IA I will be going for Umrah this weekend. I have been informed that I have to go downtown to get a bus to Makkah. How much is the taxi fare from the airport to downtown? Can I get a bus directly from Jeddah Airport and how much will I need to have with me for the travel costs and will it take me direct to the Harem in Makkah? Also for the return journey that same evening - would I be able to take the bus directly back to the airport or to downtown and have to take a taxi to the terminal? Do the buses stop at a certain time in the evening?

HI All, I will be arriving at Jeddah Airport in Ramadhan and was wondering the transfer / taxi costs I should expect to pay for me and my wife for the following journeys.

1. Jeddah Airport to Makkah hotel
2. Makkah hotel to Medinah hotel
3. Medinah Hotel to Jeddah Airport

If anyone has experience of costs for the above journeys during Ramadhan I would appreciate their advice.

If I only have 4 nights that I can spend in Saudi Arabia, can I perform the Umrah within that time period and also be able to stay in Makkah and Madinah? If so, what is recommended, 2 nights in each city or 3 nights in Makkah and 1 night in Madinah ?

i have a business visa to ksa that is valid for 6 months - multiple entery - that i haven't used. i am planning to go this weekend to make omra. will do the hotel booking myslef.

do you think there will be an issue doing that? immigration desk?

I am 21years old originally from Pakistan but live in Europe. And studing(mbbs). But now i want to travel to Mecca for Haj or Umrah. But my question is, can i travel alone?or with my mother, elder sister and her husband?
Because i dont have brother, and my Father died when i was a child. And someone told me in my case i cant go for haj before i am married, is that true?the person said i can only go with my brother or father?
Please let me know if someone knows something about that

I'm going to umrah for 4 days inshAllah next week. I wanted to know if i can make my own hotel reservations or do i have to go through a travel agency and get a package for hotel/transportation etc? Do the Saudi immigration officials ask for the reservation details at Jeddah airport before they let you in? Also what is a reasonable cab fare betwen Makkah-Medinah and Makakh-Jeddah?

Anyone interested in joining us for a crossing of part of the Empty Quarter (Rub' Al Khali)desert. My friend and I are planing for an expedition to various sites there including the Wabar Impact site, a strange place of black glass and white rocks where a huge meteorite impact explosion took place probably in the mid 19th century …(quite recent in geological terms)...

Travelling to Mecca Shareef in March urgently need to know if a Pram is allowed as my son is 11months carrying him would be very difficult for us/ near impossible due to his weight. If not a pram would a baby carrier be permitted to carry him on our back - it is slightly bulky.Or any other recommendation you have to assist with situation. Help - appreciated!!

I am planning on visitng Mecca for Umrah in March/April, inshallah, with some other family members. Can anyone advise me on hotels close to Al-Haram? Hotels that are clean and reasonably priced. I styed in the Mecca Hotel last time I visited a few years back. It was very close but not the cleanest of hotels and I believe it has now been demolished. If you recommend any clean, reasonably prices hotels in Medina, close to the mosque, that would be appreciated as well.

Well, I am planning to perform Umrah with my wife and 2 kids in September, inshallah. We will be coming to Mecca from USA and don't know much about Mecca at this time.

Our stay will be very short,; about 3 days and we want to maximize the benefits of our stay inshallah. I know it is going to be Ramadan and with hot weather, mobility is going to be some what limited. But if you guys can help in the following, it will be really appreciated. May Allah bless and reward you for your answers.

1. What are the good, close to Haram, Clean and reasonably priced hotels in Mecca? Really need help on this because I can't find anything online.

2. What are the other sacred places we can visit close to Haram? What is the best way to get around the City?

Need to find good places to eat and Shop?

3. What is the best way for a family (4 people)to get around in Macca?

4. We will be leaving for Madina by Road. Does anyone have any information on this trip; where to catch the bus, fare, schedule, etc?

5. Anything else you like to add which is helpful in our stay?

I want a book a hotel room private DBL (2 single bed if possible or 1 large) for me and my wife during the period from 1429 haj inch'Allah.
Hotel du group ELAF if possible category 3 * max for average budget. (refrigerator, AC and kitchen or
restaurant in the hotel). Arrival: 2-12 / departure: 13-12-2008 (11 nights). Is there someone who can put me in contact with an agency of KSA JIDAH or other .. this book? Here I live in france or agencies sell only very expensive (flight + hotel + bus etc. ..). That is why I prefer to make my reservation only.

Does anyone know is there a Makkah map somewhere available in the web where clearly are marked borders of forbidden zone for non-muslims? As far as I know, it's not just Makkah city limits.

The same question about map of Madinah with clearly marked such borders. As fas as I know, forbidden zone is historical center of the city (including Prophet's Mosque) but not the whole city.

I m planning to go for Umrah from Dubai. Does anybody know if I can apply for an urgent Visa for Umrah. I want to join my parents who are already in Makkah. Could anyone please advise what is the minimum time required to get a visa.
