Need temporary accomodation at moderate price Posted: Sat November 5, 2005 11:45 AM UTC
Hello,
I am travelling next month to Doha on work for maybe a month or even less. I need accomodation in a cheap place because my budget is rather limited. I can't afford to spend 100$ or more each night. 30$ - 50$ would be O.K. So please, could you help me? (Excuse me, I sent this before under the topic world instead of Doha!)
Thank you!

Hi, I live in the states and would like to relocate to Doha and start looking for job or oben a business. I wonder what it will take to bring my subrban from that states with me? What are the legal requirments to do such a thing from some one who will not have residency in the first few weeks.
Thanks a lot

Business Visa to Qatar Posted: Thu October 20, 2005 07:40 AM UTC
Hi everyone, I would like to ask for some help with regards to my situation. I just had a technical interview with Q.P. a week ago and they offered me a package which I think is quite reasonable. They also invited me to come to Qatar for a Site Visit. I just wanted to know if anyone have an idea how long will it takes to get the Business visa going to Qatar; and how soon can you hear from Q.P. once the visa arrived.
I would really appreciate if somebody can give me an acurrate answer to my queries. Thank you very much

nightlife in Doha Posted: Tue October 4, 2005 09:51 AM UTC
OK, this might be the most stupid question ever. But is there any nightlife in Doha at all. How do you spend a good night out on a weekend evening?
I am moving to Doha in a couple of weeks time and fear that there is ZERO, nothing, nada, nichts to do.
Any ideas other than flying off to Dubai?
I have read through the things to do section here but it doesn't sound like much is going on there.
Cheers,
Pete

Any suggestions what do do over the holiday period? I am moving to Qatar in 2 weeks time and am worried that I am stuck in Doha without anyone around and not knowing how to pass the time. What are the nice weekend things to do in Qatar or which places are nice to go... other than heading to Dubai.

Diving in Qatar Posted: Fri September 30, 2005 07:59 AM UTC
Hi,
I am moving to Qatar in a couple of weeks time. Since I have started diving not too long ago I am keen to do more of that in Qatar. Does anyone know what the diving there is like.
Is there any dive center that offers trips out to the Gulf on weekends.
Cheers,
Pete

Hi,
Can you drive from Qatar to the UAE on land? I heard it's difficult (or near impossible) to get into Saudi Arabia by road but can you get to the UAE without having to go through SA? On a map it doesn't look like there is a direct link.
Thanks for anyones help.

I'll be reaching Doha airport in the morning and my next flight is at night. So i'll have about 13 hours. I was wondering if I'll be given a hotel to stay at? Is there any hotel at the Doha airport? Or are the passengers shuttled to a hotel outside the airport? Whats the name of this hotel? Anyone knows? Thanks.

Buy a property in Doha Posted: Sat July 23, 2005 02:11 AM UTC
Is it possible to buy a property for living in Doha. This is thinking
instead to pay rent, buying something. Any extra tax for expats buying
properties there? Can I get something with US$200.000? Is possible to get
a mortgage with a big down payment?

cost of living Posted: Thu July 21, 2005 09:19 AM UTC
Hi Everyone,
Could someone let me know the current cost of living in Doha.
How much is a liter of petrol?
How much is a monthly rent for an unfurnished appartment in a decent location in Doha? Do they usually have facilities like pool and gym etc.
Is there any income tax in Qatar? (I hope not ;)
Thanks to anyone who might be able to help.

i will soon work in qatar, signed up a working contract for 2 years. can somebody inform me about regency hotel/s.is this managed by a good company?how many hotels do they own in qatar?...
im 28 years old single filipina and loves scuba diving or anything that has to do with the ocean. can anybody guide or tell me where to go, who to contact etc. i've read about suggestions on going to hotel beaches than to public ones, where can i find the cheapest deal? how about equipments? is it readily available on the resort? or do i have to bring my own scuba equipment? boat dives?wreck dives? are these allowed?
please inform me of other activities like concerts? movie houses? etc...
im a little concern about discriminations as well? i know that we are responsible for our actions but are there any incident of abuse, discriminations etc. to filipina or asians in qatar? how do western people accepts or treats people like us? i know it's awkward to ask but i just wanted to know.
