Al Manamah moving to Bahrain: outbound calls
Posted: Sat August 8, 2009 08:40 PM UTC
Dear all,
I am Italian, and in September I will be relocating to Manama, working there on a permanent basis; my family will remain in Italy.
Any of you could tip me off on the cheapest way to make outbound calls to Italy ? what about calls via a Bahraini mobile operator to Italy ? Is skype working there, mobile to mobile, or PC to PC ?
Thank you for your kind replies, any suggestions very welcome

Manama Sightseeing in Manama, Bahrain
Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 12:51 PM UTC
I'll be going for my home leave vacation this June with my family.
My flight from Saudi will stop over Bahrain for more than 8 hours.
is it possible for us to go out of the terminal and go for sightseeing in Manamah? Is Manama an open city like Hong Kong?

Hope to hear some tips on this matter.

Thanks in Advance.

Manama which are the Fishing spots
Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 08:21 AM UTC
Hello Friends

I am an expat in Bahrain with interest in fishing (angling).
Could anyone tell me which are the best fishing spots available in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
I was told that Sitra Bridge is the most popular spot. But with the construction going on, its quite dusty a spot and the hustle bustle around seem to have driven the fish away.

If there are any fellow anglers reading this forum, could you also tel me which are the best bait options for fishing in Bahrain.

Manama How can I go to Manama with my partner? - NEED TO KNOW!!!!
Posted: Thu October 11, 2007 07:57 PM UTC
Hi,
I hope somebody can inform me about the procedures on this issue. My boyfriend will go to Manama/ Bahrain in January 2008 and work there as a diplomat for 2 years. I would like to join him. The thing is, we are a couple, but not married. He is American and I'm German. Please let me know, what we can do in order to be able to live there together for the next 2 years. And how do I get a work permit? All his visa and work permit issues are already taken care of through the embassy. But the actual problem is, that nobody here officially knows that we are a couple and until he leaves nobody is supposed to know that either. I guess I'll have to wait until my boyfriend gets there and once he settles down he can arrange for me to follow him??? Will it be very difficult for him to get me there? Can I try it on my own maybe?
Any advises or information on this is really appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.

I am starting a new position this year in Bahrain. I was told that a medical test will be done in order to recieve work visa. I am just curious as to what the test entails and what they are testing for. I was also told it makes a difference also were you come from, is this true and if so what if you are western?

Manama Advice on employment for 24 yr old female
Posted: Sat September 10, 2005 12:52 PM UTC
Hi there,

My partner and I have recently relocated to Bahrain with his job, and I'm wondering if anyone us able to provide any information on job seeking in Bahrain?

I've been in the recruitment sector in Edinburgh, but am open to pretty much anything here. Recruitment agencies here aren't very useful so far, and neither are the recruitment websites provided by Google.

Also, I would like to learn driving here, but there are actually no driving schools listing in the yeallow pages!!

Finally, are there any like-minded lonely expats/expats' partners out there who are looking for someone to reminisce about the grey, wet weather of the uk??
It's quite a culture shock moving here, plus I miss my friends-if you feel the same, email me!!!

Manama How is Intercol as a company in Bahrain
Posted: Wed April 13, 2005 04:55 PM UTC
Hi,

I would like to how the company Intercol(www.intercol.com) is doing in Bahrain. I am negotiating a job in this company in their IT division, namely IT Security consultancy.

Can somebody tell me how this company is doing and is it a recognized name in Bahrain, specially in IT?

Also, how good a pay master are the IT companies in Bahrain. Basically how much salary and benifits can a guy with 5 years of hardcore IT experince can expect there. Is it worth changing from a reputed company in India and doing very well here to Intercol?

Thanks in anticipation
