My question is:
On August 13 I'll arrive by air from Amsterdam in Pau. Then my destination is Vieux Boucou near Messagnes/Soustons..
Is there any bus that goes from Pau to that area? Or do I have to go by train to Dax or Bayonne?
Can you give me any advise?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,we are thinking of travelling to Biarritz, mid August and staying for a few days before heading down towards Santander.
Ive read a few reports saying that the weather can be very rainy in August? Can anyone tell me what weather to expect?
Also, would this be peak season and if so will accomodation be very expensive? We didnt plan on booking accomodation ahead of time, but will that leave us at risk of not being able to get anything decent once we arrive!!
Thanks for your help.
We are staying at Holiday Inn Macau...can I ride the free shuttle to get to other hotels like Venetial hotel?? if not how much by bus and which bus? Also what is the weather like in June?? We are going there from June 12- June 14 2009. How much is a value meal at Mcdonalds or any fastfood?? Are there any fastfood shops near Holiday Inn?
Also where do I go and buy affordable and cheap Macau souvenirs like t-shirts, magnets, key chains, caps and pens and others???
We are arriving around 2pm I think...which places can we go after checking in at the hotel?? thanks so much
I begin my "Stroll" on Sept 11th, targetting Oct 16th in Santiago de Compostela and Oct 20th at Lands end or Fisterre. Any VT members on the road or en-route?
I have posted a picture of a bridge on my home page. I found it on the Internet and it is described as the "Wobbly Bridge in the Dorgdogne". I love bridges and would enjoy seeing it when I am in the Dordogne this June. Does anyone know its location? -- Thanks

Hi,
I will be travelling on the 11th of June to Lourdes and will be arriving in Pau by Transavia at 21.00 hrs.Is it too late for us to catch a train to Lourdes from Pau train station? Where can I find a train schedule for trains from Pau to Lourdes and return?

I have two kids under 4 years and we are all moving to Pau this august.Does anyone know what its like for young families. We live in canada right now and how much different will it be for kids there.I know they will have to learn french and so will I but other than that is it a kids friendly place?
We will also be renting there (rent will be covered by the company) so anybody know of a good website where we can look for homes.
I am planning to stay and work in Biarritz in the Summer for about a month, june/July. The work will probably not be highly paid and I am a not so wealthy young person who is attracted by the surfing mainly. Any ideas on reeeally cheap accomodation that really doesnt even have to look nice or be comfortable but just within walking distance of the main area which will be essential for if I am working.
Thanks in advance!!

Please could you let me know if you know any churches that are:
- within easy access to an international airport (max 1h30 mins travel)
- picturesque, with a minister / priest that can speak English
- with hotels / apartments / gites to rent nearby
- which has a great natural landscape view outside
- good transportation(public and private) available in the area
We have a small group (6-8 people) travelling from Biarritz to Bilbao/San Sebastion. Does anyone know of a service where a driver would take us there in a van, possibly dropping some of the passengers at various locations along the way? We are flying out of Bilbao and would need the service only one-way.
Have booked 4 nights / 5 days in Pau for april and will be hiring a car for whole period Seems there is quite a lot to do in the city itself but want to explore as well
Can someone please suggest key places to visit outside of PAU - any help would be great
We are visiting Biarritz for four days at the end March beginning April. I will have two days (daytime) when hubby will be working and was hoping someone could give me some tips about where to go and what to see (are there any good markets etc that I can do on my own without hubby hanging around waiting) - also for the extra days when it will be both of us wanting to see all the things that should not be missed. Have heard Bayonne is also lovely so anything on there too would be great.
Also any advice on eating out? like most these days we are on a fairly tight budget but also like to eat where locals eat and not in the real touristy expensive areas.
My husband and I will be In Biarritz for 2-3 days the first week in July. Can anyone give me ideas for places to see or resturants that are a must. Neither of us have ever been to this region.
Fishing Posted: Sat February 21, 2009 09:43 PM UTC
Does anyone know of fishing charters in the area? When I am there for work my husband is coming along and would love to go out fishing for a day.
Thank you

Three of us will be in Bayonne April 24, 2009 and will get into the train station around 8:30 pm. We are looking for two cheap rooms for one night close to the train station. Can anyone suggest a place?

My boyfriend and I are planning a holiday in France this spring, and we were thinking perhaps to rent a car in Nantes, and take the scenic route down the coast to Biarritz (via La Rochelle and Bordeaux), where a friend lives.
We would be most grateful to anyone who could give us advice on:
a)how long each leg of the journey (Nantes-La Rochelle, La Rochelle-Bordeaux, Bordeaux-Biarritz) might take, given that we probably won't use the autoroute
(would lunch in La Rochelle, dinner in Bordeaux be feasible for the first day, for example?);
and
b)whether mid-March is a good time to be doing this trip?
I am looking to go away at the end of February to Biarritz but need to know whether the conditions will be ok for surfing at that time of year as that is the main reason for going! Also will there be somewhere open to rent surfboards from too? Please help! Thanks.
I am trying to place Blaye, 33390, the Citadelle town in the Gironde department, Aquitaine, on to my Travel Map. I have stayed there several times and know it quite well.
The VT Destination search delivers 9 "possibles" but I am not convinced that any one of them is the Blaye I am looking for. I have scrubbed the one in Midi Pyrenees but the remaining 8 names do not mean anything to me-
I live and work in Paris. I'm looking for a travel partner for a short trip to Bordeaux from Paris. I'd like to also visit the neighbouring towns around Bordeaux, especially to see the countryside. I'm also looking for new acquaintances to hang around with in Paris.
