Cardiff Transport after rugby world cup quarter-final in Cardiff
Posted: Thu August 9, 2007 03:46 PM UTC
Hi I am going to the quarter-final rugby world cup game in Cardiff on the 6th of October. I couldn't get accommodation in Cardiff, so I am staying in Bristol, thinking I would be able to get a train after the game. I just checked train times, and it seems the last train is at 9.55pm, which is too early. Does anyone know if there are plans to put more trains on line? Any other suggestions for transport back to Bristol at about 11pm? Thanks,

K

Cardiff Rugby World Cup- accomodation (14th- 17th Sept)
Posted: Tue April 3, 2007 09:56 AM UTC
Hi i am after after cheap accomodation (for myself and two others) for the 14th- 17th september (Rugby World Cup). if any one has any advice or know of any options it would be much appreciated. Is Cardiff Uni an option to stay? We are not after anything to flash, but some where which is relatively close to the stadium, and that gives us a place to sleep. It seems accomodation is at a premium for this period, so any help people could give would be invaluable. Send me an email if u could. cheers.

Cardiff From London to Cardiff
Posted: Fri March 2, 2007 07:05 AM UTC
Hello,
I would like to ask what is the best and cheapest way to travel from London to Cardiff? We need to be there at 16pm 12 of March, and in the same day we are planing to be back to London. So it will be great if somebody will give advise how to go (because this is the first our visit to UK) and what is possible to see in a few hours there.
Thank you!

Cardiff Anyone wanna join the welcoming party for diocletianvs?
Posted: Fri February 2, 2007 01:02 AM UTC
Cardiff has an important visitor from Serbia, Niksa aka VT member 'diocletianvs' (and partner). He will be here for the weekend of the 16/17 February. Will any of you Cardiff VT members be around for that weekend? It would be good to get a small welcoming party together in a traditional Cardiff hostelry of some description! That would either be the Friday or the Saturday evening, for drinks and maybe a meal too...

Cardiff Short-term job in Cardiff?
Posted: Thu November 30, 2006 09:45 PM UTC
Hey! I'm planning to go abroad from April or so to go on a little 'European Tour' for about half a year to try working and living in cities where I know someone. I have a friend in Cardiff who will try to help me with a job for a couple of months over there, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask in here if anyone had any suggestions? Doesn't matter much what it is really. As long as it can pay for my stay there I would be happy. Any help appreciated :)

Cheers!

Cardiff cardiff or another place?
Posted: Wed November 29, 2006 09:39 AM UTC
Hey all, I am going to be in Birmingham with my girlfriend on December 14 and 15 (Thursday & Friday) and we thought about heading over to Wales for the weekend. This will be our first trip to Wales (she is Swedish, I'm from NZ). We fly out of London on the Sunday night, Dec 17. Are we best to head to Cardiff for Friday and Saturday night, or perhaps a small town nearer Birmingham? We just want to get a feel for the country (albeit extremely brief) and have no particular agenda of things we want to do. Any suggestions on where to go/what to do would be awesome! Cheers!!

Cardiff Cheap? car hire
Posted: Thu November 23, 2006 09:01 PM UTC
Any suggestions about a cheap car hire at Cardiff airport ?

I had seen many options online but none of them say how much is Full cover (only priced for partial cover).

I had used Hertz before and they seem to give me the best price, but if you know any better one, please let us know! :-)

I opened my big mouth and have now found myself organizing a trip for me and 5 other rugby players to watch the world cup in 2007. Does anyone know of cheap places to stay close to millenium staduim in september 2007. Stumble distance would be prefered. Is it too far ahead to book, anyone have a floor? Thanks

Cardiff Child-friendly restaurants?
Posted: Mon July 31, 2006 09:17 PM UTC
hi,

we are a family of three soon coming to Cardiff for a few days. I've already booked the hotel (Sandringham), but would appreciate help with restaurants in the area. We are looking for nice, simple places where a 1.5 years old toddler would also get something to eat! - preferably on a high chair. Lunch places should be close to shopping malls ;) but dinner restaurants can be a bit further, however all within a walking distance from Millenium Stadium. Italian food is always great, but we are open for anything! Not too pricey, though, and not high-end places that require a tie! The toddler will eat anything that is not very spicy hot and can be eaten with only front teeth... And another thing, how much should we tip? I am completely at sea with tipping as tips are not expected here in Finland... I always end up giving too much or too little abroad...

Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
