Vanuatu Vanuatu: which island chose to visit - Espiritu Santo Is. or Tanna Is. in May?
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 11:03 PM UTC
I have to make a difficult choice, which island to vist Espiritu Santo or Tanna this year May? No other island does fit my flight schedule.

Both seems to be quite appelaing. I've been once just on Efatu for few days.

Espiritu Santo seems to have better accomodation options and nicer beaches, but Tanna offers volcano exoitics.

Anyone who 've been at both places, can help to make a choice, please?

Vanuatu Cruise Ports @ Mystery Island & Wala - Malaria?
Posted: Fri February 29, 2008 11:29 AM UTC
I am going on a P&O Cruise in May that docks for the day in Wala and then at Mystery Island.

I was told by my doctor that antimalarial tablets are required however on a website I believe to be linked with P&O regarding these ports it states that they do not dock at areas where malaria is found so repellent and protective clothing will be sufficient.

What have others experienced and who's advice would you follow?

Thanks

Vanuatu A day in Port Vila
Posted: Mon November 19, 2007 02:30 AM UTC
We are visiting Vila on a P&O Cruise and am interested to know what we should do while we are there. I'm not interested in any of the organised tours from the ship as sitting in a coach for the day doesn't do it for me. Any advice from previous cruisers would be appreciated.

Port-Vila First Time Tripper to Vanuatu
Posted: Wed August 15, 2007 11:32 AM UTC
This year's holiday takes me to Australia for Christmas to visit my sister. As a surprise for her birthday I have booked a flight to Vanuatu from 5-14 January but have no idea where to stay. Obviously quiet romantic places for honeymooners is off the list. She likes shops and lazing by the pool while I prefer the beach and exploring. We both like eating out and visiting the bars after dark. I am flying from London and my sister lives in Brisbane.

Your best suggestions please? I used the VT forum for my trip to Mexico last year and it proved invaluable.

Posted: Wed February 21, 2007 04:29 PM UTC
Hi im a soon-to-be student going to the pacific islands for pre-uni travel. The air vanuatu site isnt very clear. How often do flights run between Efate and Ambrym and how much do they cost?
Im very interested in the volcanoes on Tanna and Ambrym, so how long is enough on Efate to take in all the sights? 3 days?

Thanks in advance for your replies

Also wondering if anyone has stayed at Poppy's? Or Benjor Beach Club? There are six of us, my husband and me, my daughter and her fiance and our two sons so ideally we want a three room bungalow and these are the only two I've been able to find.

Hi I'm organising a diving holiday to vanuatu to port vila, hideaway island, hat island and santo. I have heard conflicting reports about diving around hideaway island and port vila. Is it worth diving in these areas or am I better to stay and dive in santo for longer?

Thankyou

I’m a uni student who's going over with 2 girlfriends in early February and though we know there isn't much "nightlife" does anyone have any tips on where we should go for a good night out? bars, restaurants, clubs etc. Also we were considering doing the jungle paint ball trip.. Is it worth it?

Are malaria tablets important for a one week holiday based in Port Vila but with some other trips to more remote parts. Doc seems to think so but perhaps this is an overreaction?

Beer Beer and air transport.
Posted: Sun October 8, 2006 11:34 AM UTC
If anyone has advice on traveling by air with beer please email me.
Specifically, I am looking for answers regarding the integrity of bottled
beer in the cargo hold of commercial airliner. I am returning to Kansas City, via
Newark, from Rome, and plan to put beer on my check in luggage because the new
rules o not allow it on carry-on. I want to know if the bottles will burst.

Desperately seeking answer ASAP.
