Wellesley Resort - Korolevu, Coral Coast Posted: Thu September 4, 2008 07:26 AM UTC
Hi There, I after some opinions (and a little help) regarding The 4 star Wellesley Resort at Korolevu, on Fiji's Coral Coast. I am looking at flying out from Sydney & staying at the resort 09/11/08 - 16/11/08.. and a really just after some opinions as to what the Resort is like??? Also, I am wondering just how secluded the resort is - can you walk to nearby village for dinner or simply to see fijian life .. or is the resort totally cut-off? The answer to that really dictates if I take the $2170 pakage option incld. breakfast, or the $3000 package option that is fully inclusive - all foods/drinks/alcohol... any suggestions or feedback would be great!

8 hour layover in Fiji Posted: Fri July 25, 2008 09:59 PM UTC
I have a eight hour layover in Fiji on my way to Tonga from LAX for a medical mission. Any suggestions of how to spend that time? We arrive at 5:30am, so perhaps a nice breakfast or brunch. On the return trip we have an 11 hour layover from 11am until 10pm.

Solo Traveller Posted: Sat July 19, 2008 12:36 AM UTC
Can anyone recommend a good place in Fiji to stay (not to expensive but not dodgy either haha) for a solo traveller? I am not interested in a party resort or anything like that, just a nice, relatively quiet place, where I can enjoy my own company and sit in the restaurant / bar / whatever without being bothered or feeling uncomfortable. I would prefer something on or very near the beach, either Coral Coast or one of the islands. Open to other suggestions - just not near the airport! Basically, I am after a quiet and relaxing break as a present to myself for my 30th!

Surfing in Fiji Posted: Mon June 23, 2008 02:45 PM UTC
Hi,
My boyfriend and me are thinking of going to Fiji some time between October and December this year. Are there any surfing spots that you can recommend? We are not very experienced surfers (body boarding actually) so we would prefer if the waves were not too big and preferably beach breaks. Ideally, it wouldn't be a busy and full of tourists/surfers place but rather quiet, relaxing, paradise like.
Thanks for all replies in advance.
Cheers

Nanuya Island Resort Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 10:16 PM UTC
I just read an article on this resort and the Octopus Resort in my local newspaper. We are looking for a place to go in December. How would you rate either of these resorts? Also, what is the currency equivalent to the American dollar. The quoted rates are in Fiji dollars. Thanks.

photographer going to fiji, advice please Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 08:02 AM UTC
Hello travelers,
I am a photographer on my way to Fiji June 3. I only have 4 days there as part of a stop over to the US. I shoot stock images and want to go to amazing beaches to shoot. I only have a small budget and was thinking that one of the Islands would give me the shots I want. I will be traveling alone and will need private accommodation so I can lock away my cameras at night.
Can anyone recommend somewhere with reasonable rates on rooms, I am willing to pay A$ 100 per night and with amazing white sand beaches. Seems there are some many islands it is hard to work out which one will be best.
Thanks everyone...

Itinerary for 2 week stay in Fiji Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 05:57 AM UTC
Does anyone have a recommended itinerary for a 2 week stay in Fiji? Is it possible to explore the highlands in Viti Levu, visit a few islands in the Yasawas and the Lomaivitis? I would like to explore more of Fiji than just the resorts, but don't want to spend a lot of time and money traveling around.
Any recommendations?

Accomodation in Yasawas Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 05:54 AM UTC
Hello,
I've started researching accomodations for a trip to Fiji in July. It seems that most of the choices are resorts, where all meals and drinks must be purchased while staying there. Are there other options, such as stores and backpacker cafes/bars? Also, it sounds like there isn't internet or ATM access on these islands, is this correct?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

One Week Stay in Fiji--May 2008 Posted: Wed April 9, 2008 09:31 PM UTC
We have been living in New Zealand for a couple of months and have decided to extend our trip a week and go the Fiji before flying home to California. My husband and I have a 1 1/2 yr. old child and want safe accomodations, but also not overly expensive. My husband has been working very hard here in NZ and we are looking for a relaxing getaway. Can we find this in Fiji, or are we better off going to Hawaii instead? We have been to most of the Hawaiian islands and would like something different.
I have also noticed many travel warnings online and am concerned about our safety as Americans traveling to Fiji. Should I be concerned? Please help!

Fiji trip in October Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 08:42 PM UTC
My wife and I are thinking about planning a trip to Fiji this October. We will be travelling with a few single friends. We know nothing about Fiji and are just beginning our research. We were wondering what part of the islands are best that time of year weather wise, and we also want to know where there is good nightlife for the single friends to meet guys/girls. Any insight will help.

Questions regarding long-term stay in Fiji Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 07:16 AM UTC
I received a 4 month sabbatical from work (my husband and I run nonprofits in Alaska) and my husband, 2 year old twins and I are planning to spend our time in Fiji. We are mostly interested in finding a place to live verses lots of traveling around. So are looking for a longterm rental. Any suggestions on islands and any advice on how to find a longterm rental. Do you think we need to have it lined up before we go or could we get a week long and find a place once we are there? Are prices better once you are there verses on internet? Any ideas on prices. We would like 1 to 2 bedrooms, close to a nice calm beach, kitchen... We will be there Sept through Dec 08. Thanks for any advice.
Oh also another poster says the beaches in Fiji have lots of sharp shells and not nice sand? Any truth to that. First I heard of it but want to make sure not the case as young kids a foot....

Surf Destination - mid April Posted: Mon March 24, 2008 08:16 AM UTC
Hi all,
Looking for good vibes, waves and economical accomodations for 7 days this April. My buddy and I would like to spend less than $150 USD per day for food & lodging, boat transfers to waves. Can it be done, and where? Looking into Mana islands and Mana Surf services for transport but open to any, all suggestions. Wherever it is, it needs to be a boat ride away from Nadi, no funds for airfare.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Wedding Suggestions for Son & Fiancee Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 12:18 PM UTC
My son and his fiancee have decided they would like to be married in Fiji in the second half of 2009. Budget will be an issue for them and some guests.
They don't want a big sit down reception in a 4/5 star resort which they can do in Australia. They would prefer something more laid back and with a local flavor.
Would appreciate any suggestions on what, where, how - they can make their dream come true.
They have never been to Fiji and I have not visited for over 30 years.

Fiji in May - one week! Where to go/stay etc!! HELP Posted: Mon March 3, 2008 11:15 AM UTC
Two friends and I are going to be stopping off in Fiji for one week in May during our RTW trip. We are on a budget but want to get as much out of our short stay on the islands as possible.
We are keen to experience the real Fiji, and don't want a totally drunk backpacker type stay ( i have got the impression this is what Beachcomber is like?) however, we are keen to meet some other backlpackers so a mix would be good!
Any recommendations would be more than welcome, and any info on best places to do PADI or scuba would also be ace...
If you're there at the same time as us, then get in touch!

If so, will it affect local transport, shop opening times etc?
