tour times and cost Posted: Fri June 26, 2009 11:31 PM UTC
I was wondering how much a usual tour of the Ross Clan Castle would cost. Also, what are the usual times for the tours, and do you need a reservation?

Train from Killarney to Dublin or Hire a Driver Posted: Thu September 11, 2008 01:19 AM UTC
Hello,
My Wife and I will be staying in Killarney for a few days this October before going to Dublin. We are trying to decide if we should take the train to Dublin or hire a driver (we won't have a rental car). The driver is more expensive but will include a tour of the Rock of Cashel. How easy is it to get to travel by train from Killarney to Dublin? Is the Rock of Cashel worth a stop off on the way to Dublin,
Thanks,
HunterP

Pools open to the public Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 09:54 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm looking for a swimming pool/jacuzzi open to the public in Killarney. I do know several of the spa complexes have special facilities with herbal saunas and fancy showers, but these cost 25 euros to use, and we don't particularly like saunas. Paying 25 euros/$40/£20 just to use the pool and jacuzzi is way too steep. Any suggestions for a less expensive option? Many thanks.

Armagnac Posted: Sat May 12, 2007 10:09 AM UTC
My husband loves Armagnac, and the past several times when we were in Ireland we scoured the places that sell wines and whiskeys but could not find any (except in bars, but we want to buy a bottle). Does anyone know if it's possible to buy Armagnac in Killarney, and if so, where? Thanks very much.

Hi there,
We're going to Ireland for a couple of weeks. We want to pack light, so we're wondering if there are places to do laundry in Killarney. We'll have been out on the road for about a week, so we'll need a place by then. Any ideas?

Anyone been to Killarney Summerfest? Posted: Tue February 28, 2006 03:56 PM UTC
We're thinking of running a lads' trip to Killarney in July for the Summerfest - on the basis that it's likely to be rammed with people and there'll be loads of live music and great craic in the bars. Anyone know if this is true?
Or is there a better festival in Western Oreland during late June-late July that we should be heading to instead for drinking, music and lads' stuff (golf, horse racing, jet skiing etc)

mobile phone in Ireland Posted: Tue January 10, 2006 08:20 PM UTC
I'm riding my bike around the Ring of Kerry this summer (very excited) I will be doing this solo and the company that is setting this up for me recommends a mobile phone. I have looked online to rent one and I know I can get one when I start my trip from the states, but I'm wondering if I can pick one up in Dublin or in Kilarney (where my trip starts)? Any suggestions, has any one ever rented a mobile for travel. Thx

I will be living in Killarney for a few months and I am stuggling to pack a suitcase! Is it easy to purchase things such as hairdryers, shampoo and conditioner and FOOD? I can't seem to find a grocery store on any websites!
Also, how is travel? I'm not needed to sight see, but more so - get around!
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Killarney over Easter Posted: Wed March 23, 2005 05:02 PM UTC
Hi,
I'll be visiting Killarney with my mother over Easter (Sunday-Tuesday). Will it be business as usual over the holiday?
What are the highlights of County Kerry ? We would be interested in seeing spectacular scenery rather than castles, towns etc.
Also, any recommendations for pubs in the evenings ?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

URGENT NEED OF INEXPENSIVE ACCOMODATION - 14 AUGUST Posted: Mon August 2, 2004 05:49 PM UTC
Hi, I am going to see the Gipsy Kings in Killarney on AUGUST 14 at the INEC. I have my ticket. One thing taken care of. I tried getting a flight and the only one I could get was from Belfast to Cork and would cost me between 37 and 58 pounds (early flight or late flight) AND it would have to be on Friday night. SO I will be driving there - either through Dublin or diagonally. That leaves me with accomodations to take care of. I NEED HELP!!!! I am going on my own and the cheapest B&Bs I found were 43Euros per person per night (for a double room). Since I will be having my car, I do not mind sleeping in a nearby town. Does anybody have any ideas? Or can someone put me up for the night? (It would be for Saturday August 14 only.) Thanks a million, zuzu

GIPSY KINGS ARE IN TOWN AUG 14, 2004 - LET'S MAKE A VT MEETING OUT OF IT!!! Posted: Tue July 13, 2004 04:21 PM UTC
(NOTE: This has been posted on the MEETINGS and EVENTS pages as well.)
TUESDAY JULY 13, 2004 Hello my dear friends, On the way to Dublin to catch my Dublin - Heathrow flight 2 weeks ago, I heard that THE GIPSY KINGS were performing on AUGUST 14, at the GLENEAGLE HOTEL, INEC, in KILLARNEY, County Kerry. Found Killarney on the map and I have yet to decide if I will be driving, taking the train or taking the train. It seems they have not broken up, i.e. they only concentred on other markets like the US and Asia. The tickets start at 65Euros. I do not know if there are any tickets left and I know it is expensive (about 44 pounds), but I thought maybe one or more of you would like to come with me. I just hope it is not too late to get tickets. (NOTE: On Wednesday July 7, I bought a ticket at 65Euros (total price: 70.95Euros) for myself.)
SO anybody game to make a VT MEETING out of this? Hope to hear from you soon, ZUZU
p.s. if you know of someone else that might be interested in attending this concert with me / us, please do not hesitate to pass on the information.

GLENEAGLE HOTEL - INEC - VENUE INFORMATION - URGENT!!! Posted: Wed July 7, 2004 07:31 PM UTC
Hello my dear VT friend, HELP!!! I recently posted something about THE GIPSY KINGS performing at the GLENEAGLE HOTEL on August 14, 2004. They will be performing in their auditorium, INEC. There is a map on the Ticketmaster Ireland website but it is difficult for me to evaluate if this is a big amphitheatre or not. SO, it is BIG or SMALL? Because if it is big, then I will purchase the best ticket I can afford. If it is not that big, like the Opera House in Belfast, then I can get away with buying a mid-priced ticket. Thank you in advance for you help in that matter. zuzu

GIPSY KINGS IN CONCERT ON AUGUST 14!!! - ANYONE INTERESTED? Posted: Tue July 6, 2004 02:23 PM UTC
Hello my dear friends, I am still in Montreal at the present moment. It is the Jazz Festival and it is humid like crazy! I am not used to that anymore! Anyway, on the way to Dublin to catch my Dublin - Heathrow flight, I heard that THE GIPSY KINGS were performing on AUGUST 14, at the GLENEAGLE HOTEL, INEC, in KILLARNEY, County Kerry. I don't know where that is yet, but I would like to go see them as I am a big, big, fan. It seems they have not broken up, i.e. they only concentred on other markets. The tickets start at 65Euros. I do not know if there are any tickets left and I know it is expensive (about 44 pounds), but I thought maybe one or more of you would like to come with me. I just hope it is not too late to get tickets. If it is difficult to get tickets together, we can get them separately, I don't mind, so long as we get to see the show - we can always meet up after the show. What do you think? Hope to hear from you soon, ZUZU
p.s. if you know of someone else that might be interested in attending this concert with me / us, please do not hesitate to pass on the information.

Help please! Posted: Thu July 1, 2004 05:08 AM UTC
I'm going to Ireland and would like to stay in Killarney at the end of August. I've been looking at the following hotels on the web: Caslerosse, Killarney Towers, Killarney Ryan and the Gleneagle. Can anyone tell me anything about these hotels? Also I've gotten so many different rates for the hotels from different websites. I've heard so much about the jaunting cars. Are they expensive? Thanks everyone for your help!
