Brighton Brighton in May
Posted: Sat March 22, 2008 11:46 AM UTC
As mentioned in a previous post I plan to go to Brighton for the day during the festival in May. What I would like to know is if the Hop On Hop Off bus will run during the festival and if I will need any other transport to get around. Won't have a car.
Thanks.

Brighton Brighton Festival 2008
Posted: Mon November 5, 2007 11:52 AM UTC
Hi,
I have found out by chance, browsing on the net, that Brighton has a festival in May. I will be in London for 6 days and am wondering if a day trip to Brighton would be a good idea or if it would be too frantically busy. Have never been to Brighton and would love to see it.
Thanks, Norah

Brighton Hilton West Pier???
Posted: Wed April 25, 2007 05:27 PM UTC
I am trying to find the Hilton West Pier, but to no avail. The phone numbers listed on this site don't work...does anyone know how I can contact them? I've called Hilton and they don't even show that this hotel exists, and told me that it is the same at the Hilton Metropole, but that is not what I've found elsewhere.

Help!

Could you also recommend me some good and inexpensive places to eat.

Thanks!

Finding myself mad enough to brave life and limb by being blown off the pier at Pickledonions' Christmas shenanigans in Brighton below....

I'm trying to find a hotel on Marine Parade and having a bit of trouble by normal googling means. Anyone help please? (all the affordable rooms at the Atlanta have gone).

Thanks in advance.

Brighton Brighton Rock....the sweet....not the book
Posted: Wed August 16, 2006 05:16 PM UTC
I might not have taken notice of Brighton if not for the documentary showing the making of the Brighton Rock. However, I couldnt find any information online as to where in Brighton this sweet is made.

I'd love to visit the shop when we fly to UK from Singapore in September, even better if we could have a factory visit to see in person how this sweet is made.

Any VTers gone for such tours or could provide a lead?

Brighton Hen night advice
Posted: Tue July 25, 2006 03:19 PM UTC
Hello
Can anyone recommend a decent bar in Brighton that I can take a well-behaved group of hens? We want somewhere stylish, with lots of seating that has a dance floor and a late license. Music that would generally appeal to most people. I'm trying to avoid walking around at midnight looking for a club!

Thanks a bunch.

Brighton Weekend Away
Posted: Mon June 12, 2006 06:25 PM UTC
There is a small group of us looking to go away for the weekend, was looking a Newquay which looks awesome but its just to far away. We are now looking for similar places such as Bornemouth and Brighton and was wondering if anyone can help by letting us know of campsites that are close to the beach and won't mind a small group of lads?

Brighton Good cheap place to stay
Posted: Wed May 10, 2006 04:49 PM UTC
Hi everyone
A mate and I are going down to Brighton this weekend and need somewhere good to stay, probably in a dorm. Our preferences (call me picky...) are:

Somewhere with lots of travellers, not stag do's etc
Somewhere with no curfew, as we'll probably fancy a few beers
Somewhere within easy walking distance of the centre

If anyone knows of places, please give me a shout.

Brighton Travel to London
Posted: Wed January 25, 2006 11:45 AM UTC
I wanted to know if it better to travel to Brighton with a 4 month old baby in a 7 seater or take a train.

the 7 seater gives us the option of starting and ending the trip the way we want to. However we would be contarined by the train times. This trip will just be a day trip.

What is the distance between Brighton & Docklands area in London. How much time does it take to reach Brighton.

Please suggest

Brighton Brighton Move Update
Posted: Sat July 23, 2005 01:51 PM UTC
Thank you for your replies to our question about pros and cons of Brighton. The positive response we got from some of you was a nice balance to the pressure to stay that is being placed on us by our families who, though they mean well, are actually succeeding only in making an already difficult decision even harder. My wife and I will be arriving in the UK on the 3rd of August and we kind of need to hit the ground running.

So, now that we've decided to move to Brighton, the only question that remains is where. I've been looking locations up on the internet but I'd really appreciate some input from actual residents. We need to live in walking distance from the train station, but not too near.

Any thoughts?

Brighton Should i stay or should i go now?
Posted: Wed June 15, 2005 01:41 AM UTC
Hello all,

First post, so be gentle. My wife and I are planning on moving from Toronto CA to Brighton in August; i'm taking up a teaching post in Crawley and she's got a UK passport, so work isn't really an issue. We're moving because the teaching post is pretty wonderful and I've always wanted to live by the sea. Plus, everything that I've read about the city has gelled with our personalities. My only concern is that the bulk of the material to which i have access is pumped onto the net by some tourist commission or another. So...

We would both appreciate an honest appraisal of life in Brighton. Ups and downs. Things we should look out for as well as things we should look forward to. I know that some feedback from actual residents would make us feel a lot more secure in a decision to move.

I should say that we lived just outside of Reading last year, so we're not entirely unfamiliar.

Also, any advice on areas to start looking for flats would be wonderful.

Thanks!
