Lagos Has anyone stayed at Casa Paula Hotel in Lagos?
Posted: Mon November 28, 2005 02:47 PM UTC
We have reservations at Casa Paula hotel (studio and 1 bedroom apartments) for a week in June/July. It is located in the town of Lagos. It looks good from the bookings.pt website, but the information is very limited. I have emailed the place with questions, but they only answer some of them. Please send any info/optinions, etc. on Casa Paula (not CASA PAULA I, II, III).

Lagos Long term apartment
Posted: Thu November 17, 2005 04:31 PM UTC
Hello,

My husband and I are looking for an apartment (not too expensive) in Lagos for 4 months (Feb to May 2006). We want to avoid larger built up tourist area. What is the best way to find one? Do local have apartment to rent? How much does it cost to rent for 4 months?
Also, my husband is an artist (drawing & painting). Where can we meet other artists in Lagos?
Thank you

Lagos Fly fishing in or around Lagos
Posted: Wed September 14, 2005 10:36 AM UTC
I am off to Lagos at the end of Sep. I would like to do some fly fishing Sea, river and lakes while I am there. Are there any good spots to try. Also does any one know if the fishing shop in the town stocks fly fishing gear? I think the one down by the harbour only specialises in sea gear.

Lagos Trains/buses from Faro - Lagos
Posted: Sat April 2, 2005 03:28 PM UTC
I am holidaying in Lagos this year, I have booked a flight & hotel package deal which does not include airport transfers. Can anyone tell me if there a bus service / train service that runs from Faro airport to Lagos centre? It would presumably be much cheaper than getting a taxi. Thanks.

Lagos Lagos working and general questions
Posted: Thu February 3, 2005 05:56 PM UTC
hi there
having decided im definately going to work somewhere warm this summer the suggestion of Lagos keeps comming up so i thought i would ask you all who have worked out there been out there what it is like? Ive been on several familiy holidays to albefura but never to Lagos so i dont really know much about it. Ive read it can get quite windy how windy are we talking? windy for wind surfing or blow you away when walking down a street windy?
also since i am probably going to end up working in a bar at the eve i wondered what positions are available for during the day time as im pretty sure that after 2 weks or so i will be bored of lying on the beach all day and also ive been told the wages arnt that good so in order to go home with some money for uni i would probably need somethin else besides waitressing. I would be looking for something outside during the day but not too bothered what. I also wondered what the protugese law/rules are with regards to street vendors as i make my own jewellry and was thinking this could be a good selling point during the tourist season i could set up on the beach front etc but dont want to end up in big trouble for this so if anyone knows of any problems i may have on this front plz let me know,
Basically im just after some general info on Lagos and whether i would enjoy spending 4 months there this summer or whether its the kind of place that your ok for a month or so but after that it gets a little boring.
Im not into the huge party scene and the last thing i want to do is go somewhere like ibiza where it is over run with brits drinking and throwing up and generally making a bad name for themselves but i do want friendly people a good nightlife and stuff to do on days off besides lie on a beach.

and one last question where can i learn to surf in portugal i heard there was a beach not too far from lagos?

thanks for help :)

Lagos Moving To Lagos
Posted: Sat January 8, 2005 10:40 AM UTC
I am a 20 year old wide eyed Canadian kid who is looking for a good time in a new atmosphere, making for some good stories along the way. I am leaving Vancouver Island on April 4th 2005. I am planning on taking a month of backpacking europe before i finish in Lagos. I am hopefully going to find some work preferably in a bar or a resourt. I know a few other people have been asking this aswell but i was wondering if it would be possible for me to get work. I also applyed for a working visa as of yesterday. Im not planning on leaving Lagos, or Portugal in general with money i just wanted to prolong my trip. Any way long story short i just was wondering if somebody could give me some information about living, working, and playing possabilities for a Canadian kid in a new environment.. Thank You..

Lagos Websites for Lagos and Tavira pensoes or residencias
Posted: Sun July 4, 2004 06:13 AM UTC
I am arriving in Lagos on July 17, 2004. I have lists of some possible pensoes or residencias in Lagos and Tavira, but after much searching, I have been unable to find websites with web links or e-mail addresses for them. Does anyone know of a good website with this information? I would prefer to book in advance, rather than take my chances when I get there!

Thanks for your help.

Lagos living in Lagos
Posted: Mon June 21, 2004 09:27 PM UTC
I am planning a crazy stay in Lagos Portugal to help me write a book. I have no contacts, jobs, or place to stay lined up there. I am going to book the ticket for three months. from July 13 to Oct 13. I plan on living there, instead of just visiting. I am looking for an apartment and a job, I can do anything from Bartend to construction to sales.... you name it, and I've probably worked it. I only have about $400 to live on till I find a job or have to head home early. Please let me know if you have any leads that can be of help

Lagos Need blood tests done in Lagos, Portugal
Posted: Mon April 26, 2004 10:10 PM UTC
My wife and I are going to be staying in Salema from June 2 through June 23.

My wife is taking coumadin (blood thinner) and is required to get a blood test done every week.
The test that must be done is called a "Pro Time" test.

Can you direct me to a doctor, laboratory or hospital in Lagos that can help me?
An email address would be wonderful. If not a telephone number would be OK.

THANK YOU.
Obrigado
