Best way to get from Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow??? Posted: Sun March 2, 2008 05:17 AM UTC
Hello all,
My fiance and I are traveling to Glasgow via Edinburgh Airport (don't ask...), and we would like to know the easiest way to get from Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow. We will have a lot of baggage so we would really like to avoid multiple stops and transfers. What do you all recommend?
Thanks in advance!

Etap - Springfield Quay Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 04:41 PM UTC
Hi all
I'm coming to Glasgow later this month but a severe travel addiction means that I don't have much money for accommadation. I was thinking of staying in the Etap hotel at Springfield Quay. However, although it does not look too far from the centre I did notice on the map that the Clyde and the M8 stand between the hotel and the city centre. How easy is it to get around? Anyone know about public transport?

Spending the Summer in Glasgow Posted: Fri January 18, 2008 12:03 PM UTC
Myself and a couple of friends are thinking of working for the summer in Britain. There're a few cities we are considering going to and to help us narrow our (very long) list I was just wondering if anyone would like to offer some input as to whether or not Liverpool would be a good choice for the summer.
We'd be looking for somewhere where
- Job availibility won't be a problem
- A decent nightlife for 20 year olds
- Cheap cost of living, or at least, not expensive
- There's a nice amount of touristy things to do.
Really, REALLY appreciate feedback!

Five days in Glasgow Posted: Sun November 11, 2007 02:47 PM UTC
I am going to Glasgow for a conference but I have extended my stay to go sightseeing. Besides the museums, art galleries and shops I have checked already I want to know if there is any day trip available to go to Loch Ness in Winter (I am going in November...).
And any other off the beaten path info people who have been there already want to share, regarding culture and scottish customs.
Thank you.

Athens to Glasgow Posted: Mon October 15, 2007 12:23 PM UTC
I would like to know which airlines are the best and most reliable, as well as economical, for booking on-line tickets to Glasgow from Athens, Greece. Are there possibly any direct flights? My friend here in Athens wants to go to Glasgow on the 23rd October and return to Athens on the 30-31st October.
Does anyone possibly know of any good discount or package deals at this time of the year?
Thank you for your help in advance. Janet in Athens

Weekend Break in / around Glasgow Posted: Mon September 24, 2007 11:36 AM UTC
Seeking advice in the interests of International Relations....
I've got a friend coming over from India to visit us in Oxford next month and he's posed a tricky question for me??
After seeing us, he's off on a business trip to Glasgow to see a cusomer on Friday and then he's got a weekend to kill before taking the train back down to Leeds for some more business on Monday.
He's asked me what I would suggest he does with his weekend in Glasgow I think he's looking for a break into the country. Not knowing the area that well I've suggested Loch Lomond but not sure if thats a bit far.
Another thing I have to bear in mind is that he's not going to be getting a hire car or anything like that so he's reliant on public transport.
I know this is a bit vague but he's only over for a short while and I don't want to spoil his trip by giving him a bum steer!!!
Any advice I can pass on would be appreciated??
Cheers
Jason.

Blue Sky Hostel or Glasgow Youth Hostel??? Posted: Sat September 15, 2007 01:39 AM UTC
Has anyone ever stayed at Blue Sky Hostel? Either the West End (3 Bank Street) location or the City Centre (65 Berkeley Street) one? I was thinking of staying at City Centre but one of the people on here told me that it's not a good place for a female traveling alone to be at night. Any thoughts?
Also, I am considering staying at Glasgow Youth Hostel (which is at 7-8 Park Terrace). Some reviews I read say that it is kinda far from city centre. Is this true? And there's a huge hill to hike I also read?
I want to stay at a hostel as I want to meet people since I'll be traveling alone. So I'm not really interested in single room hotels.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!

Hello,
I am thinking on staying at the Blue Sky Hostel, but it has two locations: City Centre & West End and I don’t know which one is better in regards of accommodation and location (close to the public transportation and main attractions). Which one do you suggest and why?

Staying near Carling Academy and getting to/from Prestwick airport Posted: Fri July 6, 2007 07:19 PM UTC
Hoping someone can tell me where is a decent place to stay and some of the good pubs in Glasgow near the Carling Glasgow Academy. Doesn't necessarily need to be the Ritz Carlton, but then again I don't want the Bates Motel either. Something decent for a modest price. I don't even care if its a hostel, as long as they offer private rooms with like a 2-3 person maximum. I'm looking for something near the Academy-somewhere within reasonable staggering distance because I will be drinking heavily celebrating the reunion of the Verve, which is why I will be in Glasgow in the first place. Also, I wouldn't mind knowing what the best combination of reliability and economy is for getting to and from Prestwick Airport, as I have a flight to Latvia a couple days later. Whoever can help out the best wins an ice cold pint of your choice, personally paid for by me. :) if not that, then some mad props.
Thanks,
