Liverpool Is there any free parking in Liverpool City Centre on a Sunday?!
Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 12:46 PM UTC
Hi
I am thinking of taking my family to visit Liverpool, THE City of Culture, this SUNDAY (20/07/08) - I was wondering where the best place to park will be, I am sure most locals would know - as I am of limited means, FREE parking would be my preference!

Would be grateful if someone could please help.

Thanks

p/s: Would all the city centre shops and attractions be open on the Sunday?

Liverpool Safe to park bike?? / Wallasey ferry
Posted: Tue April 22, 2008 07:54 PM UTC
Hi,

I'm planning on visiting Liverpool on my way up to Scotland this weekend. I am travelling by motorbike. Is it safe to park up overnight?? It's only a 125 but no elaborate security on it. I'll be in New Brighton, Wallasey.

One more question. Is there a ferry from Wallasey to Liverpool? If so where does this go from?

Thanks,

Liverpool Holiday apartments (self-catering apartments) in Liverpool
Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 03:46 PM UTC
I am planning to spend a week in Liverpool in May. I've been told that renting a holiday apartment would be cheaper and more convenient (mostly because of the possibility to cook and do the laundry yourself) and I have been searching around but the holiday apartments I have found so far are all much more expensive then hotels. Am I searching in the wrong places or was my friend wrong when she said they would be cheaper? I am looking for a holiday apartment that costs no more then £280 per week (preferably even less), would it be possible to find one in that price range?

Liverpool Liverpool to the US
Posted: Mon March 17, 2008 03:14 PM UTC
I'm returning to the US after a year abroad and thought that taking a freighter or boat of some sort would be a great way to get back. I'll be in Liverpool at the end of May and was wondering if anyone knew how to book passage on a ship. I don't need to do a cruise or anything, just pretty straight-forward travel back. I live in Duluth MN, right at port so ideally that's where I would like to make it to, but anywhere on American (or Canadian) soil will do. I'm having a hard time finding a website that will tell me what I need to know (how to book, costs, etc.) for a one-way trip back home. Anyone have ideas? Thanks in advance!

Liverpool Rented accomodation over the summer
Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 09:41 PM UTC
Hey Vters,
Heading to Liverpool with 3 friends for about 2 months this summer. As per always, it's pretty tough to knows what kind of area we should be thinking about living in when none of us are familiar with city, so was just wondering if anyone could just give us a little guideline about suitable areas to search for accomodation in.

-We're students, so cheapness is important :)
-At the same time, not willing to compromise on safety, so would like to find a safe area
-a place within walking distance of town/in town would be ideal, is this achievable on a budget? Alternatively, somewhere within cycling distance and on good public transport route.

Think University accommodation might fit the bill, what say ye? All suggestions of where/where not to look are welcomed

appreciate any input you have,
thanks!

Liverpool girlie weekend
Posted: Mon February 25, 2008 04:03 PM UTC
Myself and two other girls from Belfast are heading to liverpool this weekend. Planning to go out for dinner on friday and saturday and head out afterwards. All young professionals (27, 26, 24) and looking for the names of some nice bars/ clubs. not fans of dance music or R&B. All enjoy a bit of cheesy music and craic (in the irish sense!) Anyone recommend a few places and any nice restaurants? We are staying in the city centre.

Liverpool Summer in Liverpool
Posted: Fri January 18, 2008 10:59 AM UTC
Myself and a couple of friends are thinking of working for the summer in Britain. There're a few cities we are considering going to and to help us narrow our (very long) list I was just wondering if anyone would like to offer some input as to whether or not Liverpool would be a good choice for the summer.
We'd be looking for somewhere where
- Job availibility won't be a problem
- A decent nightlife for 20 year olds
- Cheap cost of living, or at least, not expensive
- There's a nice amount of touristy things to do.

Edinburgh, for example, is exactly the kind of place I'm looking for, but I've already visited it, so would like to try somewhere new

Really, REALLY appreciate feedback!

Liverpool Route advice Mersey Tunnel
Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 02:01 PM UTC
Hi, I will be travelling from Holyhead to Liverpool (Albert Dock area) on Saturday and trying to work out the best route. Which is the best road to get to the Mersey Tunnel? AA route finder is telling me to use the A41 but I take that with a pinch of salt. Would the M53 be better?

While I'm here how bad is the traffic likely to be on Saturday afternoon around the Albert Dock? The hotel I'm staying in (Premier Travel Inn) does not have it's own car park, guests have to use the one across the road apparently and I'm a bit worried I'm not going to get a space.

Liverpool London to Liverpool in a day
Posted: Thu November 1, 2007 05:10 AM UTC
We will be in England for 5 days and want to travel from London to Liverpool for the day. Thinking this.... it will be about a 2 1/2 hour train ride thru the English countryside (check this off the list of things we wanted to do) arrive in Liverpool mid morning, do the Beatles Museum and then catch the Magical Mystery Tour in the afternoon. We understand the Museum is near the River, so we get to see the Mersey as well.... We are traveling in Jan, so the days are short. I figure this is full day, but does look doable. What do you think?

Is there a better day to do this? we will be there Thurs - Mon, and were planning this trip for Friday or Saturday.

also, to what station in Liverpool should we buy our tickets to?

Liverpool limited time in liverpool?
Posted: Fri September 21, 2007 03:27 PM UTC
Hi to All!
1- What's the best way to come to Liverpool from Manchester Airport considering me and my wife are travelling with our 4 years old daughter?
2- I definitely will visit Beatles Museum. But, besides the museum, are there any tours showing where Beatle actually lived, or performed etc.?
3- After staying for one night in Liverpool, we will see Nottingham and Edinburgh and then we will fly back home from Manchester. Do you think it would matter which one we should see first?(Nottingham or Edinburgh). Our flight back to home is on 13.30. Do you think we could arrange it like we directly come to the airport by train (be there let's say at 11.30)from either Edinburgh or Nottingham?
4- Best place to buy souvenirs of Beatles and LFC ?

Thanx in advance

My sister and I are coming to Liverpool with our other halfs to visit the Transatlantic Slavery Museum and we fancy staying at an apartment. Can anyone recommend anywhere? We will be travelling by car so a car space or being near a car park would be great as we want to explore the local area.

Gay hotspots preferred, but not necessarily so.

'off the beaten track'.
