Visa for Kuwait Posted: Fri April 17, 2009 07:06 PM UTC
I will be in Kuwait for about 15 hours, on my way to Bangladesh, and I would like to leave the airport to see Kuwait City. However, I have a Cyprus passport, and I am not entitled to a visa on arrival at the airport. Does anyone know whether that rule (of 35 countries whise citizens can obtain a visa on arrival) is strictly enforced? Would I be able to may be get a transit visa instead?
If the answer to the above is "No" (!), how can I get "sponsored" by a Kuwaiti national (or may be hotel) in order to get the visa approved?
Thanks for your help.

Needing to bring my husband over Posted: Mon November 10, 2008 02:04 PM UTC
Dear friends
I am staying in kuwait at the moment. I am still waiting for my residency to be processed. I would like to bring my husband over ASAP before christmas and our anniversary. Is there a way he can come over on a visiters visa without me sponsoring him. Or should I wait to sponsor him. What is the process we have to go through and what documents do I need? I am from South Africa. Does anyone know of a position available for a technician with ten years experience????
Please help

Motorcycling in Kuwait Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 06:36 PM UTC
Has anyone on VT learned to ride a motorbike in Kuwait? Are there any places which do motorbike lessons? The only place I know of is Tristar but they seem to be a bit pricey. Also, to ride a motorbile as a learner i understand i nead a learners permit - how can this be obtained and how easily? And what about taking the motorbike test - what does that involve?
Thanks in advance.

THEY LOST MY LUGGAGE Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 11:41 AM UTC
Help!
I have arrived in Kuwait City without luggage and only have the clothes on my back. I have/had several meetings set up but am wearing jeans and sneakers.
Not Good!
Where can a Westerner safely go to shop (in a mall preferrably) by taxi? I don't want high end, only something to get me through this crisis. Something like a Carrefour.
THANKS!

All thoughts are appreciated.

Studying Arabic in Kuwait? Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 01:52 AM UTC
I am a college student interested in learning Arabic. By summertime, I will have completed 2 semesters of Arabic. I am extremely interested in continuing my learning of Arabic over the summer, and I was wondering where the best place to learn the language would be. Some things that are of importance to me are: quality of instruction, location of the school, and activities outside of the school. Since I am going alone, I want to study somewhere where I won't feel secluded or outside of society. Also, scenery is of great importance. All things considered, where would you guys recommend studying Arabic? (I want to study for a period of about 2 months...I'm not sure if that changes anything). ( I know I posted this about a month ago in the Sousse and Damascus forum; however, those are no longer options.)

Kuwait Dress Code & Visa Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 01:50 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm travelling to Kuwait in a week for my job. I'll only be there for 3 days, one of which I have to myself and I intend to see the city and all its sights. As I am a female who will be travelling alone I am concerned about safety and also how to dress. Is Kuwait a safe city to explore alone? Obviously I will be conservatively dressed while there, I am just wondering how conservative I should be? As the weather will be hot, is it ok for a woman to wear open toed shoes or flip flops or should I have my feet completely covered? I will most likely have my legs covered and arms too but if it is very hot would I be OK to bare my arms in a t-shirt or legs in cropped trousers? Of course mini skirts and halter tops are out of the question but is a little exposed skin ok to make the climate more tolerable.
Also I have a question about a Visa. I am aware that as an Irish citizen I can purchase my visa at the airport when I arrive. Can somebody please tell me if this can be paid for with a credit card or if it must be paid for with cash (and if cash is only accepted, is it only Kuwait Dinars?). Finally, are there ATMs in the airport?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Lauren

First Time Visitor Visa Requirements Posted: Sat December 22, 2007 07:38 PM UTC
Hello Fellow VT's
I know this has been coverd before, however as I am getting conflicting advice, could someone please clarify the first time visa requirements for me.
Both my wife and I are Kiwi (New Zealander's)and we will be passing thro' Kuwait in Oct 08. We would like to spend 3 nights in Kuwait.
I understand that the Kuwait Govt. will allow citizens of New Zealand to obtain a visa upon arrival at Kutait Airport.
However some web sites I have read talk about the need to be sponsored.
My confusion is, are these sites "out of date" or not very clear in relation to those who get a visa upon arrival and those who cannot?
Any advice/assistance would be greatly appreciated - thank you

Hello..help! My Dad's greencard Posted: Tue November 6, 2007 08:46 PM UTC
Hello,
I was hoping if someone could offer some clarification. My dad is a U.S. resident who is planning to visit me in Kuwait for one week in January. He is filling out a re-entry permit (which i don't think he needs one since he will only be out of the US for only a week..buy anyways). Is he going to be o.k. passing through customs in Kuwait? Will they give him any problems at customs in Kuwait because of the the fact that he is US resident and not a citizen. Are there any other forms he needs to fill out? I need a response ASAP..thank you soooo much!
