Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 06:37 PM UTC
Hi, we are staying at the Blue Bay Hotel in Netanya and I was wondering how close is the nearest place to eat? I noticed that there is a shopping mall on Hertzel Street and Liberty Square, how close is that to the Hotel?

Thank you

Netanya Transportation advice from Blue Bay hotel Netanya to Old Jaffa in Tel Aviv
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 04:35 AM UTC
Greetings,
We will be arriving at the airport and going straight to Blue Bay hotel Netanya in mid May to join a group. As we will arrive in early morning, we still have half a day before the group arrives in the evening.

We would like to make a half day trip to Old Jaffa and would need advice on the following:
1) What is the easiest and cheapest way of travelling from Blue Bay Hotel Netanya to Old Jaffa? What is the travelling time and the cost?

2) Is there a place to change shekels near Blue Bay hotel Netanya?

3) Are there any places within short walking distance from Blue Bay hotel Netanya that we can visit?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Central District Number of days on Mediterranean Coast
Posted: Fri February 22, 2008 03:00 AM UTC
Please take a look at our general interests & ideas of what we’d like to see and do on the Mediterranean Coast - I would very much appreciate an educated estimate of how many days to plan for on our upcoming trip in mid-May!

Rehovot – Weizmann Institute of Science – walking tour

Caesarea National Park, Jewish Quarter & Roman Aqueduct

Wine Country & Mt. Carmel
Zichron Ya’akov , Mukhraka & Carmelite Monastery, Druze villages of Isfiya, Daliyat el Carmel. Hurfeish & museum of Druze culture, Gush Halav (Christian Maronite community), Ein Hod artist’s village, Nahal Me’arot Nature Reserve & Carmel Caves , a winery or two

Akko (Acre)- also walk around at night

Your insights are appreciated!

Anybody visited Har Karkom? Must you hire a guide? How much does the guide cost? Or can I drive there in a car? How long should I allow to see the site?

Netanya Renting a room or apartment
Posted: Wed May 16, 2007 09:55 PM UTC
My daughter and I will be studying at Ulpan Akiva in Netanya (Ramat Poleg) for a month from the last week in June.

1) How should we find a safe and reasonable apartment?
2) How much should we exect to pay for minimal space--just a bedroom kitchen & bath? I have found listings on lagur.com for rentals under $1000, then I contact the realtor and get much higher rates.
3) How can I get around with a young daughter and no car, cheaply? Is there any way to find bus schedules online?

I have just recently moved to Rehovot. I am looking to rent an apartment here and have just viewed a nice place in Savyonei Amit. I have no car and wonder if it is safe to walk from here to the Weizmann Institute along the busy road?
Cheers

Rehovot place to stay in/near Rehovot
Posted: Mon December 13, 2004 04:50 PM UTC
We are traveling in late December to Israel and need to be in Rehovot for an event at night. I saw the post from 2003. I couldn't find a B&B at Givat Brenner. Do they have one? Also, how is the Malon Maroga?
Thanks,

Central District visit to Gaza Strip!
Posted: Mon September 27, 2004 10:32 AM UTC
Hi,

I need to go to Gaza next week. Can someone tell me what is the best way to get there? Some people say to fly to Tel Aviv and take a taxi to Gaza but I was told that foreigners are not allowed to cross (Eraz?) into Gaza! Others tell me it is safer to fly to Egypt and cross the border into Gaza!

I know that the situation is very unstable in Gaza right now but my company insisted that I go!! Please let me know what you think or give me any other suggestions you may have. Thank you very much.

Netanya A Restaurant in Netanya
Posted: Sun November 16, 2003 07:51 PM UTC
30 years ago, when I lived in Israel, I was friendly with a South African couple that was opening up an American style restaurant in Netanya. The menu was hamburgers, ice cream, and other type of American dishes. It was to be located in the City Plaza area where outdoor celebrations and events are held. There was a lot of preparation involved, as much of the equipment was being imported from America. I believe it was to be named "American Burger".

I left Israel in July 1973, and never found what happened with this restaurant. I don't know if it ever opened, or perhaps it did, and is even still around. I would appreciate any information that can be provided.
