Hi all, I intend to spend one week in Turkey and have made plans to travel from Istanbul to Troy to Ephesus and Cappadocia (tentative).

I will be travelling in early to mid September.
What are your recommendations for covering the above routes?
I intend to take bus, but is it possible to get a bus on the spot or do I have to book beforehand? What is the frequency like?
Are there any better alternatives besides taking bus?
We don't speak Turkish - will it be a problem?

Also, we are not sure if we need to book accomodation before we go. Are there any motel or hotel chains in Turkey which are reliable, cheap and provides good service?

How can I manage to get tickets for matches of the Turkish Süperlig in advance from abroad?

Me and three friend will visit Istanbul in October or November and we want to visit a match of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray or Besiktas.

Will it be possible to buy tickets online and will they be delivered or reserved? Or aren't the games usually sold out, so that we will be able to buy tickets directly before the match?

Btw: Regarding http://www.tff.org.tr games will be played exclusively on sundays, 12:00 am. Is it true or will the matchday and -times vary?

I'm arriving in Antalya within the next two months. I need to get from Antalya to Anamur and back. What's the best mode of transportation and how much does it costs?

Will be coming down to Istanbul later next month on exchange to KOC uni. Wanted to go around Istanbul and nearby places in the first month - month-and-a-half, and later venture on into Eastern Europe. Got a couple of questions.

What all should I visit in and around Istanbul?

Is it sensible to get a Eurail pass for Europe?
<I'll be using it consistently only for november and december, and that too if it covers all regions, or is it better to take just individual trains?>

Anyone planning to go around Eastern Europe around the same time ?

Anyone willing to explore IStanbul ?

does anyone know where i can get a room or small apartment for a week near the marina at the end of October 08? It needs to be resonably budget, but I will consider anything. If you do not know, do you know how i can find out. All the tour companies seem to use big hotels along at the beach which is a long way from the marina.

I visited Kalkan back in 2002 and bought a kaftan/cover-up?? from Yousuf the Tailor in a little side street in Kalkan. I would love to find out if it is possible to buy from him again of if he is still there? I really enjoy relaxing in my kaftan but it is getting a little past its wearable date.. I would appreciate any help in locating this tailor. Many thanks in advance.

Having done no research yet, we must make a quick decision whether to book a week of time share at the Tourquoise Beach resort near Side (and 75 km from the Antalya airport). I do believe we would have to fly from Istanbul to make best use of time. We have not visited Turkey before and need some advice as to whether this would be a reasonable region to use as a base to explore a bit of the country on day trips. We are not much into night life, and we generally hire a car and like to explore a region on a relaxed basis. If anyone has comments, either about the resort (I will check reviews) or more importantly this region, it would be welcomed.

I've been trying hard to book round trip by bus from Istanbul to Kusadasi, but all bus companies sites are in Turkish. Does anybody know the site, or another way around to purchase tickets and would be a problem to buy it right on place in Istanbul?
