Bahrain Is my passport valid for visa ?
Posted: Fri November 2, 2007 06:35 AM UTC
I have a indian passport valid till 2011. My doubt is that its a hand written passport (name and address, validity hand written in the passport by the officers). As it was made in 2001 it was not a computer printed. I want to know will there be any problem from the ministry in issuing my visa cos its a valid hand written passport and not a printed one.

Looking forward for replies from all.

Thanks.

Bahrain Renting a car in BH
Posted: Sun October 28, 2007 07:52 AM UTC
Hi,

Following the desastrous comments about the taxi in BH, do you think it is worth renting a car for a few days and if yes do you have any reliable agency to recommend except the expensive ones like hertz, avis, ...

Tx for your feedback.

Jazirat Hawar Hawar Island Hoteling
Posted: Sun October 14, 2007 12:51 AM UTC
Is there any other cheap hotel in hawar? (other then the "hawar resort hotel")

I have heard that there are beach huts available with A/C, kitchen, washroom, bedroom etc. with extremely cheap prices.
Is that true?
Any experience?

Bahrain driving license visa requirement
Posted: Thu October 11, 2007 09:59 PM UTC
Hi all, Im thinking of visiting Bahrain for a holiday sometime soon - just wondering on what the requirements for getting driving lessons and a licence are - do you need residency or can you get one on a tourist visa? I don't hold any licenses at the moment. Any help would be appreciated, I'm sure you'll be a lot more clearer than the Traffic Directorate site :)

Manama How can I go to Manama with my partner? - NEED TO KNOW!!!!
Posted: Thu October 11, 2007 06:57 PM UTC
Hi,
I hope somebody can inform me about the procedures on this issue. My boyfriend will go to Manama/ Bahrain in January 2008 and work there as a diplomat for 2 years. I would like to join him. The thing is, we are a couple, but not married. He is American and I'm German. Please let me know, what we can do in order to be able to live there together for the next 2 years. And how do I get a work permit? All his visa and work permit issues are already taken care of through the embassy. But the actual problem is, that nobody here officially knows that we are a couple and until he leaves nobody is supposed to know that either. I guess I'll have to wait until my boyfriend gets there and once he settles down he can arrange for me to follow him??? Will it be very difficult for him to get me there? Can I try it on my own maybe?
Any advises or information on this is really appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.

Bahrain Hiring Process
Posted: Tue October 2, 2007 05:55 PM UTC
Hi,

Just a short query on what is the usual hiring process in Bahrain.

I´m a Spanish national and have been (verbally...) offered a post with one of the Ministries. Upon requesting some sort of written agreement, a few days after I was contacted by one of the Ministry staff to submit a whole lot of documentation - passport copies, college diplomas, photos, recommendation letters and so on. And apparently, the Ministry has sent a medical and application form by post. During this whole process, a formal written agreement - job offer has yet to be made.

3 Questions:

1. Is this hiring process normal? Is the formal job offer the LAST step in the whole process? What is a typical hiring process in Bahrain?

2. At what stage, can I SAFELY resign from my current job. What documentation should I have in my power?

3. Is a medical exam required in the country of origin (Spain being my case..)? I thought that medical exams were carried out in Bahrain.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Bahrain Need a Straight Answer
Posted: Tue September 25, 2007 11:48 PM UTC
My partner and I look like we will be moving from Australia to Bahrain for approx. six months in Jan 08, for his work. We will also be travelling to Dubai, Saudi & Jordon, but based in Bahrain. There is only one real issue that I cannot sort the truth from;
Q:I have long curly blonde hair & blue eyes and I have been told I may need my
own bodyguard or a strong male figure to go out side with because I am a high
risk of being kidnapped. I am a confident, independent person and this is unnerving even for me. I have read some books and they have stated that in Bahrain I may get a few followers, but then some website have said Western Women (in particular blonde/blue eyes) would be safer with a bodyguard of some sort. Can anyone confirm & give me a straight answer?

Bahrain need help
Posted: Thu August 30, 2007 10:54 AM UTC
I recently met a very pretty Bahraini girl and would like to meet with her. The problem is that she is from a very conservative family and she can hardly go alone outside the house. I am seeking advices from expatriates living in Bahrain as to where can I find a secure place such as hotel or apartment to be with her without getting her into troubles. Any hint you can give is greatly appreciated. Is it true that hotels in the Middle East only allow married couple to be in same room?
How about renting apartment for a day or two is it possible and safe.

I am from France

I need help guys, I guess am falling for her
