I have a job offer at CCES, King Saud University and I am planning to join somewhere by the end of October. I have few questions, if you could answer/help:

1) Where is this College of Computer Engineering and Sciences (CCES) located in Al-Kharj; the website says somewhere on King Fahad Road.

2) What are the possible options to live in the area around CCES, I mean
compounds or independent residences/apartments.

3) I am single, male and would like to rent out a 1,2 bedroom apartment.
How much should I expect to pay.

IA I will be going for Umrah this weekend. I have been informed that I have to go downtown to get a bus to Makkah. How much is the taxi fare from the airport to downtown? Can I get a bus directly from Jeddah Airport and how much will I need to have with me for the travel costs and will it take me direct to the Harem in Makkah? Also for the return journey that same evening - would I be able to take the bus directly back to the airport or to downtown and have to take a taxi to the terminal? Do the buses stop at a certain time in the evening?

HI All, I will be arriving at Jeddah Airport in Ramadhan and was wondering the transfer / taxi costs I should expect to pay for me and my wife for the following journeys.

1. Jeddah Airport to Makkah hotel
2. Makkah hotel to Medinah hotel
3. Medinah Hotel to Jeddah Airport

If anyone has experience of costs for the above journeys during Ramadhan I would appreciate their advice.

I'm very interested to visit KSA mainly Mada'en Saleh. We are two,male and female with different passports. Can we obtain a tourist visa for both of us and to rent a car to drive all the way to the historical sites ourselves without using Saudis Tours Agents? Appreciate your advice!

If I only have 4 nights that I can spend in Saudi Arabia, can I perform the Umrah within that time period and also be able to stay in Makkah and Madinah? If so, what is recommended, 2 nights in each city or 3 nights in Makkah and 1 night in Madinah ?

I am 21years old originally from Pakistan but live in Europe. And studing(mbbs). But now i want to travel to Mecca for Haj or Umrah. But my question is, can i travel alone?or with my mother, elder sister and her husband?
Because i dont have brother, and my Father died when i was a child. And someone told me in my case i cant go for haj before i am married, is that true?the person said i can only go with my brother or father?

Hi, I have a relative who is coming back to ARgentian from Saudi Arabia after 3 years. He went trough a lot of experiences (good and bad)but was able to acomplish his dream. I thought of recieving him with a big sing saying "impossible is nothing" but written in arabic letters. The problem is I have NO idea on how to do it. Can anyone translate that for me In arabic fonts???

It would seem that some cities in the west of the country, such as Jiddah/Jeddah are to some degree more liberal, or not so strictly conservative,as some of the other Saudi cities. Is this correct, and in what ways is a city such as Jiddah less conservative or less restrictive. What are the practical differences that I visiting western tourist would experience?

I January and February next year my father and I will be travelling from Australia around the world. A year ago, when we did a similar trip, we spent three days in Iran. This time we are considering spending two or three days in Saudi Arabia as we pass through that part of the world. In Tehran we were able to roam around by ourselves and did not have to be part of a tour.
What I would like to know is are we likely to be able to get a visa in the first place, and if we do will we have to be part of an organised tour? We would like to be able to roam by ourselves. We are not Muslims, but very much enjoy experiencing cultures that differ from our own. Also, will it be necessary for me to be covered from head to toe in the same clothing as the local women for the two days, or can I get away with the same loose clothing that I wore in Tehran?

I am planning to bring my laptop into Saudi Arabia (VIA air) and I am wondering HOW they check it. Do they just browse every single folder? What method will they use to check it, I will be coming from YYZ through LHR to JED.

I am wondering if the games of chance that came pre-installed on my laptop will need to go. I am also wondering if I can get away with just putting some pirated movies and pirated software into a hidden folder, and hiding that folder, and concealing that folder in a folder with lots of folders.

Should I invest in a 4GB USB (Aroud $30 Canadian) and put all my photos (since they represents "god's" creation) (clean, fully clothed) in it, and leave it in Canada?
