Dingle Transportation Help! Kilkenny to Dingle
Posted: Wed January 14, 2009 07:56 PM UTC
Hi, my friend and I plan to travel from Kilkenny to Dingle. We will NOT be renting a car. We will stay 1 night in Kilkenny and next morning go to Rock of Cashel and then onto Dingle. I am hoping there is a bus that goes to Rock of Cashel from Kilkenny. However, I don't know if we should return to Kilkenny to take a train to Tralee, or maybe Killarney? And then bus into Dingle from either of these two cities? Or, is there a bus from Cashel into Dingle?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Dingle cycling the dingle peninsula
Posted: Fri August 8, 2008 11:05 PM UTC
I would like to rent a bike and cycle the peninsula. Can this be done in a day? What difficulty level is it? Are helmets mandatory? Can I rent a bike for several days? Where is the best place to rent?

Cheers

Dingle Leaving Dingle on the 29th?
Posted: Thu July 31, 2008 07:51 PM UTC
Hello there!

I need to get to the Shannon Airport for the morning of August 29th. Can anyone suggest some options for me? I am hoping that I don't have to leave Dingle on the 28th, but I might have to. Has anyone taken a taxi to Shannon from Dingle and what kind of cost might I expect?

Cheers

Dingle Traditional Irish music
Posted: Sun March 16, 2008 09:11 AM UTC
Although I've been to Dingle many times, we never stayed overnight there, so I don't know what the music scene is like in the evenings. Any suggestions for first timers? We'd prefer to go to only one place rather than hop around. Thanks very much.

Dingle what shall we do with two 12 year olds?
Posted: Fri March 14, 2008 05:13 PM UTC
My husband and I along with our 12 year old daughter and her friend are visiting ireland for the first time next week We are staying in Doonmanagh and would love some ideas on places to visit that will interest the girls. They both love wildlife, horses and old churches and monuments. I have looked on line but i think it best to ask people who have been to the area. Any suggestions, we will have a car so travelling around is no problem

Dingle Transpot Shannon to Dingle
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 09:44 PM UTC
I am traveling from Shannon airport to Dingle to meet up with some friends who will already have a rental car. I am looking for the best mode of transportation to get there in a reasonable time. I have looked at bus and train schedules and the closest drop off for a rental car is Kerry airport. Any suggestions? You may email me directly at cary@generalshiprepair.com

Dingle Tours of Dingle Bay Peninsula?
Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 10:56 PM UTC
Hi,
I will be in Cork City in a few days and I would like to take a day tour of Dingle (will not be renting a car). Are there any companies you would recommend? I know Bus Eirann offers tours. Any insight you have would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dingle Inch Beach
Posted: Thu August 9, 2007 08:44 PM UTC
I was at Inch Beach on Saturday, 4th August and on the side of a building was a verse. I know that it started: Dear Inis must I leave thee

I can't remember the rest of the verse. Is there anyone that can help with this.

Kind Regards

I've wanted to swim with a dolphin for years but really can't afford the Bahamas. I've a BIG birhtday approaching this year and wonder how likely it is that I'll be able to swim with Funghi. Does anyone know if this is a possibility ?

Dingle Honeymoon in Dingle
Posted: Fri February 9, 2007 07:06 PM UTC
I went through Dingle a couple years ago and fell in love. I have convinced the bride to be to spend 4 or 5 days here in the middle of March. How is the weather this time of year (we are both from sunny Florida) and is it better to fly into Shannon or Cork? I have never rented a car in Ireland (was too young before) but have decided to have a go this time round. What would be a couple great day trips from this area? She loves towns lined with old, beautiful buildings. This is her first time out of the country, so I want this trip to convince her to come back the following year for a couple of weeks. Thank you for any suggestions or advice.

Dingle Self Guided Walking Tour of Dingle Way
Posted: Thu February 8, 2007 01:45 AM UTC
My husband and I are planning a walking tour of Dingle Way in May. Do you advise us to plan an independent self-guided tour? Or would you recommend booking a guide with a small group of people?

If we do a self guided tour, do you think we'll have trouble getting our luggage transported to our next accomodation?

Thanks so much for your help!

How far is the walk into the center of town...the main pubs, restaurants, etc? Also, is this a wise location for those traveling without a car?

We will be touring Dingle Peninsula in first week of November. What can we expect of the weather? Could one do the peninsula circular tour by bicycle in November and are the bike rental shops still open in first week of November?

Dingle Drive Dingle Peninsula or Ring of Kerry - Pick one or the other...
Posted: Thu June 29, 2006 05:28 PM UTC
We will be traveling to Ireland in Oct. and would like to know if we should skip the Ring of Kerry for a more manageable drive of the Dingle Peninsula. Time is really not an issue, but if our experience will be similar with several hours less in the car, then I would choose to use those other hours for more productive items like pub crawling.

Dingle Dingle Peninsula or Aran Islands??
Posted: Thu March 23, 2006 09:05 PM UTC
I would appreciate any insight that could be offered from someone that has experienced both the Dingle Peninsula and Inishmoor (Aran Islands). I will only be able visit one or the other because of logistics and time constraints. I will be in Ireland the last weekend of May. I have heard great things about both and I know that each have their unique qualities, but I can only visit one of them. I will have 1 full day and 1 night to dedicate to whichever place I choose. Please help!

Dingle July in on Ireland's West Coast
Posted: Thu May 29, 2003 01:02 AM UTC
I'm looking for a flat, studio, large ROOM - for the month of July. I am a writer/teacher on a budget traveling solo, so the E700 a week does NOT get it - I am trying to beat a B & B price. I have toured the west twice before, and love both Connemara and Dingle (it's a real toss up). I have followed the webads - but really need a local connection to find the "undisclosed" little place for me. HELP - I had one and it evaporated Monday! PS I'm good on questions of solo travel all over the UK and most of Ireland.
