Lisbon Transportation

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get from Lisbon, Portugal to Seville, Spain? Any ideas would be great. Or else I will end up riding back to Madrid, which is a 9hr train ride :( and then to Seville.

Lisbon From Lisbon airport to Carvoeiro
Posted: Mon April 28, 2008 01:53 AM UTC
Could anyone please advise the best way to travel from the Lisbon airport to Carvoeiro, in the Algarve? I see that there are some buses, but it seems a trip to Carvoeiro will require a transfer or two. Any advice?

Also, is it true that the EVA buses leave from Sete Rios? What is the best way to get to this terminal from the airport?

Many thanks in advance.

Lisbon Lisbon Bound
Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 05:26 AM UTC
I am off to Lisbon in June and have been reading that there are no public toilets in the city unless you are a guy of course and you have to use cafes and bars. I also read that some owners of these establishments won't allow you to use them unless you buy something. This subject is always a concern to me while travelling so I am getting a little anxious of what or where to go while visit. Any tips?

Lisbon Campera or Freeport Outlets?
Posted: Sat April 19, 2008 02:58 PM UTC
Hi guys,

Quite a superficial question but important nonetheless for us shopaholics!
Am only going to be spending 1.5days in lisbon, i have heard there is plenty of shopping to be done - in terms of outlet shopping, which is better, campera or freeport? this is in terms of range of brands as well as discounts!

also, im sure will be able to navigate my way there but any handy tips most welcome.

many thanks!

Thinking of buying a one day pass as only in lisbon for 8 hrs on a cruise stop. Understand you can buy them at carris kiosks or at metro stations. What would be the nearest place to the cruise port stop to purchase one. Thanks for any replies.

Where are pubs, clubs with independent/alternative music (punk, reggae)?
Any tips for portugese punk-bands to buy vinyl or cd in which record-shops?

Lisbon Cruise Lines that start or finish in Lisbon
Posted: Fri April 4, 2008 01:35 AM UTC
Because of illness, we have had to cancel our trip to Portugal and cruise from Lisbon to Venice. Royal Caribbean no longer has that particular cruise next year, but rather a 12 day cruise. Can someone tell me if there are other cruise lines (European) that might begin or end their cruises in Lisbon. Thank you.

Lisbon Hotel ZENIT telephone or e-mail!
Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 06:09 AM UTC
Dear,

I am Your frequent traveler and I now have one question. Me and my wife
want to go to Lisbon for 4 nights. That not will be a problem but Serbian
citizens must have a visa for entry in Portugal.

Portugal embassy in Belgrade have the request that HOTEL (which we choose)
must sent reservation form on email of embassy (portugalcons@sbb.co.yu) as
attacment. Only that kind of reservation they will accept. THats the reason why we need hotel ZENIT telephone or e-mail.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Ognjen and Tatjana.

Lisbon Places to eat
Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 10:40 AM UTC
Hi everyone. We'll be in Lisbon for a long weekend at the end of April and would like some recommendations on places to eat. The only catch is that we're vegetarians. I have read about a few places that are exclusively vegetarian. But I'd also like to know if there are other places (Indian and many asian restaurants usually have plenty of vegetarian fare) people would recommend. Thanks!

Lisbon Stay in Alfama, Chaido or Barrio Alto?
Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 01:57 AM UTC
My wife and I are staying three nights in Lisbon and I plan to book an apartment in one of these historic areas. I'd like to experience Old World charms but not be kept up all night by the nightlife. I suppose it depends entirely on what street I am on but I'm a little worried about the late night cafes in Barrio Alto.

Are Alfama and Chiado quieter? Also, Frommers warns of muggers in Alfama and Barrio Alto. Is there any merit to this warning? I'm from a big city so I know how to be careful but still, I'd like to avoid any seedy areas.

The ideal situation for me is to find a quiet residential street full of old grannies and kids, close to small shops, bakeries and cafes. I'd also like to be close to the major sights. We are not big partiers but having a late night coffee and pastries in an outdoor cafe would be nice.

Lisbon What is the easiest option for a family of five to get from the airport?
Posted: Wed February 13, 2008 12:15 PM UTC
What is the easiest option for a family of five to get from the airport to the city centre (Baixa) at 8.30pm?

I understand that taxis will only take four passengers (therefore we will need two, alternatively our lettings agency say they will pick us up for 50 euros, which seems extortionate for what looks like a short drive.

Also, What is a resonable price to pay for a taxi?

We are planning to go to Lisbon and spend three days at the end of May. I am looking for cental location hotel and narrowed my search down to three:
1. Britania
2. Dom Concalo Hotel and Spa
3. Corinthia Lisboa Hotel
Which hotel, in your opinion, is the best, or suggest something else in ~$150-200 price range.
Also, what is the average air and ocean temperature during this time of the year, since we are planning to spend few days at Algavre?
Thank you in advance

Hi, I'm going to be in Lisbon for several days later in the month and was thinking that I'd like to travel out to one of the beaches one day. Any suggestions on somewhere nice to go and the best way to get there by public transport. Also any random interesting ideas of things to see or do in Lisbon itself would be cool! Thanks.
