Alicante gran alacant
Posted: Wed May 27, 2009 07:26 AM UTC
Hi. It would be so great to hear anyones experiences of gran alacant. It is about 15 mins drive south of the airport. Can you walk to the beach? Does it have some shops? Is it in the flight path? Does it have some culture? We have a j month year old and thinking of going there in October. Thank you so much for any comments. Rob.

Alicante 1 week enough
Posted: Sat May 2, 2009 07:14 AM UTC
Hi I'll be in spain this june for three weeks and i plan on studying in salamanca for two of those weeks. for my third week, i was interested in studying in alicante, and i was wondering if it would be worth coming to there only for one week. my main reason behind coming to alicante would be that the hogueras festival would be taking place then. and the fact that i may not return to spain for who knows how long makes me want to make the most of it and experience all that i can. but again im not sure if i should just stay put in salamanca or take the 3rd week in alicante?

Alicante Any advice welcome,
Posted: Fri January 23, 2009 12:38 AM UTC
Hi Alicante folks,
We've been reading the forum for just under a year now as we were planning to relocate to the area last summer but with the world economy self destructing an all (wry grin), our plans have had to be ammended somewhat.

Anyhoo, just like to say we've found the site really enjoyable and the members pages both entertaining and informative in equal measure, hope you dont mind but my 1st post is a bit of a hello and a Q

1st- is etiquette, is it ok to email members personally or should Qs be posted on the forum untill people email us

2nd- ive noticed theres a few BIKERS on the site, has anyone rode down from Bilboa on a Westerly route in FEB'if so any advice on Weather.accom'b&bs,camping, petrol(tank 115mile range)and any other issues to consider poss'route- Bilboa>Burgos>Valladoid>Salamanca>Caceres>Wilderness>Sevilla>Coast

thanks in advance
steve
ps are there any meet ups around end of Feb start Mar

Alicante Alicante to Barcelona
Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 11:44 AM UTC
OK I know its a bit late but we are flying into Alicante this Saturday 9th and flying out of Barcelona on the 17th spending one night in Barcelona on the 16th. There are 7 of us so I had planned to hire a 7/9 seater car and use it for the holiday and then drive to Barcelona. Lo and behold the hire companies that I had provisionally booked with ALL came back with no availability for a 7/9 seater !! SO.... other than have the pain of hiring two cars can anyone either suggest a hire company or another cheap way of getting to barcelona. When I did a quick check it looked like £483 for the train and £500 for a plane !!

Cheers

We like the look of Altea and Albir and want to be able to walk to some restaurants / shops from the apartment. Are there many places to stay in Altea that are within walking distance of ammenities?

Alicante Help with our holiday address
Posted: Thu July 31, 2008 09:19 PM UTC
Hi,
We are coming over soon and our holiday address is Urbanisation Monte Pedreguer, Pedreguer, Alicante. My Sat nav is up to date for Spain, however it just does not recognise this address. Can anyone suggest what I can try in my Sat Nav that will get us close to this area. Whilst here can anyone recommend a good market. We arrive on a Sat night and leave the following Fri.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alicante First time in Alicante!!!
Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 02:09 PM UTC
Hi all,

I'm heading to Alicante next week with a bunch of friends and it's my first time in Spain. Just wondering if anyone had any pointers? Is there any food I should definitely try? Or beaches, clubs, historical sites that are a must?
I'm very excited about this trip but totally clueless, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million,

Alicante Studying Abroad
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 01:11 AM UTC
I'm studying abroad in Spain this fall but am having a hard time between Alicante and Barcelona. At first I was set on going to Alicante, but that's hard to justify when Barcelona would make a better home base for trips into Europe. What else should I be looking at in making my decision? What does Alicante have that Barcelona doesn't?

Alicante Comfortable mid-priced hostal needed pronto!
Posted: Thu February 7, 2008 06:04 PM UTC
Help!! Does anyone know of a hostal that's centrally located in the city for this weekend (9/10/11 of Feb)? The only one I've seen with recommendations is booked up and because my elderly mum is with me it can't be too basic. I would prefer not to pay more than 35 euros a night.
Many thanks
