Travelling Jordan & Israel in 1 week Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 06:08 AM UTC
Hi all,
I live in Canada, currently working in Irak rotating 28/28. I want to visit Jordan and Israel the last week of January in my way to home. My flight has a stop in Amman, that is the reason I must start my visit in Amman and come back here to take my flight to home. I dont know if i should go to Israel first via King Hussein bridge and come back to Jordan through same bridge or going to Eliat and re-entry to Jordan through south and visit Aqaba and Petra.
Should i re-entry to Jordan through same gate i out?
Can i get a Israel visa at the border (i carry a Ecuadorian passport)?
Should i ask a multiple visa in Jordan?
Taking a flight one way from Tel Aviv to Amman is quiet expensive, but i would consider this posibility if there is a problem to cross the borders.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Need 7 day itinerary Posted: Mon October 26, 2009 12:34 AM UTC
Im looking for an itinerary for a week at the end of November.
I will have to fly in and out of either Amman or Aqaba (one way flights are too expensive) so it must be a circuit lasting about 7-8 days.
All I have so far is that I want to spend a couple of nights at a nice Dead Sea resort at the end of the trip to relax prior to going home (have the Movenpick in mind). While there I would like to spend a day hiking at Wadi Mujib (it seems reasonably close by, right?).
But other than that I don't know what to plan. I just want to see cool stuff/Jordanian life. I would of course like to see Petra and I suppose one should see Wadi Rum whilst in Jordan.
My criteria are that I don't want to be running around frantically trying to fit things in and that I don't want to be making long bus trips so if its possible to have the places that I overnight be about 2-3 hours apart that would be good.
Can you suggest any plans for me? It's difficult to judge how long journeys between sites will take, and how easy it will be to make the connections between places.
Thanks.

Buses Petra-Aqaba Posted: Tue October 20, 2009 08:02 PM UTC
Can anybody give me some indication of how (in)frequent buses from Petra to Aqaba are? I'll be there in early December, travelling out on a weekday, so no Sabbaths to worry about.

Is Jordan right for me? Posted: Sun October 18, 2009 02:53 PM UTC
I would like to visit Jordan soon for a while (7-10 days) but I'm not sure it's really for me.
If I said I'm not great at meeting new people (e.g. in the context of a day trip) and that I'm not mad about buses and generally being in a confined space with lots of people where I'm constrained to remain in the situation, would you say a trip to Jordan might not be the best idea for me?

Getting from Petra to Israel? Posted: Sun October 11, 2009 09:20 PM UTC
I will be traveling to Jordan in January to see Wadi Rum and Petra. I need to leave Petra and get to Israel next and need to reach either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv as quickly as possible on a Friday afternoon. Most posts seem to send everyone toward Eilat, but is there a way to get from Petra to Jerusalem more directly by the Allenby Bridge? Are there busses that go this route or would I have to go all the way to Amman first. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Petra, Beduin camp in Wadi Rum, the dead sea and red sea Posted: Tue October 6, 2009 11:49 PM UTC
Hi, I was thinking to do a circuit to Petra staying in a beduin camp, camping in Wadi Rum, visiting the dead and maybe some scuba diving in the red sea in December, during the Christmas/New Year period.
I was wondering if maybe it might be too cold and therefore not worth going in December. Please advice !!!! It would be a christmas gift to my partner and I want to make sure that we'll enjoy the trip without any worries about the weather.

DEAD SEA Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 08:02 AM UTC
Hi, Can someone tell me what I should take with me when I visit the Dead sea during the first week of December?
Will a swimsuit be ok or is it better to wear shorts and a top?
Are there any massages that are recommended? if so, what would it cost?
Is a shower cap recommended or is it better to get your hair wet?
How long should one float on the water?

Luggage hold while doing jeep tour at Wadi Rum Posted: Thu September 10, 2009 02:31 PM UTC
Hello,
I will be coming to Wadi Rum from Petra and want to do the half day tour before going to Aqaba to catch my 19:30 flight.
My husband and I will have a suitcase each with our backpacks.
Is there a place where we can store these while doing our tour or will our tour hold our luggage for us?
Thanks for any information.

Our plan is to head straight to Petra. Stay overnight and head back to Amman early evening of day 2. Then do a day trip to Jerash on day 3.
Any thoughts on this plan, suggestions???

Single Young Woman in Jordan? Posted: Mon July 13, 2009 05:28 PM UTC
Hello,
I may be going to Jordan for a month or two this winter. I have a place where I can stay and work for room and board in the Wadi Rum desert, but I am concerned about whether or not this is safe. I'm a 21 year old girl from the US who looks/seems younger and I will be traveling alone. Before I head into the desert I would really like to visit Petra and some other sites by myself. Is this recommended? I have traveled alone in Europe before, but not anywhere else. I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks
