Against Saudi laws? Posted: Sun July 20, 2008 02:17 PM UTC
I would like to ask how true that Muttawa or Saudi police catch single men and women who speak to each other or be together as prohibited by Saudi laws. Does this apply to foreign nationals, too? I have learned of men & women (both expats) meet in malls and are able to go together in public. Women are said to be able to go into the Bachelor's housing as long as the man's companion will allow the woman's entry. Some women even wear mens clothing to be able to walk into mens' housing. How then can you say that Saudi laws still prevail for the locals as well as expats?

Weather in Dhahran Posted: Wed April 30, 2008 02:58 PM UTC
I was wondering about the weather in Dhahran? I have applied for a position in Saudi Arabia. I've looked at different blogs, and they all say different things regarding the weather. Some say that the average temperatures in summer is around 96 degrees. others say up to 110 or 120 degrees farenheit. I just read one a few minutes ago that said it could get up to 150 degrees farenheit.
The highest recorded temperature in the world is supposed to have been 122 degrees. So I'm confused.

DO YOU KNOW OF A CLEAN, INEXPENSIVE PLACE TO STAY IN KHOBAR FOR 2 NIGHTS ONLY? Posted: Sun April 15, 2007 04:35 AM UTC
I am looking for a place to stay for 2 nights in Khobar or in the near areas but I do not want to spend a lot of money. In Jeddah and Riyadh there are some nice, clean, big and furnished apartments that are not as costly as the expensive and popular hotels. Usually in Jeddah I could rent a 2 bedroom apartment for 250 riyals per night. No luxury but clean and confortable. Appreciate all your help!!
Thank you!!

Extracirricular Activity Posted: Sat March 17, 2007 03:16 PM UTC
I am very new to Khobar and was wondering if anyone would be able to share some insight into the below so that I can keep myself occupied. Any and all help is more than appreciated.
1) Where might I be able to get arabic lessons?
2) Are there any gyms/ healthclubs in town that offer b-ball courts, pool, weights, treadmills, etc.?
3) What are some of the better restaurants around town (specifically Lebanese/ Middle Eastern)?
4) Any golf courses or driving ranges? Clubs for trekking, fishing or triathalon training?
5) How strict are rules/ laws regarding photography?
Pretty much looking for stuff outside of my computer at work that will keep a once active 20-something bachelor occupied.
Regards

Hi!
I would like to know, if how long it will take the processing of the application for visit visa or a residence visa?
How would you know that your application for your visa is rejected or approved?
