Liverpool Route advice Mersey Tunnel
Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 03:01 PM UTC
Hi, I will be travelling from Holyhead to Liverpool (Albert Dock area) on Saturday and trying to work out the best route. Which is the best road to get to the Mersey Tunnel? AA route finder is telling me to use the A41 but I take that with a pinch of salt. Would the M53 be better?

While I'm here how bad is the traffic likely to be on Saturday afternoon around the Albert Dock? The hotel I'm staying in (Premier Travel Inn) does not have it's own car park, guests have to use the one across the road apparently and I'm a bit worried I'm not going to get a space.

I'm doing a day trip from Dublin to Liverpool on 12/11 (Tuesday) with 4 buddies. Whats the best way to get from the airport to the Albert Dock. Would it be best to purchase a bus pass or taxi into the city and hoof it for the rest of the day?

Liverpool London to Liverpool in a day
Posted: Thu November 1, 2007 06:10 AM UTC
We will be in England for 5 days and want to travel from London to Liverpool for the day. Thinking this.... it will be about a 2 1/2 hour train ride thru the English countryside (check this off the list of things we wanted to do) arrive in Liverpool mid morning, do the Beatles Museum and then catch the Magical Mystery Tour in the afternoon. We understand the Museum is near the River, so we get to see the Mersey as well.... We are traveling in Jan, so the days are short. I figure this is full day, but does look doable. What do you think?

Is there a better day to do this? we will be there Thurs - Mon, and were planning this trip for Friday or Saturday.

also, to what station in Liverpool should we buy our tickets to?

Liverpool limited time in liverpool?
Posted: Fri September 21, 2007 04:27 PM UTC
Hi to All!
1- What's the best way to come to Liverpool from Manchester Airport considering me and my wife are travelling with our 4 years old daughter?
2- I definitely will visit Beatles Museum. But, besides the museum, are there any tours showing where Beatle actually lived, or performed etc.?
3- After staying for one night in Liverpool, we will see Nottingham and Edinburgh and then we will fly back home from Manchester. Do you think it would matter which one we should see first?(Nottingham or Edinburgh). Our flight back to home is on 13.30. Do you think we could arrange it like we directly come to the airport by train (be there let's say at 11.30)from either Edinburgh or Nottingham?
4- Best place to buy souvenirs of Beatles and LFC ?

Thanx in advance

Liverpool Looking for an apartment for 4 for November stay
Posted: Sun August 26, 2007 07:23 AM UTC
My sister and I are coming to Liverpool with our other halfs to visit the Transatlantic Slavery Museum and we fancy staying at an apartment. Can anyone recommend anywhere? We will be travelling by car so a car space or being near a car park would be great as we want to explore the local area.

Liverpool theatre & (gay)dance

1- I'd like to know where you can dance best in Liverpool.
Gay hotspots preferred, but not necessarily so.
2- And what would the best theatre be, going to a play/ballet
'off the beaten track'.

Liverpool Liverpool/Ireland ferries
Posted: Thu March 29, 2007 11:36 PM UTC
I will be in Liverpool in May and plan to spend a few days in Ireland. I am thinking of crossing over by ferry, but want to avoid the relatively long train trip to Holyhead. What are the possibilities from Liverpool/Birkenhead for walk-on passengers?
Thanks for your help.

Liverpool SuperLambBananna in Liverpool
Posted: Tue December 19, 2006 05:21 PM UTC
I was in Liverpool several years ago with my daughter. We saw the street art statue SuperLambBananna. My daughter loved it and we took several pictures of it. Then we read about a year ago that it had been painted pink for breast cancer awareness. We were just talking and wondering if anyone in Liverpool could let us know what it looks like now. Has it been painted yellow again? Is it still standing?

Liverpool Parking on a Saturday
Posted: Mon November 27, 2006 02:18 PM UTC
Hi fellow VTers

I will be coming to Liverpool on Saturday 2nd December and staying overnight at the Travelodge 25 Haymarket, Liverpool.

I will be in a 17 seater minibus so a multi storey car park is out of the question.

I will need to park the van up from arouund 2pm on Saturday and pick it back up the next morning (Sunday) about 11am.

Would I be better off parking on a street outside the centre and getting a taxi to the Travelodge?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
