Arrive in Lagos tomorrow for a short break ... suggestions and helpful tips please ! Posted: Wed July 30, 2008 09:00 AM UTC
It 's our first time in Lagos or Portugal for that matter !
Any suggestions for making the trip a MAJOR success :)
Must see places ??
Best places to eat out - any little cafe you absolutely LOVE ??
My wife will eat virtually anything I am fussy and only eat plain and boring English / American type of food .
Best places to snorkel - we need rocks and cliffs for that so long sandy beaches are useless for finding fish .
We ave be warned AGAINST hiring a car as the locals drive like race drivers plus we have never driven on the WRONG side of the road .
Any other tips ??
Thanks in advance !

Stag Party coming to Lagos in Sept 05-08 Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 04:35 PM UTC
Hello all in Lagos; seems like a lovely place.
I have a question though. My mate is having his stag out there; which he took the liberty of booking himself! which he should not have been involved in!
He has organised a shark fishing day out amongst other things. There will be at least 20 well mannered Irish lads around from the 4 to the 8th of sept. I would like to make contact with someone who might be able to offer some advice on what to do at night for our group of lads; as it appears it is a quite town with little or no nightlife.
Again a stag is all about having good healthy fun so a healty supply of girls is necessary; so please spread the word that 20 minimum irish lads; ranging from 25-30 will be descending on your town. Any suggestions; referrals or other comments please write me at eughaz01@yahoo.co.uk.
Kindest regards; Eugene Hazel

Accomm in Lagos Posted: Thu July 12, 2007 11:52 AM UTC
Hey,
Now that I know where's hot to surf I am looking to see where is good to stay?
The plan is to appease the drinkers amongst us and do two nights on the beer in Albuferia then head down to Lagos for about 5 days mainly for the Surf in nearby Sangres.
Is it possible to pick up cheap and cheerful accommodation in Lagos or should this be booked in advance?
Ideally we would be looking for a cheap B+B for about €30 per man per night in late August.
Also is there a bus to the beaches in Sangres or is it better to rent a car? I am guessing you can rent boards on the beach.
Cheers,
Will

To Swim, or Not To Swim? Posted: Wed March 7, 2007 02:51 AM UTC
Heading to Lagos in 2 weeks. Spending a few days around Paia Dona Ana. I was wondering what the water temperature would be (approx.) and if swimming is possible, or crazy?
Also, want to head east into Cordoba or Sevilla, Spain. Are there trains or buses heading from Lagos to Cordoba / Sevilla?
Thanks for the help.

Dom Manuel Hotel Posted: Fri February 9, 2007 11:05 AM UTC
I am going to Lagos in july and staying at the Dom Manuel Hotel. Has anybody any experience of this hotel? Is it far out of the town? I haven't come across any reviews about this hotel - I've heard that it is a relatively new hotel and the accommodation is very good. I would appreciate any views or comments.
As this is my first visit to Portugal, I would welcome any suggestions regarding the location. Is the weather very warm at this time of the year? Would hiring a car be recommended ?

Lagos - Good place to live ? Posted: Mon January 8, 2007 05:16 PM UTC
I am thinking of buying an apartment or house somewhere (I can afford) in the Algarve and was wondering if Lagos(which I have heard good things about) is as good as they make out. Would be interested to hear from residents both summer and year round.
All advice appreciated

lagos in december Posted: Thu November 2, 2006 09:36 PM UTC
I went to Lagos in May and September this year and fell in love with the place so I am venturing there again for 10 days from 16th December (on my own this time). I spoke to people who live there whilst there in Spetember and they said there is still a party (especailly a round xmas) and that the weather isn't bad as well. Can some one verify this for me please??

Me and my sister is travelling to algarve end of july and we just fell in love with Casa da Moura. But the price is a little to high for our budget, considering that we have to cancel are reservation at the orther hotel (have to pay cancelation fee).
Can anyone here recommend some place to stay similar what Casa da Moura can offer. Then i mean the location, view, roof terrace etc. We do not want any big hotel or something. Just something cozy local.
Please....anyone?

Travelling from Lisbon to Lagos........... Posted: Tue June 6, 2006 05:33 PM UTC
Hello there-
My sister and I will be flying into Lisbon, renting a car and travelling to Lagos. If I rent a car at the airport, is there going to be a location in Lagos where I can drop the car off??? Also, I am Portuguese, not fluent in the language but have the basics down. I would like to gain employment in the Algarve. I am not a citizen of Portugal. I have an undergraduate degree in Business and a MAster's in Education. How could I begin looking for employment and do I need a working visa in order to do this. My dad is a citizen of Portugal so could I get dual citizenship w/ the USA and Portugal?
