Dorset On Chesil Beach
Posted: Thu June 5, 2008 03:14 AM UTC
I finished reading "On Chesil Beach" last night, and find myself interested in this stretch of coast. Not that I'd want to go through the tragic experience of Florence and Edward - that wouldn't be an issue with my wife and me. But we'll be in Bath as a part of our little trip around England next month, so now a detour to the coast may be in order. Perhaps further west along the Jurassic Coast, to small places like Seaton.
Any thoughts about this area?
Anybody else get drawn to an area after reading a novel recently?

Bournemouth What is the fastest way to get to Bournemouth from Gatwick airport?
Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 12:41 PM UTC
My flight is arriving around midnight.
Is there a coach station at Gatwick where I can take a bus to Bournemouth, or do I have to go to another station, like London Victoria, first? I'd rather not travel 90 mins to London only to head back south later.
Also, I looked at railway timetable - don't think they have a train until 7:15 a.m. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Bournemouth Bournemouth night experience - what to do?
Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 07:26 AM UTC
I think I've trapped myself. I will arrive in the Bournemouth center between 0.00 and 1.00 am but my train leaves at about 5 a.m What can I do in the night there? Are any pubs/clubs opened till the morning or where can I stay over the night? I wouldn't rather go to a hotel for 4 hours.
Thanks.

Bournemouth Airport hotel with parking
Posted: Sat September 8, 2007 06:08 PM UTC
Anyone know of accommodation with parking near Bournemouth airport. We will be arriving from Cornwall so prefer west side of airport, ideally on the B3073 somewhere.
We want to stay one night but leave the car there for 2 weeks.
Welcome any help as there appears to be very little on the web.

Thanks.

Hen Weekend in Bournemouth
Posted: Mon June 12 15:22:40 2006 UTC

I'm organising a hen weekend in bournemouth in a couple of weeks and the Hen really wants to go to a 70's night somewhere. Can anyone recommend me a good not too trashy nightclub that we could attend. Also we'd like to know of good venues to watch the football if there are any?? We are staying at the Carrington House Hotel if this is any help, though i think this may be quite a way out of Bournemouth?

Cheers for any help!

Bournemouth Cheapest way to Bournemouth Airport
Posted: Sun May 21, 2006 08:41 PM UTC
Hi ya,

Can someone advice the cheapest way to get to Bournemouth airport from Bournemouth Square/ Bournemouth Triangle.

If I want to be at the airport by 230pm, which bus timing should I get on?
And, when I return, it will be probably by 5pm on a Saturday. Do you think I will still be able to get a bus back to Bournemouth Sq/triangle?

Please please advice..

Cheers!

Bournemouth Good Pub in Bournemouth
Posted: Fri April 29, 2005 03:45 PM UTC
I'm going to be in Bournemouth 8-12 June for a seminar at the Chiropractic college. Just wondering what a nice pub might be. I'm 47 and very boring and don't like listening to music while I drink. I do like Belgian beers. Not wild about cig smoke either but I suppose I'll have to live with that.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Bournemouth South of England; friendly? laid back?
Posted: Sun January 2, 2005 05:36 PM UTC
Hey all

ive just signed up today after stumbling across VT on google..

anyway it seems like a wicked site, so many people from whatever area i look under.

i currently live in the west midlands (coventry) but want to meet more friendly people, and enjoy a more laid back way of living to how it is here

ive heard several people say how different people down south are; 'friendly' 'chatty' etc

probably starting to sound quite naive now but what the heck..

is this true then? i want to visit some of the biggish towns down south like Bristol, Brighton and Plymouth

cheers

Chris
