Montpeyroux Barcelona, Spain, to Montpeyroux, France
Posted: Thu September 25, 2008 06:10 PM UTC
I am thinking of traveling from Barcelona, Spain, to this small town in southern France (not far from Montpelier). The options are:
(1) Renting a car (my information says it's a 3.5 hour drive)
(2) Public transport
I actually prefer public transport. However, I have my doubts as to the practicality of it. Is there some sort of regular and reliable public transport which doesn't eat up too much time? If yes, how long does the trip take?

Although the cost of each of the options (car or public transport) isn't that important, I would appreciate it if someone could post this information.

Merci beaucoup.

Carcassonne Within the city walls
Posted: Sat August 2, 2008 06:48 PM UTC
We are stopping in Carcassonne for four nights before travelling to our gite near Quillan. I have never been to Carcassonne but staying within the city walls seems the thing to do.

Has anyone stayed at the The Logis des Remparts? I can only find sites in French (or awkward English!) and am having trouble booking.

A few years ago I purchased some very nice table linens and neck ties in a shop in Aigues Mortes that was right near the main square. I wondered if there was an address or web-site? Thanks. marywebbie@yahoo.com

Sète transfer from beziers airport
Posted: Sat July 26, 2008 10:58 AM UTC
Hi,

I'm going to Sete (Hotel le national) soon with my girlfriend but neither of us drive...

also we're on a fairly tight budget!

what is the best way of getting there from beziers airport? how much would a taxi cost approximately? I've read that there's a shuttle from the airport to beziers bus station but that it's a way from the train station.

It seems like a good place to go in terms of public transport, easy access to other towns, beaches etc...

sorry for all the questions, just want to make everything perfect!

Thanks.

Carcassonne Transport from Carcassone to Tossa de Mar
Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 01:31 PM UTC
We need to get from Carcassone to Tossa de Mar in mid August (on a Saturday)and would like to know if this is possible by train (preferable) or bus.

So far it looks as though one might need to get a train from Narbonne to Girona and a bus from there but the information I have found is unclear.

If anyone can tell us what options are available and the travel time/costs involved, we would be most grateful.

Thanks for your assistance and happy travelling.

Montpellier Mosquito advice please
Posted: Mon July 7, 2008 10:30 PM UTC
Can anyone please tell me how July is looking for Mosquitoes in the area? Are the Mosquito numbers up or down for this time of year? Do they bite even in the daytime? Would you advise the use of Mosquito nets if staying in a Campsite chalet? Please excuse if this all sounds paranoid - it's just have read of some bad experiences on travel blogs and wonder if it all depends on the weather/season?

Thanks in advance for any help?

Montpellier Need advice - I need a mobile phone while in Montpellier
Posted: Thu June 12, 2008 05:33 AM UTC
Please advice what's the best way to obtain a mobile phone in Montpellier? Will be staying there for a month. I don't need an expensive phone. A basic one should be fine to communicate between France, Italy and United States. If I buy a phone, about how much will it cost? Is there such thing as "no contract" with a service provider? Will phone card work with a mobile phone. Thanks!

Montpellier What can I do in 7 days in Montpellier, France?
Posted: Sun May 4, 2008 06:53 AM UTC
1. My flight originate from San Francisco - Arriving in Paris on June 29. What is the best way to get to Montpellier - by train or plane?

2. If riding a train, how much is the cost? How long is the trip. What is the fastest train can I take? How do I get my train ticket from Charles de Gaulle Airport?

3. If I take the plane to Montpellier (from CDG Airport), will it be easy to purchase plane tickets at the airport with no reservation? Should I purchase my domestic tickets from the US? I'm a little concern with purchasing tickets - because what if my flight got delayed and I miss my connecting flight?

4. What neighboring cities are there close to Montpellier that I can visit? I have 7 days to spare?

Thanks!
