Faro How much will things cost in the middle of September?
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 01:04 PM UTC
I'm hoping to take a one week holiday in September, and would like to visit Portugal.

How much would I spend in terms of accomodation and food/drink costs? i would probably stay in lower end accomodation.

I'd also like to visit one or two of the nearby islands. Any recommendations for where to go, what to see, where to stay?

can anyone help?

Many thanks,

We will be arriving in Faro and traveling to Portimao. Are there any grocery stores open on Sunday?
Are there any open air market days in the area?
What would be some suggestions of the best places to sample the foods of Portugal?
Thank you for any suggestions you may have, we are quite excited to experience this beautiful area.

Faro Monte do Casal Country Hotel
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 10:36 PM UTC
Hi

I am hoping to book a short, relaxing, week-end trip to Faro in June. I have seen this hotel which looks perfect but obviously it isn't cheap. I don't mind paying as long as it is worth the money. Does anyone have any comments please?

I am hoping the weather mid-June is normally settled and sunny.

Thanks for any comments

Faro Hours to Kill at Faro Airport
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 04:35 PM UTC
My partner and I are arriving in the morning whilst friends are arriving in the afternoon so we will need to kill some considerable time waiting.
Is there a left luggage facility at Faro and if so would it be sensible and possible to catch a bus to and from Faro Town or Beach.
With thanks in advance for responses

Faro Things to do over the Christmas period
Posted: Sat December 8, 2007 04:04 PM UTC
Thanks for all the information about trains to Seville, it is very helpful and much appreciated!

I was wondering if there was anything of particular interest happening in the Algarve around Christmas time, or anything that you could recommend to seeor do. We are there from the 20th until the 27th, getting there isnt a problem as we have a car.

Thanks!

Faro Train to Seville
Posted: Tue December 4, 2007 01:55 PM UTC
I'm going to Faro for Christmas and saw that Seville isn't that far away. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a train service that ran from Faro to Seville and how often it ran, how long it took? I will also have the car but read that it is really bad for parking and driving through, has anyone experienced different?

Thanks!

Faro Bus reservations (EVA)
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 06:59 PM UTC
My girlfriend and I are scheduled to arrive in Faro 24 December at 16.05. From there we want to go directly to Sevilla. Our only option is to take the 17.20 bus from EVA. I'd like to know whether it's possible to reserve and if so, how to. And might we miss this bus, do you happen to know if they also operate on Christmas Day. Thanks in advance,

Faro Parking a car at Faro train station
Posted: Sat October 13, 2007 11:56 AM UTC
Hi,
We are planning to drive from Sevilla to Faro and then park our rental at the station and take the train to Lisboa for a couple of days. Does anyone know about the parking facilities at Faro's train station? How much would it cost?
Or is it not worth the trouble and would it be better to drive to lisboa?
We are kind of afraid ending up with high parking charges if we take the car to lisboa.

The 24th of December, my girlfriend and I are flying to Faro and plan to travel directly to Sevilla from there. However, we land at 16.05 and the last bus leaves at 17.20 (EVA). Do we have enough time to go from the airport to the bus station?

Faro How do I bridge the train gap between Faro and Spain?
Posted: Fri May 11, 2007 03:32 PM UTC
Greetings from the US! I am planning an extensive Eurail trip through five countries and the only place it seems to break down is between the Algarve and Spain. It looks like there is a train station at Santo Antonio and another in Spain at Huelva...but nothing connecting them. Are there buses regularly? How great a distance is this? What do you folks do for this short journey?

While I am at it here are my travel plans, please feel free to comment. Traveling from Madrid to Faro in one day - I know it's a long day. Train, and whatever it takes for that last jump between Spain/Portugal. Two days in Faro with local travel by bus or car for exploring. Train to Lisbon for one day. Train to Biarritz, another long day. Are those all reliable trains? Many thanks!

Can anybody suggest language schools in Faro or surroundings with a good reputation for a 1 week intensive course in portuguese with emphasis on conversation? I am a 'mature' student and would prefer to avoid the larger teaching establishments although any feedback would be welcome. Obrigado.

Greetings:

Can anyone tell me whether it is feasible to go from Cadiz to Faro? If so, how? Perhaps Sevilla is a better departure city for getting to Faro.

Also, any insights on nightlife and beaches in Faro is much appreciated.
