Is there a place in Batumi that changes $100 Canadian dollar bill for Georgian gel? I am willing to accept 145gel for $100CAD. If you know a place specifically please let me know. At the Turkey//Iran border, I found it hard to change CAD (nobody wanted it). If they did, they wanted to rip me off by as much as 20%. In Iranian state banks, they refused to buy US, or Canadian dollar at all.
I am looking for a 2nd hand clothing store in Tblisi? Is there such a thing? In North America, and Europe it's kind of popular, with chain stores like Value Village, and they go by the name of Thrift shops, or 2nd hand shops. Usually, a pair of good quality, laundered pants sells for about 2 or 3 euros. Nicer shirts for 4 or 5 euros. Usually, there is nothing over 20 euros in the store.
Should have previewed my recent requestion:
Can anoyone confirm the information in TC Overseas timetable that the trains are actually running between Baki and Tblisi?
Is Tblisi a good place to buy an external hardrive?
I need to buy a good quality, durable, affordable external hardrive for my laptop. My laptop hardrive is full, and I need a place to upload a few thousand 10megapixal photos? A hardrive range of at least 50GB is required. DVD's and flashcards are not an option due to limited space, and data corruption.
My question is where in Tblisi should I go to buy this piece of equipment, also how much does it cost in Georgia, and is Georgia a good place to buy such a device? Please note, my next destinations are Latvia, and Estonia (in that order). If you know for a fact that one of the Baltics are better (in terms of price vs. quality) for electronics shopping, please let me know, and I'll wait a few weeks longer. Otherwise please let me know where in the capital to do my shopping.
How to get from Trabzon, or Rize, Turkey to Kobuleti, Georgia
I need to get from Trabzon, or Rize, Turkey to Kobuleti, Georgia (in the easiest way) possible? I've heard there are long distance buses all the way to Tblisi, this is one option but the delay at the border (since it's a bus) could last a long time, also I'm not sure if the Trabzon-Tblisi bus stops in Kobuleti.
Kobuleti is a smaller town on the Black sea coast in Southwestern Georgia (in Ajaria region), just north of Batumi.
I know the bus must stop in Batumi, but the question remains how to get to Kobuleti?
Another option might be to get a shared ride just to the border, cross on foot, and catch another shared ride to Batumi, this way might avoid any border delays.
Let me know if you have done this crossing, and how you did it. Thanks
I am visiting Georgia for the 1st time in late June/early July, looking to explore mountains, nature, and scenic landscape photography, hoping to discover the most beautiful vistas? Also looking for authentic Georgian specialty foods, especially wine, and cheeses.
Please look at my list below, and let me know what you think, or if you can add to it, I will be happy?

I heard that there is a ferry connection from Ukraine Kerch to Poti (or Batumi). Is it true? Or - where to seek information?
Do you know about ferries from Ukraine to Georgia, preferably from Kerch? I do not have 3 days to spend in Ferry from Odessa. I believe there are ferries from Ukraine to Georgia on a shorter distance.
Thanks for your help and see you in Georgia next month!

I am new to VT. a friend introduced me to it. I am planning on viisting in June. Is there a reccomendation on a good georgia hotel in tbilisi that would be in a good area for walking tour of sights etc.... I prefer not to stay at a chain hotel. Is air conditioning in most hotels?
I am a photographer from Singapore. I am interested in finding out the locations of the refugee camps in Tbilisi for the displaced people from South Ossetia. I'm also curious if it is possible to get access to these refugee camps as well as taking photographs there. Could someone shed some light on me? =)
