| Bude | Things to Do with Teenagers June 9-16 Posted: Sat May 27, 2006 12:02 AM UTC
We are two families arriving with a total of four teenagers, ages 13, 13, 16 and 16. We want to do a combination of exploring Cornwall, e.g., Tintagel, St. Ives, St. Michael's Mount, Eden Project (maybe) and some fun leisure activities, e.g., walking, swimming, horsebackriding, etc.
We like ancient and medieval ruins and places of natural beauty. When we go to St. Ives and St. Michael's Mount, how heavy do you think the traffic will be? Is it any better to go on a week day as opposed to a weekend? Any good restaurant suggestions would be very appreciated, too. Are there any interesting destinations to the north in Devon? Thanks so much for any advice you can offer. |

| Bude | Dog friendly pubs - Bude area Posted: Sun May 22, 2005 06:41 PM UTC
Anyone know of good dog friendly pubs in the Bude area please? (or surrounding areas, e.g. Between Newquay to Bude) I know the Brasserie on the canal allow dogs but don't know anywhere else. As we are going in September it would be nice to know of pubs that allow them inside the pub too (obviously not the restaurant areas but maybe for bar meals).
Cheers! Gredbo |

| Bude | Bude tides Posted: Mon May 9, 2005 06:39 PM UTC
Hi, I'm planning a trip to Bude either on Sept 17th or Sept 24th for one week. Trouble is I can't find out when will be the best week to go tidewise! Last year we went from Sept 16th and the tide was in all day for most of the week. We love to walk from Summerleaze right along to Sandymouth across the beach but this, of course, is impossible if the tide isn't right. Does anyone know where I can find the tide times online? I know there is a booklet produced in Bude and, annoyingly, I was in Cornwall last week and didn't think to buy one at the time! Aah!
(Also, the tide height is important too, as the higher the tide comes in the further it goes out) Does anyone know this info? Trouble is I need to know asap because I've got to let the lady we are booking the flat from know very soon (nothing like a bit of pressure, huh?!)(sorry) Hope someone out there can help me, Cheers, Gredbo |

| Bude | Looking for 5K Races in SW UK last two weeks of May. Posted: Sun April 18, 2004 11:15 AM UTC
We're staying in Crackington Haven, close to Bude the last two weeks of May. I've never been to England and have a friend coming with me who runs. Do you know who I could contact to find out what's going on in SW England that time of year?
Also any helpful hints on the temperature at that time, what types of clothing to bring. We've rented a house on the ocean front close to National trust walking trails that go up and down the coast. Also what about daily bus tours? Any hints there. We've rented a car for the two weeks also. |
