Cork Fligth connections Frankfurt (Germany) to Cork
Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 08:09 AM UTC
Hey there,

it seams that there are no direct flights from Frankfurt to Cork.

Are there any other airports which are not to far away from Cork and which have direct connections to and from Frankfurt?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Cork Ardfield B&B in Ballinhassig?
Posted: Sat May 31, 2008 02:43 PM UTC
We have accomodations at Ardfield B&B in Ballinhassig, Co. Cork. We are trying to determine how far this is from....well everything. We are interested in seeing Kinsale, Cobh, Blarney Castle, Rock of Cashel and Tipperary...but should any of these be tackled while we are in Wexford or on the way to Galway? Thanks for any suggestions!

Cork Short Break in Cork
Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 07:51 AM UTC
Hi, my wife and I ( late 60s ) will be coming from Edinburgh for about four days in September. Is the airport the best place to hire a car ? No accommodation booked so what is the best way to explore the area ? E.G. One night B&Bs ? What is the going rate for 3* B&B ? For such a short stay would we be better off using public transport to and from airport and just book day trips from a B&B based in the city?

Cork info on day trips out of cork using public transportation
Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 10:07 PM UTC
Hello,
I'll be in Cork for a few weeks and am looking for day trips using public transportation. I'm already planning visits Cobh and Kinsale. From the center of Kinsale, how long (at a leisurely pace) does it take to walk to James Fort? What about Charles Fort?
Any other day trips by bus I should consider?
Thanks.

Cork From Dublin Airport to Cork
Posted: Mon October 8, 2007 01:00 PM UTC
Hi all,

I will be landing in Dublin Airport on October 21st at around 2pm. I need to get to Cork and I was wondering if it's better taking a train or a coach bus. I looked for info on the net and I found out buses takes 4 hrs and trains 2.50 hrs. What do you suggest? I will take a bus from the airport, and if I'm not wrong it'll take me to Grafton St, Dublin. The bus to Cork leaves from Westmoreland St. The trains should be leaving from Heuston Square. Which of these places is closer to Grafton?? Cause I'll have my luggage with me! :-))

Cork Bus day tour from Cork
Posted: Fri July 27, 2007 03:10 PM UTC
Hello,
If I had to choose between a bus day tour of The Ring of Kerry OR the Lakes of Killarney....what would you recommend, and why? If you went on one of these (or both), how did you enjoy them? I am looking at https://www.buseireann.ie.

Also, are Cobh and Kinsale near each other and accessible via public transportation? I am thinking of visiting both in one day, since I will only be in the Cork area for 3 days. Is that too much for one day or are they close enough for it to be realistic?

Thanks!

Seeking suggestions for places to go for a daytrip or afternoon that are less than hour from Cork City and are accessible via public transit. Seeking someplace beautiful and not absolutely overrun with tourists.

Thinking of visiting Kinsale and also taking a day bus tour of the Ring of Kerry. 25f, will be there in August for a couple of days.

Recommendations appreciated!

Cork Need Advise About Tour From Dublin to Blarney Castle
Posted: Wed July 18, 2007 02:17 AM UTC
Hello. My sister and I will be in Ireland from September 4th through the 7th. One thing she REALLY wants to do is visit Blarney Castle and "kiss the stone". I have read that it is not the greatest tourist spot and may not be worth the time we will take to go there, but it is the one thing she must do while in Ireland. Can someone recommend a tour company that leaves Dublin, and goes to Blarney Castle, Cork, and maybe other really "should not miss" locations all in the same day?????? We won't have a car, and would prefer to take the rail tours.
Thanks, Kim

Cork Do you know Cork City Centre well?
Posted: Fri March 9, 2007 09:36 PM UTC
I have been to Ireland a few times but never to Cork. I am taking my father and his wife who are in their mid 70's and her son and her sons wife in their late 50's.

I want to stay somewhere in Cork that is very nice. Where is the nicest part of Cork to stay? Or, should I skip Cork and stay in Killarney? We will be staying for 2 nights and then must go to Galway for a few days afterwards.

And advice would be grately appreciated.

Thank you. James Fitzgerald

Cork Campervan in Ireland
Posted: Wed March 7, 2007 06:52 PM UTC
I'll be in Ireland for the merry month of May with my wife and campervan. I'm Irish but live in France and we're going to relive a tent holiday we had before we were married. Now France is very set up for campervans but are there any services besides campsites along the road. And can we stop anywhere? They sound stupid questions now that I look at them but I need to know. Your help would be most appreciated.

Cheers for now

Hi All,

Am currently looking at relocating with my parents from Bedfordshire, England to Cork. Would anyone know how easy it is to obtain work in administration/reception in and around the city centre? Also is Cork and surrounding area a good location for people in their 20's to live?

Cork car hire from airport
Posted: Fri November 17, 2006 07:22 PM UTC
hi people

id like to hire a small car from cork airport from saturday am to sunday pm

carhire3000 says £43 and this includes insurance, fuel (which must be returned full) and other thingd which i require.

however, looking on 'http://www.auto-europe.co.uk/car.cfm' they seem to want you to pay a YOUNG DRIVERS FEE as i am 23, i think this is just going to get expensive.

as i clearly havnt hired a car before, who can advise me on the best company to use and to avoid getting wripped off?

im happy paying £50 for the duration but i really dont want any surcharges or nasty surprises.

not bothered about what car it is, either

many thanks for your input

cheers,

Cork South African with a few q's
Posted: Mon October 23, 2006 10:06 AM UTC
Hi all

I'm South African and just got a job at University College of Cork (UCC). I have a few questions that you helpful guys could perhaps help me out with :)

1. What is the average cost of living (food, etc) in Cork / month?
2. How much is a Big Mac Meal (this is a useful indicator)
3. How good is the public transport system ie. will I be able to get from basically anywhere around Cork City to UCC every day without massive walks?
4. What is the cost of a second hand oldish car (eg. 1995 - 2000 VW Golf / Ford Escort - not sure what cars are cheap/popular there?)

Thanks!
