I am traveling from USA to Birmingham, England and I would like to have a mobile phone to use while there. Does anyone know if I can purchase a pre-paid disposable phone at the Birmingham airport to use for local calls while in the UK? If not can I rent one at the airport or in one of the towns? Details appreciated.

New Year's Eve` Posted: Sat December 30, 2006 09:58 PM UTC
Is there a celebration on New Years eve in Birmingham this year? I'm told that there is one at Centenary Square every year, but I can find no mention on any website.
Has it moved?
Or is Birmingham not having a community one this year?

A group of friends are going to be in Birmingham and want to find the "birthplace" of metal music. More specifically we are looking for the studio where Black Sabbath rehearsed and any other cultural places relating to Heavy Metal.
Thanks.

from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Moor Street Posted: Sat September 9, 2006 06:15 PM UTC
how long does it take to walk from Birmingham New Street station to Birmingham Moor Street station? I'll arrive at New Street around 19:30 and have to catch another train (Chilterntrains)departing to Stratford-upon-Avon at Moor Street.
About changing trains, I have to change to another train again at Harron (but also with Chilterntrains), do I need to change to another platform, if yes, is it just opposite? Because according to the schedule on internet, there are only 8 minutes left for that.
Thanks for any help.

Shopping in Birmingham Posted: Tue April 18, 2006 06:38 PM UTC
Hi! I've got a couple of hours to go shopping in Birmingham on Friday. Can anyone suggest a good place to go (like a mall) which has lots of shops in the same place? I'd particularly like to go to Primark, New Look and Au Natural if there are any of these. I'll be arriving at the airport and going to the train station, and wont have a car.
Thanks!
