Georgia Accomodation in Ureki
Posted: Thu July 24, 2008 11:22 AM UTC
Hi,
can anyone help me with info about Ureki B&B or geashouses? How can I find cheap but safe place for family stay in Ureki for August?
I found some info about hotels ALBATROS, ELITA, OLD HOUSE or ORIGINAL? How is the servise there? Is it worth to stay in a hotel or it's better to find kind of B&B?

May be you know a family that can host a group of 4 people for 10 days?

Thanks
Vanhe

Georgia 3 months accomodation in Borjomi
Posted: Wed June 4, 2008 04:46 AM UTC
Hello,

i'm looking for an accomodation/homestay in Borjomi. It is for three months (end of August till half November). We do not need luxury and can make breakfast ourselfs. We're looking for something safe and cheap.
WE are two girls and come to Georgia for school, because of that it is nice to have a desk in the room and if possible internet.

Do you know a homestay or accomodation please tell us (also if it doesn't fit our requierments properly)

greetings, Michele

Georgia Visa for Georgia for EU citizent
Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 11:10 PM UTC
I read that EU citizents do not need a visa to enter Georgia

I plan on going from Turkey to Georgia
Then visiting Armenia and come back
And then visiting Azerbaijan and return
Finally flying out from Tbilisi

Do I need a visa or can I purchase one at the border or should I go to the embassy?

I know this question has been asked before, but it seems that the rules change daily in these countries.

Kind regards
Anna

Georgia day trips/hiking tour organizers
Posted: Wed May 7, 2008 09:10 PM UTC
I'm thinking about going for 2 weeks this summer to Georgia and Armenia as a solo traveller. Armenia seems fairly easy for making day trips from Yerevan to several interesting old monastery and various stone buildings. In Georgia I'd like to get to indulge more in the nature and do more traveling around the country. As a solo traveller it'd be convenient for me to join some organized tour. Hiking the mountains or something like that would be nice. But I can't find much tourist information on tours that are for just one or a couple of days rather than 1-2 weeks, and the new lonely planet edition isn't due until late may. I figure there must be some tour organizers for shorter trips. Anyone got any tips?

Hello,

Can someone recommend a realiable rental car agency with afforable prices ? I've looked around the internet but the only thing I have come up so far is an outrageous 80 Euros per day plus insurance for the smallest car category with one of the well-known international companies.

Hi everybody,

I'm contemplating to visit Abkhazia this autumn and I'm wondering if I'd need some kind of invitation and/or visa. I know I'll need a multiple entry visa for Russia to get back in, but what about Abkhazia?

Thanks in advance!

Georgia How to get to Vardzia and Uplistsikhe Akhaltsikhe
Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 11:10 PM UTC
Hi
I'd like to find out what's the best(quicker/cheaper etc.) way to get to Vardzia and Uplistsikhe.
I'm going to get there is such way:
1. Uplistsikhe-> go to Gori and take a taxi
2. Vardzia -> go to Akhaltsikhe and take a taxi too. Is it possible for go there and back in a day? Is better to go to Vardzia from Borjomi instead of Akaltsikhe?
What do you think about point1 and 2, is the best way to get there?
Do you know where I can stay(hostels, guesthouse) in Gori&Akhaltsikhe?

Many thanks

Lagodekhi Lagodekhi & Nature Preserve - Worth visiting?
Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 09:57 PM UTC
I'll be travelling through Lagodekhi in May. Should I make the time to spend a night or two near the Nature Preserve? Is it easily accessed by tourists? There is so little information available about it on the Internet, I'm a little worried that it will turn out to be hard to get to and that very little of the beautiful parts will be accessible by foot.

Georgia visiting Tbilisi and surrounding areas mid-March
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 02:01 PM UTC
Hi there,
I plan to visit Tbilisi third week in March.
Does anyone know if the Lotus is a good place to eat for vegetarians? I'm looking forward to trying lobio, badrijani, and ajapsandali.
Does the Kino Sakhli still have English films on Wednesday evenings?
I'm planning to visit Mtskhta and Uplistsikhe, and the Stalin Museum in Gori.
I am wondering if it's still too early in the year for day hikes in Borjomi? Does anyone know?
Is there still snow in Kazbegi? I'm not looking to ski.
I've got the Lonely Planet and Mark Elliot travel guides.
Any suggestions for this time of the year for this one week trip?
Cheers!

T'bilisi Turkish Bus lines going from Tbilisi or Batumi to Kars or Erzurum
Posted: Thu October 18, 2007 03:58 PM UTC
Hello, I am travelling with my family and trying to find
Turkish buses that go from Tbilisi to Kars or Erzurum (to take the train to Ankara from there).
Has any one tried it and has suggestion for which bus lines and/or their contacts? I read they run from Ortachala bus station. And heard about MehmoodOglu and Ahara Turkish lines. However, could not call either of them.
Thanks

Hello1 I am planning to go to Georgia this winter, somewhere high and nice... We are a family of 4 with 2 kids ( one is 2y.o.). Do you recomend any place at this time of a season? I would like it to not be remote from the ski resort, good rooms, hot water etc. If you have a suggestion , please share your opinion with me. Thank you !

I forgot to ask, what reastaurant in Tbilisi would you recomend for traditional dinner, dinner without hurry, just enjoying local food and maybe some national dance or songs?
I also have a dream to buy some jewelry from Georgia. Is there some special place where I should go for sure? It can be enamel and silver, but made in Georgia.
Thank you very much...
