Birmingham Where is the metal?
Posted: Fri November 3, 2006 01:57 PM UTC
A group of friends are going to be in Birmingham and want to find the "birthplace" of metal music. More specifically we are looking for the studio where Black Sabbath rehearsed and any other cultural places relating to Heavy Metal.

Thanks.

Birmingham from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Moor Street
Posted: Sat September 9, 2006 05:15 PM UTC
how long does it take to walk from Birmingham New Street station to Birmingham Moor Street station? I'll arrive at New Street around 19:30 and have to catch another train (Chilterntrains)departing to Stratford-upon-Avon at Moor Street.

About changing trains, I have to change to another train again at Harron (but also with Chilterntrains), do I need to change to another platform, if yes, is it just opposite? Because according to the schedule on internet, there are only 8 minutes left for that.

Thanks for any help.

Birmingham T-mobile Fan Park
Posted: Tue June 6, 2006 03:15 PM UTC
I have heard about it on the radio, read about it on the internet and saw a story about it on the news last night, but I need to know from anyone who lives in or has been to Brum in the last few days!

What is it like? I was thinking about going there for the opening match on friday (Germany v Costa Rica) and just wanted to know how the whole set up looks, will it be really good going, is the location right in the city centre (near the Art Museum, Library, etc.)?

My only other option is to watch the match on german TV at home, so I think the short trip to Brum would be worth it, especially since it is free entry for non-england matches!

Birmingham Shopping in Birmingham
Posted: Tue April 18, 2006 05:38 PM UTC
Hi! I've got a couple of hours to go shopping in Birmingham on Friday. Can anyone suggest a good place to go (like a mall) which has lots of shops in the same place? I'd particularly like to go to Primark, New Look and Au Natural if there are any of these. I'll be arriving at the airport and going to the train station, and wont have a car.
Thanks!

Hey people!!

I live in Rugby at the mo with my daughter but I am seriously considering moving a bit further north...can anyone tell me the nicest most picturesque(!!) areas around Birmingham? Ive been to Water Orton a few times and it's pretty nice there, but there must be more villages and small towns with good schools and a good atmosphere... If anyone can recommend anywhere, please let me know!

Thanks very muchly!

Birmingham Cheap accomodation near Birmingham Airport?
Posted: Wed January 11, 2006 12:08 PM UTC
Hi there. My flight arrives in Birmingham on a Saturday about 10pm and I don't believe that there is a YHA in Birmingham. There is a hostel in Oxford but according to the bus and train timetables the last connection from Birmingham( city and aiport) is 9pm.
There is a novotel at the airport but costs about £70 per night.
Does anybody know of cheaper accomodation either near the airport or in the city?

Thanks, Tom.

Birmingham *BAR / CLUB WORK IN BIRMINGHAM*
Posted: Wed December 21, 2005 11:40 PM UTC
Hi..last Monday 12/12/05 myself and everyone at my work got told we were all getting made redundant on Thursday 15/12/05...not nice...especially 2weeks before christmas...anyway...the bars/clubs where i live are crap & i guess im a big fish in a very small pond which is slowing becoming extinct...so now iv told you the story...lets get down to business...

What i'm looking for: 'LIVE-IN' Bar / Club job...full time...id prefer to work in a place which played RnB and Hip Hop but chart music i could put up with...its very important that the place has a live-in facility or helps provide me with somewhere to stay...i dont mind fully paying but their own accommodation would be very helpfull...if not...do you know any nice...cheap...good area places to stay?...

Well thanks for reading this and i look forward to hearing from you...thanks again and Merry Christmas to you all an Happy New Year...xxxx
