Oxford Sending My Beach Boy to Oxford
Posted: Tue January 4, 2005 02:56 AM UTC
My 21 yr old son Christopher will be coming to Oxford Jan 27 to attend school until the 10th of May. He has never traveled outside of California, so this will be a very big change for him. I want to help him be prepared as much as possible, in the way of cell phones (how and what kind?), clothing and items he should bring from home. Can anyone help with some much needed tips for a grateful mom?

Oxford Parking at Rail Station?
Posted: Fri December 17, 2004 03:58 PM UTC
I'm planning on making a rail journey from Oxford to Manchester returning later the next day. Can you park for more than 24 hours at the rail station? And would it be easy to get a space on a Wednesday afternoon until late Thursday night?

Also, if this is not possible, can you park at the park and rides (thornhill) for more than 24 hours?

Oxford Car Parks in Oxford
Posted: Mon August 23, 2004 06:40 AM UTC
Hi, my husband has asked me to show him Oxford during our trip to the UK in September. It's one of my favourite places, so I'm very happy to do that. But when I travel on my own I always use trains or National Express and I have never paid any attention to the parking situation in Oxford.
There is a car park near the train station, I remember that. We'll be coming down Headington Road, is there any car park closer to this area? Is parking allowed in the smaller side streets?
The map I have doesn't show car parks so I hope someone in Oxford can help me.
Thank you.

Oxford Friends in Oxfordshire
Posted: Sun March 21, 2004 08:32 PM UTC
Hi everybody!
I'm a Belgian girl, 21, from Belgium. I'm coming in Witney next week, for 6 weeks. I'll be working in Eynsham Hall, a hotel and conference centre. I would like to meet people there, because I don't know anybody and I'm a bit afraid of leaving my country...alone!!!

Please could you give some addresses of forums or chats to meet nice people? Or if you live not too far from Witney, we could meet to talk about everything!

Thanks Olivia

Dear VTrs,
Please, do any of you know a Roman Catholic church in Oxford? I am already in Oxford (bee here for already eleven days) and will stay here for about a year, but all of the churches I have found (Christ, St. Aldates, University Church of St. Mary, Magdalene, St. Giles) belong to the Church of England.
Any info will be GREATLY appreciated, since here in my college no one seems to know .
Thanks a lot,
