Abkhazia [provisional] Bordercrossing from Russia into Abkhazia

Hi everybody,

I'm contemplating to visit Abkhazia this autumn and I'm wondering if I'd need some kind of invitation and/or visa. I know I'll need a multiple entry visa for Russia to get back in, but what about Abkhazia?

Does anyone know if there is any boat-plane connection between Crimea and Abkhazia as to skip Russia? Unfortunately I don't have enough time to get a Russian visa, but I would love to visit Sukumi!

Abkhazia [provisional] Has anyone been there recently?

According to a documentary on TV this seems to be a lovely strech of land on the Black Sea coast. Does anyone know whether one can go there from Sochi as there seems to be a train but is it an official border crossing and would one need a Georgian visa?
