All Day Ticket Posted: Tue May 26, 2009 06:25 PM UTC
Hello,
I will be arriving on a cruise, on August 27, at the Port. Where can I board the DART, for an all day ticket, that takes me all around the bay? I've been to Dublin several times, but not on this train tour. I understand it costs about 8 Euros/ticket. Is this correct?
Thank you for your help.

Any Day Tour from Dublin to Moher cliffs on Sunday?? Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 04:57 PM UTC
Hi all,
I'll have a weekend in Dublin this summer, and besides of seeing the city's attractions I'd like to visit the famous Moher cliffs, taking a 1-Day trip which operates from Dublin.
Unfortunately I will only have 3 days and as I cannot plan something like that to the day of the flight arrival (Saturday) or the day of the flight departure (Monday), it leaves only Sunday for such an activity.
I tried to search the Internet but from what I was able to find all the companies that have such 1-day trips operate Monday-Saturday only.
Does anyone know if there is any tour company that works on Sunday as well?
Thanks a lot in advance;-)

weekend of the 22nd May 09 Posted: Wed May 13, 2009 02:28 PM UTC
Hi, there is 8 of us in our late 30's coming to Dublin for a stag do.. we are not your teenage lads coming to wreck the town but we do want to have fun. I am the best man and most have never been to Dublin before (I went about 15 yrs ago) and as best man I want to take the guys to some of the best places to let our hair down and enjoy some nightlife that will give us the true taste of ireland - what are your suggestion? On either the friday or sat it would be good to end up in a typical irish pub with live music the other has to be a 80's disco... again any suggestions? we are staying off temple bar (of course)

Weather in July Posted: Tue May 12, 2009 08:13 PM UTC
From my internet research, it looks like the average temperature in Dublin in July is the high 60s (farenheit)--is that usually the case? Looking at several hotels with great rates, there just isn't air conditioning. Thanks.

pubs serve wine or just beer?? Posted: Mon May 11, 2009 03:20 AM UTC
Just wondering if Irish pubs serve wine and not just beer--the ones in America do (at least the ones I have been to) but not sure if that is the case in Ireland. Thanks.

Day Trips From Dublin Posted: Sun May 3, 2009 03:33 AM UTC
Greetings All,
I will be making my first trip to Dublin next month and won't have long there at all. I'd like to have some suggestions about the absolute "must do" day trip out of Dublin. Should we take a train? Rent a car? Hire a driver? Where do we go?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
TH in Texas

where is best place to see irish music and irish dancers in one place in dublin Posted: Tue April 28, 2009 08:37 PM UTC
A group of us from the USA are going to Dublin this fall, and we only have one night which we can go to see Irish Dancing and hear Irish Music. I was looking at The Merry Ploughboy Pub in Rathfarnham as a possibility. But then I also saw something about an Irish House Party in Landsdowne Inn in Ballsbridge. Does anyone have any comments or recommendations?

Plays, DART, Running, Oh MY! My friend and I will be in in Dublin the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of Sept Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 11:47 PM UTC
Hello,
We are both interested in seeing a play one night while we are in town, but I haven't had any luck finding a listing.
This will be my 4th trip to Ireland and Dublin in the last few years, but my friends first. Since it's such a short trip, I would like to get her out to the Irish country side. I had thought about taking the DART down to Wicklow area(something I haven't done). I vetoed her idea of the Blarney stone as a day trip as it just doesn't seem possible. If I am wrong, please let me know. I have also thought of doing Newgange(something I have done before). I had also thought about doing a trip up to Howth(something I had done via private tour) with dinner at the abby. But I can't find a time table on how late the trains run. So if someone can help me with that.
My friend is a runner and she is wanting to get up in the mornings and run. We will be staying at the Jurys Inn Christ Church area. I have walked that area both at night and in the morning area, but always with a group. I don't know if it's safe enough for her to be running by herself in the pre-dawn?? Running is a must for her, as she is taking part in a half marathon in Glasgow, Scotland on the 6th of Sept. So any suggestions of a safe or better location would be great.

Electricity in Ireland Posted: Sun March 29, 2009 11:06 PM UTC
I have not been to Ireland in years and wanted to know if you are from the US do you still need to bring electricty converters. I have found some hair dryers that can convert but I can't find anything for a flat iron. Some of the B&B's say they have hair dryers but on some of the blogs I notice people say not to trust that.
Ladies can you help with this?

Bank Holiday Closures Posted: Fri March 20, 2009 07:00 PM UTC
Hello All -
I know that Monday, 04 May is a Bank Holiday in Ireland, and I will be visiting that week. Are most businesses, museums, and tourist spots closed or open this day? What about inter-city trains?
I have not seen specific closure announcments for this day on some sights' websites, but wanted to check with locals and others for their on-the-ground knowledge.
Thank you!

Walking around with DSLR Posted: Mon March 16, 2009 07:50 AM UTC
I would like to know how safe it is for me to be walking around Dublin taking shots with my dslr camera. I won't be particularly taking pictures of people, but more of scenery, streets and buildings.
To add, my partner and I obviously look foreign cos we're Asians (She's Chinese and I'm Malay).
So far I haven't had any problems in China, S.E.Asia and Australia, cities and villages alike. Since it's my first time travelling to Europe, I would appreciate some advice since I've read a lot about how dangerous Dublin can be. I hope what I've read is untrue.
Thanks in advance ;-)

Airport to City Centre by bus - have I got this right? Posted: Sun March 15, 2009 08:29 PM UTC
I think - I hope - I figured out how to get from the airport to the city centre:
Bus 16a seems to be the best way.The blue numbers in front of the stops are the stages, right? So I counted the stages, and came to 17 if we get off at Kelly's corner. That would be 2,20 Euro per adult and 1,00 Euro per child under 16,right?
I know it has to be the exact fare. Can I pay for all of us (six people) using a 10 Euro note and some coins or do I need to have the exact amount in small change?
And another question: To get to Harcourt Street, would Kelly's Corner be the best stop?
Thank you in advance.
