we learnt that the innsbruck card offers free museum entry ++ . However, the card is quite expensive and the local daily transportation is pretty reasonable. Do you think the innsbruck card is useful if we are planning on visiting these sites?.. I mean is the card valid for these places and which card should I buy(if any at all) 1 day or 2 days??

I will be visiting : The Golden Room, Triumphal Arch, St James Cathedral, St. Jacob Cathedral, Stadturm, Ambrass CAstle, Swarovski Crystal World(may be), Bergisel Ski Jump(just for the view)

I am going to stay in Art Binders Hotel in Dr.-Glatz-Strasse 20, Innsbruck, AT 6020. The hotel is about 2 km from old innsbruck and 1.5 km fom town center
Please advise if I should get an innsbruck card!!

Thanks

Innsbruck 50th Birthday trip
Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 05:20 PM UTC
Hi there. Found these forums by accident but what I have read has been very helpful. Hubby is treating me to a few nights in Austria for my 50th birthday (lucky me!!).

If you don't mind, could I ask a few questions. We are flying in to Munich on a Sunday at the end of April at around lunchtime and then going to see if we can get on the right train to arrive in Innsbruck. Have booked room at Hotel Olberg Hohenstrasse 52 6020 Innsbruck. Have no idea how far away from Innsbruck centre it is at all. Presume taxi would be the answer?? Is public transport easy to use bearing in mind neither of us speak German! May even consider hiring a car for a day as would like to have a look around whilst we are there.

Any advice as to where to eat and also where to avoid (No dietry conditions to worry about!)??

Lastly probably the most difficult question of all what to pack. I assume that if we decide to have a trip up into the mountains, it might be sunny and warm down in the town but still cold up the top?? So I presume a bit of both.

Sorry to have rambled on a bit. Thanks in anticipation of any replies.

Innsbruck Spring in Innsbruck
Posted: Sun March 2, 2008 01:00 PM UTC
Hi there,

I'm looking to do a hiking trip to Innsbruck, but am having trouble determining exactly when spring begins there. If I took to the trails the first week of May, would that be too soon? (Don't want to worry about trail closure bc of snow, and would love some wildflowers too!)

Thanks for your advice,

Innsbruck Innsbruck Transport systems
Posted: Sat September 29, 2007 02:38 PM UTC
Hi there
We will be in Innsbruck for 2 -3 days in October, but we are concerned about getting around without having to pay too much. We are from south Africa and dont have good transport systems in our country so riding trains and having to change trains at certain points is very scary for us. Also our exchange rate is R10 = 1 Euro, so as you can see a holiday works out very expensive for us so we have to stick to a budget and still have a good time. Any advice would be appreciated please.
Thanks
