Hello..help! My Dad's greencard Posted: Tue November 6, 2007 09:46 PM UTC
Hello,
I was hoping if someone could offer some clarification. My dad is a U.S. resident who is planning to visit me in Kuwait for one week in January. He is filling out a re-entry permit (which i don't think he needs one since he will only be out of the US for only a week..buy anyways). Is he going to be o.k. passing through customs in Kuwait? Will they give him any problems at customs in Kuwait because of the the fact that he is US resident and not a citizen. Are there any other forms he needs to fill out? I need a response ASAP..thank you soooo much!

Traveling to Kuwait - Is it safe??? Posted: Mon October 8, 2007 05:47 PM UTC
Hello Everyone : )
I am an American citizen who will be visiting Kuwait next week for 8 days..and I have a few questions which I'm hoping someone can respond to asap!!
1. I only have my passport..can I get a visitors/tourist visa issued at the Kuwait Airport? I'm a little worried becuase I don't have one. What documents are needed if I get one issued at the Kuwait Airport?
2. My mother is freaking out about the fact of my visiting Kuwait..with everything she hears in the news ..of course she is very worried about her daughter. I feel I'll be fine but for her peace of mind, is it safe for me to travel to Kuwait?
I would appreciate any answers I can get...thank you so much!

Eating in Kuwait Posted: Mon May 28, 2007 05:30 PM UTC
I'm going on a business trip to Kuwait, and are staying for a couple of days. There will be a lot of work to be done while I'm there, so it's important that I'm at my very best - I was wondering if someone could give me some general input about the food quality in Kuwait city restaurants. Is the hygenic standard satisfactory? Should I be prepared to take precautions regarding to what food to eat, or where to go for dinner?

cost of living Posted: Tue May 22, 2007 03:37 AM UTC
Greetings:
I am wondering about the overall cost of living on say, about 8430 KD per year, with round trip airfare, furinshed housing, dependents tuition, and utilties included? No major expenses to send home, save a few hundred dollars to cover a mortgage portion from a renter.

8 hours in Kuwait Posted: Mon May 21, 2007 02:22 PM UTC
Hello,
I'll probably be in Kuwait for 8 hours on a stop-over in August (arriving at 10 am, departing at 6 pm). The question is : Apart from taking a taxi downtown, is there anything else one could do ? Anything intersting close to the airport perhaps ?
Thank you,
George

I am from Philippines and I was offered a job there in Kuwait. I am still having doubts due to some security reasons. How safe is the place? Can someone tell me about the country's culture? What are the common adjustments I will be going through? I don't want to get culture shock that much.. I'll be making a big decision that's why I am asking for others' suggestions.
please help..
thanks..

Life changes Posted: Mon April 2, 2007 03:31 AM UTC
So, My husband may be taking a job in Kuwait, for blackwater. I have a lot of questions about the safety. Are Americans pretty openly accepted in Kuwait? Is it safe there for a woman to be living alone for extended periods of time? How about pets? I have a small white dog and I am concerned about bringing him. What areas are safer and nicer to live in? Also, are there any diseases I might need vaccinations for? I know lots of people on here seem to ask the same questions all the time, but any individual help you can give me would be great.
This is a huge life change and I just want to know as much as possible.
thanks,
Chelsea

Advice sought - Moving to Kuwait in a month Posted: Wed March 28, 2007 04:32 AM UTC
Hi all,
relocating from the US to Kuwait soon. Is a 2500 KD monthly salary going to be alright? That is supposed to cover all my expenses , house, car etc. Would I be expected to spend about 500KD for a 3 BR? I do have 2 young kids and was a bit concerned about them dealing with the extreme summer and also curious about quality of medical care available. Also, how is the political situation now, given the Iraq war going on?
