Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 08:29 AM UTC
I will be an intern medical student in Clermont Ferrand in August, 2008 and trying to find the best deal of transportation. Right now I found a discount flight to Basel-Mulhouse airport and trying to find a cheap way (bus, train, flight) to get to Clermont Ferrand from basel-mulhouse? Do you have any suggestions?

Ambert village of Vertolaye
Posted: Sun June 17, 2007 02:52 PM UTC
I am thinking of visiting the area and wonder if anyone knows this village. How big/small is it, what facilities does it have and what are the style of houses there. Is it easy to get to and what is the surrounding countryside like. Thanks

Auvergne Where to stay?
Posted: Mon December 25, 2006 03:25 PM UTC
My boyfriend and I have camped in the summer in Annecy and on the Il de Re and are considering the Auvergne for our next 2 week summer holiday. We'd like to stay near water/lake and in a decent family/friendly campsite. Any suggestions? It would be for the last week in July and the first week in August. Thanks

Le Puy-en-Velay The "mountain"
Posted: Sat September 3, 2005 06:22 PM UTC
On the next to last day of the tour-de-France, of 2005, I saw a "House" on top of an "Ice cream cone shaped" mountain. It may be a monestary or a small castle but there was only room for it on top of this pinnacle. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can give me more information about it. The tour this day ended in Le Puy En Velay so i assume it was in the vicinity if not in the city.
Thanks for any assistance.

Auvergne Issoire, France
Posted: Tue July 12, 2005 05:00 AM UTC
We are attending a wedding in Issoire in the first week of September. We are coming from Madrid, and would like to know the least expensive way to get there. We are planning on flying to Paris, and then take another flight near Issoire, or take the train. Is it hard to connect from the airport to the train station in Paris? Can you recommend a good car rental place in Issoire? We are thinking of spending an extra 3 days in Issoire. Is it a good base to make some nearby sites? ..... Thanks.

Mauriac Gites & What to do near Mauriac
Posted: Sat March 5, 2005 02:56 PM UTC
Bonsoir,
We are about to book a gite in Drugeac, near Mauriac and would love to hear from anyone living in Auvergne or Limousin with ideas on what to do and where to visit. In particular any good drives, as we are hoping to bring our new Mini to france and also loving walking. I hear that there is really good food, especially beef and cheese in Auvergne. I would love to hear about these. Any advice on English guidebooks to the region would also be very helpful.

Many thanks

Clermont-Ferrand Need weather advice for December trip to Clermont-Ferrand
Posted: Wed November 10, 2004 05:32 AM UTC
Hello!1 My husband is going to Clermont Ferrand 12/12-12/18... then 1 night inParis before returning home to San Francisco area. I don't like being cold, but this is a chance to accompany him and have free hotel...I can use my miles. Is it worth it at all, or should I let him go on his work trip without me, and I'll go later when it is warm. Just so anxious to go somewhere...or should I head to Hawaii by myself?
love France...
