My son will be studying in Liverpool for 16 months (post grad degree). Can anyone recommend a safe, central city location to rent a flat? He will need to walk to the Everton Campus of Hope Liverpool University on Shaw Street just north of the hospital and north of the University of Liverpool.
He is happy to walk the distance in order to live close to the heart of Liverpool. Is there any locations he should avoid?
I will be in Liverpool at the end of August. I was thinking of visiting Dublin. Are there ferries from Liverpool to Dublin and how expensive are they for one person no car? How long would the trip take? I'd probably only have time for a one day city tour. Thanks in advance.
The show will take place at the "Liverpool Echo Arena". Could someone recommend some B&Bs which are within walking distance from this Arena. I don't have to worry much about transport after the show.
so, easyjet is not so cheap!! any other way to get to berlin that you know about? i live in the the us, so am not familiar with ferry system, would it be any less expensive to take the ferry and train? fares for dates i need on easyjet are about 70 quid each way! thanks for any help! susan
We will be visiting Liverpool soon (4 females)
what do you recommend the taxi tour or the bus tour?
I understand there's music on the bus and probably not
during the taxi trip, bus I have read some good comments on tripadvisor
about the taxi tour.
Thanks for any comments.
Betty
I am flying into Liverpool airport with Ryanair .
How far is this airport from the city all it says on ticket is Liverpool LPL.
How much by taxi.
I fly out the next day at 6 in the morning so a hotel close to this airport would help.
Hi everyone, I will be traveling to Liverpool on the 21 May. I will be in the city for 7 days. This is my 1st time in England.
I would like to know where can I get cheap accommodation (less than 50 pound each night) as most of the time I will not be in the room; will be out walking in the streets and visiting places.
Hope anyone can give me good advice.
Thanks in advance.

Planing on spending my birthday in Liverpool with my friend & dressing as Naughty Nurses. Will we get in most bars & clubs?

Travelling up to Liverpool tomorrow, staying in the Express by Holiday Inn in the Albert Docks . we will be arriving from Bucks approx 6.00. can anyone recommend anywhere local to eat that wont be booked up on a Sat night before Christmas?
we are getting the 10.00 am ferry to Belfast on Sun am.
I would love to have some ideas of somewhere not too far away from the hotel as my son tends to get a bit stressed if things are not planned very well(he suffers from an illness)
Also for future stays(as go to Belfast quite often)and usualy need to stay overnight in Liverpool.
It's VT staff member, Courtney and I'm trying to find interview subjects for a journalist who's working on a story about the Taste of Ireland cruise, which was due to depart yesterday from Liverpool. Apparently, it was cancelled due to bad weather, and since refunds were not offered, most of the passengers stayed onboard and will still be receiving cruise services. She wanted to get some reaction from people who had paid, so if you happen to be one of those people, please let me know and I will put you in touch with her.
We will be staying for either 1 or 2 nights in Liverpool, in late October.I would appreciate if you could help me with the following questions.
-Any recommendations for a hotel offering something special from Beatles?
-Best tour to see the most from Beatles? (i already attended Magical Mystery tour and want more)
-Besides the Museum and the Cavern, are there any stores selling souvenirs of the Beatles?
-Best way to go from Liverpool to Stansted Airport?
-I believe it is almost impossible to attend a game of Everton or Liverpool but at least we would like to take a tour at Anfield, what am i supposed to do for that?
I will spend some time in Liverpool, and don't want to be a 'tourist'. I have already searched the usual and touristy things to check out in the city, but would like to know about little hidden treasures, or Simply: what you guys- locals- would suggest to do, as something you think I should do. I know interests vary, but whatever you suggest, and I will pick what grabs my attention.
and what you reccommend for 'best' place to have a drink, or lunch/dinner, etc..
Also: for like 4 or 5 days in the city, what is the best deal for trasnport. and where to get this pass or tickets? are they for buses? what else is used there for transportation?
Thank you!
VT
p.s: we are recently married and we want to spend some nice (and romantic) time and unwind!
Hello locals! Coming over from Isle of Man for a day trip with my son and need to fly around as cheaply and efficiently as possible! Means bus and train. What I want to know is, "is there such a thing as an all zone day ticket for bus and train?" If so, could I buy one in advance so we can hop on the bus as soon as we get off the boat. Where do I write to for those and how much (roughly) would they be? I need to go to Birkenhead first and then come back to Liverpool to do museums and shops and then somewhere nice for tea (where please?!) My son is up for trying out some Indian or Greek and then we need to get back to the boat for 6pm so somewhere that opens early enough.
Hi
I am thinking of taking my family to visit Liverpool, THE City of Culture, this SUNDAY (20/07/08) - I was wondering where the best place to park will be, I am sure most locals would know - as I am of limited means, FREE parking would be my preference!
Would be grateful if someone could please help.
Thanks
Kiamsiapl
p/s: Would all the city centre shops and attractions be open on the Sunday?
I would apprecciate if you can give me some details about UK, Liverpool trip from Belgrade, Serbia. I would be very happy if you could suggest me which type of transport should I use. What's the cheapest etc. Thanks.:)
hi
please guide me on how to travel from maidenhead to liverpool -----train or bus---which is cheaper---ticket fare ??---can we book on spot or need to book in advance
I'm planning on visiting Liverpool on my way up to Scotland this weekend. I am travelling by motorbike. Is it safe to park up overnight?? It's only a 125 but no elaborate security on it. I'll be in New Brighton, Wallasey.
One more question. Is there a ferry from Wallasey to Liverpool? If so where does this go from?
I am planning to spend a week in Liverpool in May. I've been told that renting a holiday apartment would be cheaper and more convenient (mostly because of the possibility to cook and do the laundry yourself) and I have been searching around but the holiday apartments I have found so far are all much more expensive then hotels. Am I searching in the wrong places or was my friend wrong when she said they would be cheaper? I am looking for a holiday apartment that costs no more then £280 per week (preferably even less), would it be possible to find one in that price range?
I'm returning to the US after a year abroad and thought that taking a freighter or boat of some sort would be a great way to get back. I'll be in Liverpool at the end of May and was wondering if anyone knew how to book passage on a ship. I don't need to do a cruise or anything, just pretty straight-forward travel back. I live in Duluth MN, right at port so ideally that's where I would like to make it to, but anywhere on American (or Canadian) soil will do. I'm having a hard time finding a website that will tell me what I need to know (how to book, costs, etc.) for a one-way trip back home. Anyone have ideas? Thanks in advance!
we are two chinese girls studying in Paris. we'll come over to Liverpool this Sat (8th march) to watch the match LFC VS NEW, but we can't find any accommodations on any website on the above date. I'm afraid we have to sleep on the street. I wanna try those hostels or guesthouse that don't have a website. Would be grateful if anyone know any of them and their contact no.~ Thanksssssssssss!!!!
Hey Vters,
Heading to Liverpool with 3 friends for about 2 months this summer. As per always, it's pretty tough to knows what kind of area we should be thinking about living in when none of us are familiar with city, so was just wondering if anyone could just give us a little guideline about suitable areas to search for accomodation in.
-We're students, so cheapness is important :)
-At the same time, not willing to compromise on safety, so would like to find a safe area
-a place within walking distance of town/in town would be ideal, is this achievable on a budget? Alternatively, somewhere within cycling distance and on good public transport route.
Think University accommodation might fit the bill, what say ye? All suggestions of where/where not to look are welcomed
girlie weekend Posted: Mon February 25, 2008 05:03 PM UTC
Myself and two other girls from Belfast are heading to liverpool this weekend. Planning to go out for dinner on friday and saturday and head out afterwards. All young professionals (27, 26, 24) and looking for the names of some nice bars/ clubs. not fans of dance music or R&B. All enjoy a bit of cheesy music and craic (in the irish sense!) Anyone recommend a few places and any nice restaurants? We are staying in the city centre.
