Almería Almeria- San Jose in May
Posted: Tue March 30, 2004 07:20 AM UTC
Hi - new to this site but very impressed with what I have read by way of helpful responses. Anyway, 4 of us have a place booked in San Jose near Nijar in May. I suppose it's the usual questions of what is there in the area, within 1.5 hours drive. Good places to eat/drink/rest.

We have a car booked from the airport. How straight forward is the drive to San Jose (being a Brit means having to acclimatise to driving on the 'wrong side')? I've recently returned from a few days in Madrid and had a taxi from the airport to the hotel - I couldn't make head or tail of the way the road markings work, so am already a little anxious about finding my way around!

Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Skotch

Almería Planning trip to Almeria
Posted: Wed March 3, 2004 10:35 PM UTC
Two friends of mine and I are planning on going to
Almeria and the area around it from Madrid in the beginning of April. We know that we can take a train from Madrid to Almeria, but after that we're not really sure how to do this. We're basically just looking to find some nice beaches and relax a little bit. Any info would be helpful. cheap places to stay, nice beaches. Most importantly, how does the transportation work, and lastly, our next stop is Barcelona. How can we get from the Almeria coast to Barcelona. Thanks a bunch

Almería Winter in Almeria!
Posted: Sat February 21, 2004 12:51 PM UTC
My wife and I are planning to escape the worst of England's winter in 2005.
One of the places I am considering is the area to the east of Almeria.
I would like to spend January and February 2005 in El Cabo de Gata or the surrounding area. Does anyone know of any small, one bedroom apartments for rent in this area, for this period?

Almería public transport from London to Spain?
Posted: Mon November 17, 2003 10:19 AM UTC
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a bus or train from England to Spain?
We own an apartment in Mojacar & some friends of ours would love to go & stay there, but they will not fly (they tried it once & were terrified!). They have been trying to find alternative modes of transport but don’t seem to be getting anywhere so I am trying to find out for them!
They considered driving but it just seem s too far (they live in Norfolk .U.K) but they wouldn’t mind driving from say Alicante if they could get there other than flying!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Linda.

Almería Cheap accommodation Cabo de Gata - Is there any hope?
Posted: Sun November 16, 2003 06:21 PM UTC
I'm hoping to return to Cabo de Gata late march 2004 and need cheap but pleasant accommodation. I know there's the newish hostel but i really want cheaper than this if possible or possibly to rent a place for 3 nights. (There are two of us needing accommodation). Does anone know of any great travel secrets to solve this problem? Any locals who have ideas?

All responses appreciated and i recommend anyone travelling to almeria province go and see the beaches @ Cabo de Gata there are truly beautiful and hardly anyone around!

thanks

Almería Almeria in winter?
Posted: Thu November 13, 2003 03:02 PM UTC
What is there to do. I'm staying in Mojacar over Christmas and New Year and I'm a bit worried that there will be nothing to do at that time of the year. Any advice/suggestions?

Almería Visiting Almeria
Posted: Mon October 27, 2003 12:05 PM UTC
Hola todos,

I am visiting Almeria in late January 2004 with some friends (10 of us so far) and we are looking for some accommodation which is not too expensive but typical of the area, probably privately owned rather than a hotel chain.

Addtionally I would appreciate thoughts on places to visit in the immediate area (we will have to rely upon local transport) and many of us like to Dance (Salsa especially) so any tips on where to go would be doubly appreciated for this too.

Gracias
