Albufeira Gone Fishing
Posted: Fri August 24, 2007 09:47 PM UTC
Hi, I am going to Albufeira in early September with a couple of mates and hope to do some fishing from the pier and rocks. To be honest I don't fish much, although am keen to impress as the other guys do. Does anyone have any experience of fishing in Albufeira, keen to know where is best to fish from and what to fish for? I have a very cheap kiddies rod and a few even cheaper lures bought on ebay; ideas appreciated? Thanks Col O Yard (the stard).

I will be in Madrid from 3rd till 5th and then to Portugal Albufeira from 6th till 12th. In the end I will be in Sevilla for 2 days (13th-14th Aug). Is anyone up for a meeting? Drinks, beers, eating or just sightseeing?

I can't believe nobody is visiting there this summer :-) I will be wth 2 friends and we are aged 26-30. Wanna join us? we will be visiting main attractions during the days and we will go clubbing at night.

Hope to hear from you

Albufeira Paraiso de Albufeira Apartments & VT meeting in Albufeira
Posted: Sun July 1, 2007 01:27 PM UTC
Hi people!

I found a nice place to stay in, and it has got good rates too. It is an Appartahotel complex called Paraíso de Albufeira and it is located in Rua do Minicípio, Lote 11 - 8200 Albufeira

Can anyone tell me if it is far from the city centre? Cause I heard public transport is not working at night in Albufeira and I would like to walk to nightlife lively areas to party all night long..

I will go to Albuefeira from August 06th till the 13th, is any VTer going there too? Anyone is welcome for a VT meeting!!

Albufeira Best area to book a flat/apartment
Posted: Thu June 28, 2007 09:22 PM UTC
Which could it be the best area to book a flat/apartment in Albufeira if my friends and I are looking to stay in the centre or next to the "Clubbing Area"? Any suggestions? I read the Old Town and The Strip have many discos/clubs, is it correct?

If someone who's into nightlife could give me any suggestions I'll be really glad.

Thanks

Albufeira Info on Albufeira
Posted: Thu June 28, 2007 09:08 PM UTC
Hello,

I need some info on Albufeira. I'd like to go there for one week or more with 4/5 friends. We are from 26 to 30 and we like to party and go clubbing. I was told Albufeira has discos, bars, and nice beaches to get tanned too. Is it all true? Can someone share their experience?

Do you also know some websites to book apartments there?

Any suggestion will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Albufeira A few Albufeira Questions
Posted: Thu June 28, 2007 06:26 PM UTC
Going to Albufeira for a week in the beginning of August with a group of 5-6 people. A couple questions. Can you take a direct train from Lisbon to Albufeira? Next, while there we were thinking of renting a car even though our villa is supposed to be within walking distance of everything. What do you recommend. Finally, we have heard some stories about Albufeira being dirty and seedy. Is this true?

Albufeira What to wear in March 2008
Posted: Thu June 28, 2007 01:51 AM UTC
Ola

May wife and I will be traveling to Albufeira in March of 2008.

Upon checking the temperature averages,I see that during the day it is 60 degrees F., some times spiking to 75 degrees F. and dropping to 40 degrees F. in the evening.

My simple way of soring out the clothing issue is to ask "should we take short sleeve shirts or long sleeve shirts or a combination of both???"

Albufeira Building Works in Old Town
Posted: Wed April 25, 2007 11:44 AM UTC
Hi, my friend and I went to Albufeira a few years ago and are looking to return for a week in June, staying in the Old Town. However, several sites have mentioned that there's quite a bit of building work going on while a new drainage system is continuing to be fitted. It appears that this was being carried out last year but has run over schedule. We just wondered how bad it is and whether it's nearing completion? We don't want to get there and for there to be total disruption, noise and mess! Any news and advice would be really appreciated, thanks.

Albufeira Help on choosing a hotel!!!!
Posted: Fri April 20, 2007 02:59 PM UTC
Hiya,

I'm going to Albufeira with my boyfriend at the end of June for one week and i'm a bit stuck on which hotel/apartment to go for. I've been looking at lots of reviews on the internet but not sure which are the 'real' good ones! We would like to be close to the beach and fairly close to the main strip and the old town. Not too sure on how everything is positioned. Would like to do some watersports, and be fairly close to some nice restaurants as we want to go self catering. Hotel to be clean and have a nice swimming pool and plenty of sunbeds. Not too fussed on the food in the hotel as we will eat out. Just something suitable for a couple! Can anyone give any suggestions and who to book with?

Thanks

Albufeira Portuguese language schools algarve

Can anybody suggest language schools in Faro or surroundings with a good reputation for a 1 week intensive course in portuguese with emphasis on conversation? I am a 'mature' student and would prefer to avoid the larger teaching establishments although any feedback would be welcome. Obrigado.

Albufeira Albufeira In November
Posted: Thu March 29, 2007 10:51 AM UTC
Hi, we have visited Albufeira & surrounding area many times and are thinking of a late holiday for a birthday treat in November this year. Will restaurants and bars still be open, we would be there 17th - 24th Nov ? Also would it be busier towards the old town rather than the strip ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thinking of staying at the Cerro Alagoa on the main road near the worms roundabout.

Thanks.

Albufeira Questions
Posted: Mon March 26, 2007 03:39 PM UTC
My wife and I spent two weeks in Albufeira last April and we fell in love with the area, the scenery, and the people. We are going back in October of this year and I can hardly wait.

Last year, we stayed at the Clube Oceano and we really enjoyed it. While it wasn't the fanciest of Aparthotels, it was kept clean, had a great view of the ocean, and was just a short walk to the beach. We are considering going back to the Clube Oceano, but are also considering the Oceanus in Olhos d'Agua. If anyone is familiar with the Oceanus, feel free to let me know what you think of that place. Does it has views of the Ocean?

When we visited in April last year, we had fantastic weather. It was certainly warm enough to lay on the beach and go swimming in the ocean. From my understanding, going in early October will have warm weather as well. Can anyone comment on the weather in early October? Also, does anyone know if it will be crowded in October? We didn't find it crowded whatsoever in April and it was very enjoyable.

Cheers,

Shane

Hello, Planning on a holiday in Albufeira end of June. Anyone know of any nice apartments/hotels to stay in. I don't really want to be staying on the strip, would rather be based in the old town but within walking distance to the new strip. Also, whats the weather like end of June? Any help/tips would be most appreciated.
