New year in Geordieland Posted: Mon October 27, 2008 01:37 PM UTC
Hello
Coming over from the Wirral for New Years Eve. (2 couples age 27-30)
Whats the score in Newcastle is it just pubs and clubs or do you have anything going on down the quayside?
If its the pubs and clubs thing would we need to book tickets or anything?
Were stopping New years day aswell so a nice restaurant recomendation would be good too.
Also anything worth visiting when were there... I've only ever been to Newcastle once before we only seen the inside of St James and a cracking chinese restaurant in the quayside.
Thanks

My boyfriend and I are planning to visit Newcastle for a couple of days in November to attend a NUFC's match.
I will greatly appreciate if someone gives me an advice where to stay in Newcastle. Since our budget is a quite modest one, we are looking for a cheap hotel or hostel only to have a nap for a couple of hours. Tried to find one via internet but there is no great varity of options. Is it so?
I would also appreciate some local information concerning the best pubs in the city?
Thank you very much in advace!
Can't wait to see this lovely place!

Best way to see the most? Posted: Wed July 30, 2008 05:46 PM UTC
I coming with my sister to Newcastle the weekend of the bank holiday. We fly in late the friday night and fly out Monday pm. Will the tourist attractions be open on the bank holiday Monday? Also, we want to try and see tynemouth castle and priory, Bamburgh castle, lindirfarn, Hever Castle and Haddon Hall. We will be able to see these things in the 3 days we have in the area? Is it best to book day trips or hire a car and drive ourselves? We are both Australians and don't know the area well. Thanks!

an american couple moving to NewCastle Posted: Mon June 30, 2008 08:21 PM UTC
Hi,
We are an american couple moving to Newcastle. Will we be welcome in NewCastle? We will be working with the film community and filmmakers. Also are there dog friendly beaches and is a dog friendly city?
We have been to London and other parts of England but not to Newcastle, and are well aware of the distinctive Geordi dialect. I'm sure we'll get used to it, but generally speaking how understanding and patient are Newcastlers to people who don't quite understand what they're saying at first?
Thank you

Newcastle for "the end of the year" Posted: Wed August 29, 2007 08:22 AM UTC
I am going to come in Newcastle 4/5 days for the end of the year 2007 with a small group of friends 4/5.
For me it's very important to find a vibrant nightlife. We are italians so we don't need a few drinks.
What about the cost to "come in " in the clubs?
Last year i have been in the south, in Bournemouth, the accomodation it wasn't cheaper but the cost of the nightlife was good, 1/2 pouds for "come in" and only in the weekend,so also the cost of the drinks was good of our local standards.
I need any useful information about Newcastle or an alternative clubbing destination. thanks

Newcastle parking Posted: Mon May 21, 2007 08:48 AM UTC
Hi
I'm looking for reasonably-priced parking near Newcastle Airport for 2 weeks in September. The "official" airport car parks seem pretty expensive. City centre would be fine, as I can take the metro to the airport. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Studying in Newcastle Posted: Sat April 14, 2007 03:15 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to start my MBA in England in September. I haven’t decided in which University yet but Newcastle Upon Tyne University is on my list of choices. I will be grateful if I can get some info from residents about the city life in general. I'll be staying for a year so I want to make must of it, study and otherwise ;) So it will be more helpful if the comments come from people who went to Newcastle University.
Cheers,

Indian relocating from Kent to New Castle - How good/safe/friendly is life out there? Posted: Mon January 15, 2007 12:50 PM UTC
Hi I am an Indian considering relocating to New Castle after having stayed for an year in Kent. I have heard a lot about the weather, beautiful countryside, culture, strong accent etc but not sure about people's attitude towards racism. I have a family(with a new born) so would like find out as much as possible about the place and be sure before I make a decision. I am basically looking at having a nice pleasant, friendly and peaceful life out there. I have travelled quite a lot and stayed in various western countries and haven't faced many problems till now, but many people have warned me about the racism being a major problem in the north and around New Castle. Would like to have my facts right from people actually living there rather than base my decision on rumours and hear-say. Would appreciate inputs on this.

7 Irish lads heading to Newcastle........... Posted: Thu November 9, 2006 04:45 PM UTC
Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get your help with something? ! I'm heading off to Newcastle on the 24th with six lunatics all of whom are single and looking to go where all the females frequent. As i'm very much in a relationship i'm unfortunately gonna be the bore but sure its meant to be a laugh anyway. We're staying in the Premier Inn in Quayside. Does anyone have any info on this place? I know its not meant to be too nice, but sure it'll do the job for seven lads. Also, dress code? Best places for the lads to erm, interact... !!! Nice one!

World Cup Viewing Posted: Tue June 6, 2006 11:13 AM UTC
I am going to Newcastle on Saturday the 10th of June, and, frankly, I don't want to miss Englands opening game. I am aware that lots of pubs and clubs will have the game on show, however I have heard that their could be a big screen at the monument. I might be asking the wrong people, but can you maybe do the research to confirm whether this rumour is true.
Thankyou for your co-operation

Moving to Newcastle Posted: Thu May 4, 2006 09:17 AM UTC
Hi there I am really keen to learn more about Newcastle as I am keen to move there from New Zealand with my wife and 3 children next year. Are you able to help? I am particularly interested in cost of living and how much a couple should earn before tax to live in modest comfort.
So I am particularly interested in hearing from couples with 2 or more children.
We don't go out often and eat at home with self prepared food.
I am in Civil Engineering so any engineer's out there in the area I would love to hear from you too.
My email is hutchinsonwong@slingshot.co.nz

Weekend in Newcastle Posted: Thu May 4, 2006 08:13 AM UTC
Hello all,
Just a quick question: A group of us are planning on heading to newcastle for the stag party of a friend of mine. None of us have been there before, so i was hoping that we could get some suggestions on where to go. It'll be the usual type of thing, a few drinks, abit of a laugh and an opportunity to give him a good send off before his wedding in July.
Any ideas on where to go? Any pointers to take into account.
cheers,
Joe
